This paper is a position of contextual and holistic approach, and on the principles of constructivist theory examines the role of natural resources in the teaching and learning process. In the center of interest by the possibility of establishing a partnership relationship with nature in the process of teaching and learning, where nature appears as an asset, source and target classes. The aim is to get through the display and analysis of theoretical approaches to nature as a context for learning and teaching perceive from the perspective of affirmation contextual, holistic, active, investigative approach to teaching. This will promote new teaching strategies in order to change the classical approach to teaching and learning process and open up new opportunities to increase the share of after-school space in order to create teaching situations. Results of the analysis of theoretical starting points in particular knowledge of the value of contextual and holistic learning, achieving partnership with nature, in favor of modern theories in which it promotes active student positions close to reality in the process of construction of knowledge systems.

This paper aims to discover the feasibility and the applicability of task-based learning in improving the quality of the teaching and learning process (TLP) of reading in Indonesian secondary schools in relation to the teaching of genre or text types as required by the national curriculum. This is an action research study which is qualitative in nature. The data were obtained through observations and interviews with the students and the collaborators. They were in the forms of field notes, interview transcripts, and photographs. In addition, this research applied the investigator triangulation, the theoretical triangulation and the time triangulation. The actions implemented in this research are discussing new vocabulary items and guessing meaning from context, applying skimming and scanning strategies, discussing grammar related to the text, conducting a question/answer game, providing various materials from different sources, and applying group/pair work. The results of the research show that the students’ motivation increased. They were more enthusiastic in learning reading. Moreover, the students were interested in various materials presented by the teacher. They could get involved actively in the reading learning process. In addition, the classroom interaction also increased. The students could interact very well with other students and the teacher. In conclusion, the use of task-based approach with its accompanying actions is effective to improve the teaching and learning process of reading.

There are many approaches to teaching and learning available to teachers. However, educators and educational researchers have focused attention on approaches that ensure active learning of students and social interaction in the teaching-learning process. One of the approaches that promote students learning through active engagement and social interaction is collaborative learning. The chapter attempts to help teachers and pre-service teachers to understand collaborative learning as an inductive approach to teaching and learning. It examines important issues like meaning and elements of collaborative learning; collaboration and cooperation; advantages and challenges with implementation of collaborative learning. Teachers' role in the implementation of collaboration learning as well as collaborative learning techniques is also covered.

The study focused on investigating the influence of classroom teacher practices on teaching and learning effectiveness in secondary schools. The study used a number of different psychological perspectives relating to the teaching and learning process in school classrooms such as behaviourism and constructivism ideas to establish the basis for effective teacher practices and characteristics in relations to teaching and learning process. A cross section survey and naturalistic design method was used to investigate the influences of teacher practices in selected secondary schools. A simple random sampling and automatic inclusion was used, and the selected sample was made up of 200 secondary school teachers, 10 of whom were heads of schools. The data collection process included interviews, classroom observation and questionnaire instruments. The findings indicated that the teaching and learning process is greatly influenced by teacher practices and characteristics. Teachers demonstrated little knowledge of teaching techniques and skills to improve teaching effectiveness and pupil learning. The study concludes that teaching and learning processes can be improved by providing teacher support and improving the quality of teacher education through professional development practices to update teacher skills. The study recommends that efforts should be made to improve instructional processes in schools in order to achieve the intended educational goals through different strategies such as seminars, workshops, improved In-service teacher Education at school, District and National levels.

Artikel ini cuba mengupas sifat dan peranan keperibadian Guru Cemerlang Pendidikan Islam (GCPI) terhadap pelajar dalam meningkatkan keberkesanan pengajaran dan pembelajaran di sekolah menengah dalam subjek Pendidikan Islam. Kupasan sifat dan peranan ini berdasarkan kajian yang dilaksanakan di beberapa buah sekolah menengah di Malaysia dalam bentuk soal selidik pelajar. Dalam kajian ini, beberapa kumpulan pelajar berlainan sekolah diminta menilai ciri keperibadian GCPI terhadap pelajar mereka masing-masing dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran di dalam kelas. Instrumen soal selidik pelajar digunakan bagi mendapatkan data kajian. Data ini kemudiannya dianalisis dengan menggunakan SPSS version 16.0. Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan min keseluruhan persepsi pelajar terhadap keperibadian GCPI dan motivasi mereka berada pada paras yang tinggi. Min keperibadian GCPI kepada penampilan adalah 4.50, keperibadian kepada pelajar (min = 4.00), dan motivasi pelajar (min = 4.30). Begitu juga sifat keperibadian ini mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan tinggi dan sederhana dengan motivasi pelajar dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran mereka di dalam bilik darjah. Kata kunci: Keperibadian; penampilan; motivasi pelajar This paper investigates the role of attitude and attributes of excellent Islamic Education teacher’s in enhancing the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process of the subject in secondary schools. The investigation was carried out in eight secondary schools throughout Malaysia. A set of questionnaires was distributed among secondary schoool students to evaluate the attitude of the excellent Islamic Education teachers in the classroom. Data was then analysed using SPSS version 16.0. It was found that the total mean of students’ perception on the attitude of the teachers and their motivation was at high level: i.e the mean attitude of teachers personality (mean = 4.50), attitude toward students (mean = 4.00), and student’s motivation (mean = 4.30). In addition, teachers’ attitude has an apparent relationship with student’s motivation during their teaching and learning process in the classroom. Abstract: The development of Mass Media in the first decade of twenty first century influenced the lives of Bhutanese in various fields such as mass communication, entertainment, and teaching-learning processes. The proficiency of English language is an indispensable tool for students in the academic journey, and thus, the creative teaching-learning process of English is necessary to adopt in the classroom. Hence, this study explored the Impact of Mass Media in Teaching and Learning English in Higher Secondary Schools in Bhutan. The researcher conducted a Mixed Method Survey comprising questionnaire and interview to collect data and information from one hundred thirty five, twelfth-grade students and six English teachers from three schools under Tashigang Dzongkhag. The study used Simple Random Sampling to select the target population, which involved individuals that represent unbiased population. The study used descriptive analysis to interpret and analyze the collected data with graphical representations. The study presented the implications of Mass Media in teaching and learning English to the young minds. Further, the study recommended the use of Mass Media with accessibility and awareness to enhance the teaching and learning process of English. In this context, to analysis how the Chinese teaching activities is taking in the Romanian Primary and Secondary schools, would be very helpful for making both Chinese teaching and learning process more effectively and efficiently.
