The purpose of this research is to study the material composition of the Tebinbulak ore and to develop a technology for extracting iron, vanadium and titanium. Titanomagnetites are a type of ore raw material with a complex composition, containing iron oxides, titanium dioxide and vanadium pentoxide. The technology for processing titanomagnetite ores differs from the technology for beneficiation of iron ores in that during the processing it is necessary to separate vanadium and titanium oxides from iron oxides.

Titanomagnetites are a complex raw material with a high content of valuable components: iron (35–65 %), vanadium (0.5–1.5 %) and titanium (2–14 %). Today, titanium–magnetite concentrates are processed in two ways: blast furnace (Russia, China) and using electric smelting (South Africa). The blast–furnace method is applicable only for low–titanium titanomagnetites. In the case of using titanomagnetite concentrates with a titanium dioxide content of more than 4 %, the method of electric smelting with preliminary reduction is applicable. Both technologies aim to recover the two components iron and vanadium, while titanium is not recovered. In this regard, the development of a complex technology for processing titanomagnetite concentrate to obtain iron in granular form, vanadium pentoxide and titanium is urgent.

The marker technique has been used widely in trout digestibility studies due to practical difficulties in obtaining “true” faeces samples directly from fish. However this technique is also relatively difficult and there are few good systems for faeces collection. Reliable data on raw material digestibilities are therefore scarce. Traditionally, chromic oxide has been used as a marker. However this substance can give rise to skin allergies in humans and has been implicated as a carcinogen. Jagger et al., (1992) suggested that titanium dioxide could be used successfully as a digestibility marker in pig diets. The present study was designed to determine the digestibility of four feed ingredients for trout (prairie meal, maize distillers, soya 50 and extruded wheat) and to evaluate the use of chromic oxide or titanium dioxide as a digestibility marker in fish diets.Each test ingredient was included in a basal diet at 0, 100, 200, 300 and 400 g/kg. Titanium dioxide and chromic oxide were included in the basal diet at 1 and 3.7 g/kg respectively.

lmenite (FeO.TiO2) ore from Bangka island-Indonesia is a potential raw material for synthesizing titanium dioxide (TiO2), which can be used further as pigmen and photocatalyst. The fabrication of TiO2 particles from ilmenite can be carried out through the solvent extraction using sulfuric acid route. Therefore, the solubility of the ilmenite ore in sulfuric acid environment is one of the key factors to obtain the desired TiO2 particles. The current research is aimed at comparing the solubility of pristine Bangka ilmenite ore with that of precedingly decomposed by sodium hidroxide (NaOH) in pressurized and atmospheric reflux reactors. The dissolution of both precursors was carried out in those reactors under various temperatures of 75, 100, 125, 150 and 175°C. The results showed that the optimum dilution was achieved at 150°C. The obtained recovery of ilmenite was 88.8 % for the pressurized reactor and 75.5% for the atmospheric reflux reactor. The solubility of titanium (Ti) element increased steadily to reach a recovery of 68% at 150°C and decreased significantly afterwards. It was also found that the increase of iron (Fe) element solubility was proportional to the increase of processing temperatures.

Abstract The paper presents an influence of raw material composition and technological process applied on selected physical properties of food powders. Powdered multi-component nutrients were subjected to the process of mixing, agglomeration, coating, and drying. Wetting liquids ie water and a 15% water lactose solution, were used in agglomeration and coating. The analyzed food powders were characterized by differentiated physical properties, including especially: particle size, bulk density, wettability, and dispersibility. The raw material composition of the studied nutrients exerted a statistically significant influence on their physical properties. Agglomeration as well as coating of food powders caused a significant increase in particle size, decreased bulk density, increased apparent density and porosity, and deterioration in flowability in comparison with non-agglomerated nutrients.

The article analyzes the possibility and efficiency of processing stale tailings of flotation plants of the copper pyrite complex. The resource potential, material composition and technological capabilities of processing a number of technogenic objects are considered. The interrelation and influence of mineralogical and technological factors on the choice of tailings processing technology are analyzed. The results of chemical, mineral and phase analysis of stale flotation tailings of the studied pyrite ores are presented. According to the complex studies’ results, it is established that the stale flotation tailings of copper pyrite ores belong to a refractory type of geo-resources due to the high content of pyrite and low, at the level of ppm, gold and silver content, which are present mainly in the “resistant” minerals - chalcogenides, sulphides, their intergrowths. The article presents a factor analysis and conditions for the elemental composition of tailings formation: mineralogical, technological and environmental. The territorial accessibility and technological capability of the investigated technogenic formations are analyzed. In the course of experimental studies, the elemental composition of stale tailings has been revealed - the main components of which are: iron, sulfur, silicon and aluminum. According to the results of X-ray phase analysis, it has been found that the main ore mineral of the tailings is pyrite. At the same time, it is noted that the main share of gold in the stale flotation tailings is presented in the form of sulphides in the form of finely dispersed and isomorphic inclusions. The heterogeneous morphometric and mineral composition of sulphide aggregates, their difficult opening and high dispersion characterize stale tailings as a raw material that is difficult to float. The revealed features of the material composition of stale tails indicate the impossibility of extracting valuable components (gold and silver) from this resource using existing traditional technologies. It has been proved that it is possible to effectively extract precious metals from this category of raw materials only after their deep opening by chemical processing. The relevance of the research lies in the need to process gold-containing man-made waste in order to significantly expand the raw material base of mining enterprises, as well as to improve the ecological situation of the city-forming mining enterprises of the South Urals. The aim of the research is to study the material composition of stale tailings and develop a technology for selective extraction of gold and silver. The object of research is the stale flotation tailings of copper-pyrite enterprises of the Southern Urals. The subject is the mineral composition, the content of useful components of lying tailings and the technology of gold and silver selective extraction from them. Material and research methods. AbstractTwo sets of natural Al-substituted goethites from contrasting surface environments (24 tropical and subtropical soils vs. ten lake iron ores from Finland) were characterized by Mössbauer spectra obtained at room temperature and 4.2 K. A negative correlation between Bhf and Al substitution (R2 = 0.751) was found by combining the data of all the samples, which was slightly improved (R2 = 0.779) by taking the mean coherence length perpendicular to 111 (MCL111) into account. The effect of Al on lowering Bhf was, however, stronger for the tropical soil goethites than for those of the lake ores. This is parallelled by a corresponding difference in the unit-cell decrease per unit Al substitution. These differences are believed to result from the crystallization conditions in the two different environments.
