Abstract Sentiment analysis of text can be performed using machine learning and natural language processing methods. However, there is no single tool or method that is effective in all cases. The objective of this research project is to determine the effectiveness of neural network-based architecture to perform sentiment analysis of customer comments and reviews, such as the ones on Amazon site. A typical sentiment analysis process involves text preparation (of acquired content), sentiment detection, sentiment classification and analysis of results. In this research, the objective is to a) identify the best approach for text preparation in a given application (text filtering approach to remove errors in data), and, most importantly, b) what is the best machine learning (feed forward neural nets, convolutional neural nets, Long Short-Term Memory networks) approach that provides best classification accuracy. In this research, a set of three thousand two hundred reviews of food related products were used to train and experiment with a neural network-based sentiment analysis system. The neural network implementation of six different models provided close to one-hundred percent accuracy of test data, and a decent test accuracy in mid-80%. The results of the research would be useful to businesses in evaluating customer preferences for products or services.

Today we have large amounts of textual data to be processed and the procedure involved in classifying text is called natural language processing. The basic goal is to identify whether the text is positive or negative. This process is also called as opinion mining. In this paper, we consider three different data sets and perform sentiment analysis to find the test accuracy. We have three different cases- 1. If the text contains more positive data than negative data then the overall result leans towards positive. 2. If the text contains more negative data than positive data then the overall result leans towards negative. 3. In the final case the number or positive and negative data is nearly equal then we have a neutral output. For sentiment analysis we have several steps like term extraction, feature selection, sentiment classification etc. In this paper the key point of focus is on sentiment analysis by comparing the machine learning approach and lexicon-based approach and their respective accuracy loss graphs.

With the extensive availability of social media platforms, Twitter has become a significant tool for the acquisition of peoples’ views, opinions, attitudes, and emotions towards certain entities. Within this frame of reference, sentiment analysis of tweets has become one of the most fascinating research areas in the field of natural language processing. A variety of techniques have been devised for sentiment analysis, but there is still room for improvement where the accuracy and efficacy of the system are concerned. This study proposes a novel approach that exploits the advantages of the lexical dictionary, machine learning, and deep learning classifiers. We classified the tweets based on the sentiments extracted by TextBlob using a stacked ensemble of three long short-term memory (LSTM) as base classifiers and logistic regression (LR) as a meta classifier. The proposed model proved to be effective and time-saving since it does not require feature extraction, as LSTM extracts features without any human intervention. We also compared our proposed approach with conventional machine learning models such as logistic regression, AdaBoost, and random forest. We also included state-of-the-art deep learning models in comparison with the proposed model. Experiments were conducted on the sentiment140 dataset and were evaluated in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 Score. Empirical results showed that our proposed approach manifested state-of-the-art results by achieving an accuracy score of 99%.

Sentiment analysis is computational measurement of attitude, opinions, and emotions (like positive/negative) with the help of text mining and natural language processing of words and phrases. Incorporation of machine learning techniques with natural language processing helps in analysing and predicting the sentiments in more precise manner. But sometimes, machine learning techniques are incapable in predicting sentiments due to unavailability of labelled data. To overcome this problem, an advanced computational technique called deep learning comes into play. This chapter highlights latest studies regarding use of deep learning techniques like convolutional neural network, recurrent neural network, etc. in sentiment analysis.

Multilingual Sentiment analysis plays an important role in a country like India with many languages as the style of expression varies in different languages. The Indian people speak in total 22 different languages and with the help of Google Indic keyboard people can express their sentiments i.e reviews about anything in the social media in their native language from individual smart phones. It has been found that machine learning approach has overcome the limitations of other approaches. In this paper, a detailed study has been carried out based on Natural Language Processing (NLP) using Simple Neural Network (SNN) ,Convolutional Neural Network(CNN), and Long Short Term Memory (LSTM)Neural Network followed by another amalgamated model adding a CNN layer on top of the LSTM without worrying about versatility of multilingualism. Around 4000 samples of reviews in English, Hindi and in Bengali languages are considered to generate outputs for the above models and analyzed. The experimental results on these realistic reviews are found to be effective for further research work.

