Study of Granitoid Distribution at Toboali Waters, Bangka Belitung Province: Seismic data interpretation approach

Bangka Island is one of the islands in Indonesia which is traversed by Southeast Asia granitoid belt. This belt stretches from Burma (Myanmar) to Bangka Belitung. This granitoid has potential as a source rock of mineral that carrying tin and rare earth element. At present, mapping of granitoid rocks to the waters area is rarely published, so acoustic basement mapping is necessary to do in order to determine the distribution of granitoids in Toboali waters. The research method used is a single channel seismic with an energy source of 300 joules. The sound source uses a single plate boomer, so it has a high enough resolution but the penetration is not deep enough. Acoustic basement in Toboali waters varies in depth from 15 - 75 ms or getting deeper south. When viewed from the continuity of the acoustic basement, it is estimated that the granitoid is 7 km from the nearest coastline.

Secara regional daerah Bangka merupakan bagian dari Jalur Granit Utama Pembawa Timah.  Daratan nya ditandai oleh intrusi Granit Klabat yang merupakan batuan penting sumber endapan plaser. Untuk mengetahui lembah purba  maka dilakukan perekaman seismik saluran tunggal. Daerah penelitian secara administratif merupakan bagian dari wilayah Kabupaten Bangka Tengah, Propinsi Bangka Belitung. Perairan  Tanjung Berikat dan sekitarnya dicirikan oleh kelerengan dasar laut rata-curam dengan  kedalaman terukur antara 0-45 meter. Interpretasi seismik saluran tunggal menunjukkan stratigrafi seismik dari muda ke tua yaitu Runtunan A, Runtunan B, intrusi, dan Runtunan C sebagai dasar akustik. Ketebalan sedimen Runtunan A antara  5-30 meter dari  permukaan dasar laut. Lembah purba memanjang cukup lebar dan dalam pada Runtunan B yang diduga sebagai fasies pengisian lembah berupa onlap fill.  Fasies ini memiliki internal reflektor bebas pantulan-kaotik yang ditafsirkan sebagai wadah mineral plaser dan mineral ikutan pembawa  unsur tanah jarang. Endapan plaser diperkirakan merupakan  hasil pengerjaan ulang batuan granitoid.Kata Kunci : Dasar laut, runtunan stratigrafi, lembah/alur Purba, endapan plaser, dan Perairan Tanjung Berikat dan Sekitarnya, Bangka-Belitung. Geologically regional, the Bangka area is part of the Main Tin Belt Granite. The mainland of the study area is characterized by Klabat Granite intrusion which is an important rock source of placer deposits. To find out the placer availability of deposits on Paleo channel it was carried out for the recording of single channel seismic data. The study area is administratively part of the area of Central Bangka, Bangka-Belitung Province. Tanjung Berikat waters and its vicinity are characterized by the slope of the flat sea floor to steep with a measured depth of 0-45 meters. Seismic interpretation shows seismic stratigraphic from young to old consisting of sequence A, sequence B, Intrusion, and sequence C as acoustic basement. Sediment thickness of sequence A between 5-30 meters from seafloor surface sediment. Paleo channel with an elongated shape that is wide enough and deep in sequence B is interpreted as a channel filling facies in the form of onlap fill. This facies is characterized by the free to chaotic reflector configuration which is interpreted as a place for mineral placer and accessory minerals which contain rare earth elements. The availability of placer deposits is interpreted as the result of reworking of granitoid source rock.Keywords: Sea floor, stratigraphic seismic, Paleo channel, placer deposits, and Tanjung Berikat waters and surrounding, Bangka-Belitung.

Penelitian geofisika di Perairan Todak, Singkep, Kepulauan Riau menggunakan seperangkat peralatan seismik pantul dangkal saluran tunggal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menunjang penelitian keterdapatan endapan plaser pembawa timah dan unsur tanah jarang (REE). Hasil interpretasi rekaman seismik diperoleh terdapatnya lembah/mangkuk yang terbentuk secara alami akibat adanya terobosan batuan granit, di mana lembah/mangkuk-mangkuk ini merupakan tempat terjadinya sedimentasi dari hasil pelapukan batuan di sekitarnya. Hasil interpretasi rekaman seismik pantul saluran tunggal analog di perairan Todak, Singkep, dapat diklasifikasikan menjadi 3 runtunan yaitu runtunan A, B, dan runtunan C.Kata kunci Data seismik, endapan plaser, lembah/mangkuk, Perairan Todak. Geophysical research at Todak, Singkep, Riau Archipelago Province, by using single channel sahllow seismic refletion. The purpose of research is to support placer deposit bearing tin and rare earth element research at this area. From seismic interpretation can be recognized the distribution of valley/bowls which is naturally formed, caused by granite rock intrusion. Those valleys are sedimentation places of wheathered rock from the surrounding area. Beside that, the seismic research also for determining the placer deposit thickness. Interpratation of analog single channel seismic records in the Todak waters, Singkep, result 3 seismic sequences and intrusive feature, A sequences, B, and C. The offset panel is a display of basic seismic data which combines single‐channel profiles from successive offsets (source‐to‐receiver distances) into one format. The profiles are displayed one below another and arranged vertically by offset and horizontally by common‐depth‐point. This arrangement allows for comparison of variations observed at one offset to those at another offset. Alteration of the data due to near‐surface geologic variations generates geometric patterns on the display which are different from patterns due to changes in seismic source or receiver. This display has utility in data processing to verify field recording geometry, monitor the seismic source (primarily a marine application), and determine processing parameters. It aids data interpretation by allowing for the detection of an anomalous velocity zone in the near‐surface which may affect deeper structural interpretation. Utilization of the offset panel in identification of shallow events of high amplitude also allows identification of shallow drilling hazards in the marine environment with conventional seismic data.

From the total magnetic anomaly and single channel seismic data interpretation on the systematic mapping in the Tanjung Selor waters, east Kalimantan, are shows correlation almost similar between magnetic anomaly with the seismic data records. The magnetic anomaly value and seismic data profiles are show that the many fault and fold structures identification in the research area. The total magnetic anomaly result which are presented of the magnetic basement. Dari Anomali magnet total dan data seismik dangkal saluran tunggal pada pemetaan sistematik di perairan Tanjung Selor, Kalimantan timur, menunjukkan hubungan yang hampir mirip antara nilai anomali magnet total dengan data seismik. Profil anomali magnet dan data seismik dangkal menunjukkan banyaknya struktur sesar dan perlipatan teridentifikasi di daerah penelitian. Anomali magnet total hasil penelitian ini lebih cenderung menggambarkan intensitas magnet batuan dasar.
