This study identifies credit risk sources, credit scoring index classification modes and modelling methods, and constructs a credit scoring system for small and micro businesses (SMBs) with soft information. Through the analysis and comparison of neural network models, this study demonstrates the superiority of the back-propagation neural network (BPNN) models for loan classification prediction. There are three contributions and innovations as follows. (1) Based on the actual demands and default characteristics of SMBs, this study adds the behavioural variables of loan managers to strengthen the role of soft information in credit scoring model. (2) It develops a hybrid analysis and comparison framework based on the BPNN model. It identifies that the BPNN model is more suitable for approving SMBs loans, as it can precisely identify the second type of error. (3) Using the precious ledger data of SMB loans from a rural commercial bank in Jiangsu province, China, this study compares the prediction accuracy of the credit scoring model based on BPNN using two-level and five-level loan classifications. Further, it illustrates the applicability of the BPNN model. By connecting the practical operations of credit scores and quantitative models, this paper supports commercial bank examination and approval work of SMB loans.

Nonparametric models of hydraulic damper based on support vector regression (SVR) are developed. Then these models are compared with two kinds neural network models. One is backpropagation neural network (BPNN) model; another is radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) model. Comparisons are carried out both on virtual damper and actual damper. The force-velocity relation of a virtual damper is obtained based on a rheological model. Then these data are used to identify the characteristics of the virtual damper. The dynamometer measurements of an actual displacement-dependent damper are obtained by experiment. And these data are used to identify the characteristics of this actual damper. The comparisons show that BPNN model is best at identifying the characteristics of the virtual damper, but SVR model is best at identifying the characteristics of the actual damper. The reason is that all experimental data include noise more or less. When the amplitude of the noise is smaller than the parameter of SVR, the noise can not affect the construction of the resulting model. So when training a model based on the experimental data, SVR is superior to other neural networks methods.

AbstractFinancial institutions obtain enormous amounts of data about client transactions and money transfers, which can be considered as a large graph dynamically changing in time. In this work, we focus on the task of predicting new interactions in the network of bank clients and treat it as a link prediction problem. We propose a new graph neural network model, which uses not only the topological structure of the network but rich time-series data available for the graph nodes and edges. We evaluate the developed method using the data provided by a large European bank for several years. The proposed model outperforms the existing approaches, including other neural network models, with a significant gap in ROC AUC score on link prediction problem and also allows to improve the quality of credit scoring.

The neural network models series used in the development of an aggregated digital twin of equipment as a cyber-physical system are presented. The twins of machining accuracy, chip formation and tool wear are examined in detail. On their basis, systems for stabilization of the chip formation process during cutting and diagnose of the cutting too wear are developed. Keywords cyberphysical system; neural network model of equipment; big data, digital twin of the chip formation; digital twin of the tool wear; digital twin of nanostructured coating choice