Pengolahan data opini itu di sebut dengan sentiment analysis. Dalam pengolahan data opini yang besar tersebut tidak hanya cukup menggunakan machine learning, namun bisa juga menggunakan deep learning yang di kombinasikan dengan teknik NLP (Natural Languange Processing). Penelitian ini membandingkan beberapa model deep learning seperti CNN (Convolutional Neural Network), RNN (Recurrent Neural Networks), LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) dan beberapa variannya untuk mengolah data sentiment analysis dari review produk amazon dan yelp.

Social media sites are used today for the development of different types and nature of customers those use such benefits which are often shared by people on social media symbolic or textual opinions, ideas, and feelings. This attitude and orientation draw attention to research and analyze sentiments through online data about customer interest. Therefore, the sentimental analysis idea is proposed. This is among the various uses of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning Analysis (MLA) is very common. The main task of sentimental analysis is the classification of sentiments automatically into three categories that are positive, negative and neutral. Many classification researches are conducted over the years to know the exact feelings and situations of sentimental emotions of people. Classification, fuzzy and clustering, is used. To know the sentiment analysis of the people’s accurate feeling and situation, many times over the years classification research was conducted in past. The accuracy of classification is finding more in Fuzzy based. Fuzzy based classification finds more accurate and for comparative study execution Classical Text Classifications Model is used. In comparative performance, this study shows the possibility of implementing the proposed method able to provide more accurate results when it comes in comparison with conventional classifiers. In this article we have discussed different researchers worked on the method of sentiment analysis and classification. This article also shows the importance of extracting comments and analyze sentiments

Background: Sentiment analysis is a contextual mining of text which determines viewpoint of users with respect to some sentimental topics commonly present at social networking websites. Twitter is one of the social sites where people express their opinion about any topic in the form of tweets. These tweets can be examined using various sentiment classification methods to find the opinion of users. Traditional sentiment analysis methods use manually extracted features for opinion classification. The manual feature extraction process is a complicated task since it requires predefined sentiment lexicons. On the other hand, deep learning methods automatically extract relevant features from data hence; they provide better performance and richer representation competency than the traditional methods. Objective: The main aim of this paper is to enhance the sentiment classification accuracy and to reduce the computational cost. Method: To achieve the objective, a hybrid deep learning model, based on convolution neural network and bi-directional long-short term memory neural network has been introduced. Results: The proposed sentiment classification method achieves the highest accuracy for the most of the datasets. Further, from the statistical analysis efficacy of the proposed method has been validated. Conclusion: Sentiment classification accuracy can be improved by creating veracious hybrid models. Moreover, performance can also be enhanced by tuning the hyper parameters of deep leaning models.

AbstractThe increased diversity and scale of published biological data has to led to a growing appreciation for the applications of machine learning and statistical methodologies to gain new insights. Key to achieving this aim is solving the Relationship Extraction problem which specifies the semantic interaction between two or more biological entities in a published study. Here, we employed two deep neural network natural language processing (NLP) methods, namely: the continuous bag of words (CBOW), and the bi-directional long short-term memory (bi-LSTM). These methods were employed to predict relations between entities that describe protein subcellular localisation in plants. We applied our system to 1700 published Arabidopsis protein subcellular studies from the SUBA manually curated dataset. The system combines pre-processing of full-text articles in a machine-readable format with relevant sentence extraction for downstream NLP analysis. Using the SUBA corpus, the neural network classifier predicted interactions between protein name, subcellular localisation and experimental methodology with an average precision, recall rate, accuracy and F1 scores of 95.1%, 82.8%, 89.3% and 88.4% respectively (n = 30). Comparable scoring metrics were obtained using the CropPAL database as an independent testing dataset that stores protein subcellular localisation in crop species, demonstrating wide applicability of prediction model. We provide a framework for extracting protein functional features from unstructured text in the literature with high accuracy, improving data dissemination and unlocking the potential of big data text analytics for generating new hypotheses.
