Didymodon tomaculosus (Blockeel) M.F.V.Corley is reported for the first time from Turkey, bringing the total number of Didymodon species known from Turkey to 19. D. tomaculosus is also reported first time to the moss flora of Asia. It is a very rare species and was known only from British Isles and south of Germany. Stachys is traditionally accepted to present great taxonomic and nomenclatural complexity. It shows a wide range of variability that is difficult to define. In the present study, a taxonomic revision of Stachys sect. Olisia (Lamiaceae) in Turkey was presented. Stachys comprises 87 species (113 taxa) in Flora of Turkey, 58 of which (51%) are endemic to Turkey. Stachys sect. Olisia is represented by 14 species (20 taxa) in Turkey, of which S. distans var. distans is reported for the first time from Turkey, and S. annua subsp. annua var. lycaonica is synonymised to S. annua subsp. annua. Herein, morphological descriptions, diagnostic characters, detailed illustrations, distribution maps, IUCN threat categories and taxonomic comments are presented for all accepted taxa. Furthermore, identification keys are also included for the accepted Turkish species, subspecies and varieties in the section.

Syntrichia minor (Bizot) M.T. Gallego, J. Guerra, M.J. Cano, Ros & S?nchez-Moya (Pottiaceae, Bryophyta - mosses) and Cephaloziella integerrima (Lindb.) Warnst. (Cephaloziellaceae, Marchantiophyta - liverworts) are recorded for the first time from Turkey. In addition, the rare C. integerrima is new to Southwest Asia. These species were collected from the northern part of Turkey, respectively Karab?k (Safranbolu) and Kastamonu (Bozkurt). Site description, synonyms, illustrations, ecology, distribution and diagnostic characters of these species are presented.

This article reports the occurrence of the thalloid liverwort Cyathodium denticulatum Udar et Srivastava was collected first time from the Achanakmar – Amarkantak Biosphere Reserve (AABR) Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. It is shown that Cyathodium denticulatum a narrow Himalayan endemic has been reported earlier from Darjeeling, India. There is no record of its occurrence from central India. Cyathodium denticulatum is a rare species known only from eastern Himalayan region. A key to related Indian taxa and taxonomic description is provided.

Three rare species of discomycetes in the family Hyaloscyphaceae are reported from Central Russia (Oryol and Bryansk Regions). Proliferodiscus tricolor is recorded for the first time in Russia. Comments are made on Aeruginoscyphus sericeus and Eriopezia caesia previously reported only from Moscow Region and North Caucasus respectively.

The first data are presented about the Sciomyzidae of Iturup, the largest of the Kuril Islands. A total of ten species are recorded. Limnia setosa Yano is recorded for the first time from Russia; Tetanocera montana Day and T. phyllophora Melander are recorded for the first time from the Kuril Islands. Aphodius (Agoliinus) guttatus, A. (Chilothorax) clathratus, and A. (Aphodaulacus) kizeritskyi are recorded from Russia for the first time. Aphodius (Agoliinus) amurensis previously known only from the type locality is found in the Lazo Nature Reserve (Russian Far East). All species are diagnosed and illustrated. Comments on diagnostic characters, distribution and bionomics are given.

During the annual fly survey at Doi Nang Kaew in Doi Saket District, Chiang Mai Province of Thailand in 2011, Isomyia paurogonitaFang & Fan, 1986 (Diptera: Calliphoridae) and Sumatria latifrons Malloch, 1926 (Diptera: Calliphoridae) were collected for the first time in Thailand. They are the rare species of the subfamily Rhiniinae (tribe Cosminini). Prior to this finding, fifteen species of Isomyia and two species of Sumatriawere recorded from Thailand. Therefore, 96 blow fly species have been found in this country. These new locality records of both flies are very important for further research on their biology and ecology in Thailand.

A New Species

A new species of water scavenger beetle, Laccobius (Glyptolaccobius) yinziweii sp. nov. is described from Yunnan, China. Diagnostic characters are illustrated. Laccobius (Cyclolaccobius) nitidus Gentili, 1984 is reported from Guizhou, Laccobius (Microlaccobius) hammondi Gentili, 1984 from Hubei, and Laccobius (s. str.) inopinus Gentili, 1980 from Guizhou for the first time. Additionally, an identification key to Laccobius (Glyptolaccobius) of the world is updated.
