A number of experiments with aquatic cultures of Far Eastern woody plants have been tested and proposed for use within the framework of specialized training in the classroom of elective courses in biology, laboratory work of ecological and biological centers. Regional material is aimed at developing students' interest in biology, deepening knowledge in the field of plant physiology and ecology.

Specialized training helps high school students choose the right path to continue their education in the future, providing pedagogical, psychological, informational and organizational support to students. Due to the fact that new elective courses are being introduced in General education institutions, there are still not enough regulatory and reference materials. Many teachers cannot create elective courses that will be interesting and useful for students, because the school does not provide detailed information about the goals and objectives of specialized training, types and methods of its implementation. Therefore, one of the most pressing issues today is the systematization of information about elective courses and the identification of methodological features of its implementation. The article presents the program of the elective course "Cultural geography" for mathematical students. In addition, the methodological structure of the course "Cultural geography"was developed.

The aim of this research is to generate biology laboratory work module which utilize natural products as learning resource for students in senior high school. This module developed using Borg and Gall model which has been adapted with the needs and aims of this research, therefore, it gained four major stages that will be passed. These stages namely: needs analysys and literature study, matter development (based on needs), expert validation and field test (experimental class). On expert validation limited to matter expert validator whilst for field test, it was decided on students from XII science class as experimental class. The result of this research shown that laboratory module that utilized natural products can be used as learning resource for students in senior high school.

The subfamily Araeopteroninae Fibiger, 2005 from the Russian Far East and neighbouring countries is revised. Six species occur in Russia, three of which are new: A. ussurica sp. n., A. makikoae sp. n. and A. patella sp. n.; A. fragmenta and A. nebulosa are reported for the first time for Russia. In South Korea five species occur, two of which are new: A. patella sp. n. and A. koreana sp. n. Three species, A. amoena, A. nebulosa, and A. fragmenta are reported for the first time from China. The formerly described Far Eastern species (A. amoena, A. nebulosa, A. fragmenta and A. flaccida) are redescribed based on morphological characters. Adultss of all species from northern East Asia treated in the article are illustrated in color with their male and female genitalia. Distribution maps of the species in the Russian Far East are presented, along with an alphabetic checklist of 36 described species.

Transpiration is one of the most important water-related phenomena in plant physiology. Various types of semi-quantitative methods for demonstrating this process are available, one of which is the potometer. We offer here a better design for the single-leaf potometer resulting in an easy-to-make, unbreakable, and basic instrument that can reduce the cost of laboratory work in biology instruction and provide a tool that students might use for science fair projects.

Plant physiology is the scientific study of how plants grow and respond to environmental factors and cultural treatments in terms of their physiological processes and conditions. This book aims to explain how physiological processes (such as photosynthesis, respiration, transpiration, carbohydrate, nitrogen and mineral relations) are involved in the growth of woody plants and how they are affected by the environment, in addition to explaining the mechanisms of the processes themselves.
