This document provides information about dietetic registration (a national credential), and licensure (a state-specific credential). Forty-six states have their own form of licensure or credentialing for nutrition professionals. In Florida, there are three credentials that allow people to legally practice as a nutrition or dietetics professional: Registered Dietitian (RD), Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LD/N), and Licensed Nutrition Counselor (LNC). Specific areas of practice, such as private consulting, public health, and long-term care, have different requirements. This document is FCS 8765, one of a series of the Department of Family, Youth and Community Sciences, Florida Cooperative Extension Service, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, University of Florida. As a patient, you will want to make the most of your doctor's visit. Take a few minutes to answer these questions prior to your doctor's visit. This will help you remember all that you want to ask and discuss with the doctor. (If you are a caregiver for an older adult, you may also want to review this checklist if you will assist the individual at the doctor's office.) This document is FCS2236, one of a series of the Department of Family, Youth and Community Sciences, Florida Cooperative Extension Service, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, University of Florida. Choosing a rootstock is an important decision. It should be carefully considered because the decision is a relatively permanent one and, therefore, has long-term significance. The steps in choosing a rootstock may not always be obvious, but there are several factors that traditionally have been important.  Some of the steps and factors involved are described in this publication in a generalized approach to selecting the best rootstocks for your conditions. Use this fact sheet as as a handy check-off form when preparing to select rootstocks. This document is HS932, one of a series of the Horticultural Sciences Department, Florida Cooperative Extension Service, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, University of Florida. Publication date: June 2003. HS-932/HS178: Choose the Right Citrus Rootstock (ufl.edu)

There is a renewed interest today in organic lawn care and a trend among many homeowners to consider long-term environmental concerns in their lawn maintenance programs. The term "organic" can cover many different aspects of lawn care, including fertility and pest management. There is also a certain amount of confusion and misunderstanding over the concept of organic lawn care and what it entails, and as to whether products are beneficial or fall into the “snake oil” category. This document is ENH883, one of a series of the Environmental Horticulture Department, Florida Cooperative Extension Service, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, University of Florida.
