In this research designed data communication system for home based garage control via wireless LAN. Data communication systems for Web-based control via the wireless LAN is a system used to monitor and control the garage door with the web remotely. Controlling center lies in a browser that can be accessed through a smartphone connected to a LAN network that will be the user interface with the garage door to be controlled. In this system will be paired Ethernet module connected wireless router as telecommunications media. With this system, the user can control the monitor, garage door remotely while it is connected to the wireless router. So the user does not need manual control at close range, the user can also know the state-controlled garage door via the web. The final stage is a software design then the system can be tested as a whole to determine the ability of the system, response time required to perform the command system. And QoS parameter this is a response time and throughput. Testing by means of ping test to obtain. After that will be analyzed in the response time and throughput it takes to send commands from a web browser that is controlled from a smartphone to a microcontroller. The results obtained after the system has been created is a system can connect to a local area network in a home and after testing all of obtained the required response time of the system to perform the command average time 48.106 ms and throughput/ transmission speed 10.989 bit/sec. It can be concluded that the design of microcontroller-based web browser via LAN wireless can be implemented.

In a wired local area network (LAN), the network ports and cables are mostly contained inside a building. Therefore, a hacker must defeat physical security measures, such as security personnel, identity cards, and door locks, to be able to physically access the LAN. However, the penetration capability of electromagnetic waves exposes the data transmission medium of a wireless LAN (WLAN) to potential intruders (Potter & Fleck, 2003). The fast development of wireless technologies implies that wireless communications will become ubiquitous in homes, offices, and enterprises. In order to conserve power and frequency spectrum, the wireless device computation overhead is most often reduced. The conventional security design thus uses smaller keys, weak message integrity protocols, and weak or one-way authentication protocols (Hardjono & Dondeti, 2005). WLAN security thus requires a more reliable protection of data communication between WLAN units and strong access management mechanisms.

Computer programs that radio amateurs use in their packet radio networks give various opportunities in simulating real data communication systems. Such systems include radio-relay networks of digital repeaters that operate in cities or in rural and remote locations, email servers that handle amateur radio messaging and file exchange, and a variety of end-user stations at home or work. This chapter summarizes the results of recent experiments in network simulations by using amateur radio software in a local area network. We tested the main features of those amateur radio programs and their repercussions to the functionality of simulated networks and to the comfort and satisfaction in average network participants. Described tests help practitioners, students, and teachers in computer science and communication technologies, in implementing amateur radio within the existing computer networks and in planning and using telecommunication systems without making any investment in hardware infrastructure.

Microstrip antenna which designed with dual feeding at 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz can meet WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) application.Antenna fabrication use PCB FR4 double layer with thickness 1.6 mm and dielectric constant value 4.4. The length of patch antenna according to calculation 28.63 mm, but to get needed parameter length of patch should be optimized to 53 mm. After examination, this antenna has VSWR 1.212 at 2.42 GHz and 1.502 at 5.8 GHz, RL -13.94 dB at 2.42 GHz and -20.357 dB at 5.8 GHz, gain of antenna 6.16 dB at 2.42 GHz and 6.91 dB at 5.8 GHz, the radiation pattern is bidirectional. Keywords : microstrip antenna, wireless LAN, dual polarization, single feeding technique

A tms320dm642 and wireless fidelity based fire monitoring robot is designed. Flame features, both static and dynamic detecting algorithm, combine with long wave infrared (LWIR) is equipped to achieve the goal of monitoring fire. When the suspected fire event happens, Fire warning message will be sent to remote terminal through the wireless LAN automatically. Infrared image of the fire can be transmitted through the wireless network under the control of remote terminal. As LWIR camera can even look through the dense smoke of fire, fire source will be located accurately, rescuing and fire fighting work will carry on better and with less injury.

<p><span lang="EN-US">IEEE 802.11ac based wireless local area network (WLAN) is emerging WiFi standard at 5 GHz, it is new gigabit-per-second standard providing premium services. IEEE 802.11ac accomplishes its crude speed increment by pushing on three distinct measurements firstly is more channel holding, expanded from a maximum of 80 MHz up to 160 MHz modes. Secondly, the denser modulation, now using 256-QAM, it has the ability to increase the data rates up to 7 Gbps using an 8×8 multiple input multiple output (MIMO). Finally, it provides high resolution for both narrow and medium bandwidth channels. This work presents a study to improve the performance of IEEE 802.11ac based WLAN system.</span></p>

Purpose This paper aims to present the design of a novel triangular-shaped wideband microstrip bandpass filter implemented on a low-cost substrate with a notched band for interference rejection. Design/methodology/approach The conventional dual-stub filter is embedded with simple fractal-based triangular-circular geometries through various iterations to reject wireless local area network (WLAN) signals with a notched band at 5.8 GHz. Findings The filter covers a wide frequency band from 3.1 to 8.8 GHz and has a fractional bandwidth of 98 per cent with the lower passband of 57.5 per cent and upper passband of 31.6 per cent separated by a notched band at 5.8 GHz. The proposed wideband prototype bandpass filter is fabricated in FR-4 substrate using PCB technology and the simulation results are validated with measurement results which include insertion loss, return loss and group delay. The fabricated filter has a sharp rejection of 28.3 dB at 5.8 GHz. Measured results show good agreement with simulated responses. The performance of the fractal-based wideband filter is compared with other wideband bandpass filters. Originality/value In the proposed work, a fractal-based wideband bandpass filter with a notched band is reported. The conventional dual-stub filter is deployed with triangular-circular geometry to design a wideband filter with a notched band to suppress interference signals at WLAN frequency. The proposed wideband filter exhibits smaller size and better interference rejection compared to other wideband bandpass filter designs implemented on low-cost substrate reported in the literature. The aforementioned wideband filter finds application in wideband wireless communication systems.

Smart home system mainly consists of home networking, wireless local area network and external network, and with the advantages of low cost and high reliability, Zigbee wireless technology is the right choice for smart home system and the main part of home networking. The design of smart home system based on Zigbee is proposed, the Zigbeethe design process of the systemintelligent socket and data communication rule are elaborated. The system has been applied in smart community of Shaoxing Electric Power Bureau, which has good performances, high availability and reliability, better market prospects.

A new key management and security scheme is proposed to integrate Layer Two (L2) and Layer Three (L3) keys for secure and fast Mobile IPv6 handover over IEEE 802.11 Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). Unlike the original IEEE 802.11-based Mobile IPv6 Fast Handover (FMIPv6) that requires time-consuming IEEE 802.1x-based Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) authentication on each L3 handover, the newly proposed key management and security scheme requires only one 802.1x-EAP regardless of how many L3 handovers occur. Therefore, the proposed scheme reduces the handover latency that results from a lengthy 802.1x-based EAP. The proposed key management and security scheme is extensively analyzed in terms of security and performance, and the proposed security scheme is shown to be more secure than those that were previously proposed.

To reduce the number of inter-disturb access points and the interference among access points in same channel, with research on interference issus and channel assignment algorithms of wireless local area network, a scheme suitable for centralized wireless local area network was proposed aiming to minimize the total interference among access points, which comprehensively considerate the number of neighbor and the received power. And then the algorithm with cases was simulated and analyzed, the result of NS2 simulation indicated that the algorithm was simple, effective and feasible, which could realize dynamic adjustment to the wireless LAN RF channel and had a better load balance effect among non-overlapping channels.
