<p>Progress in technology has make a method of delivery of goods that more and more efficient and effective of various modes of transportation. For four the last decade, the number of estimates trade in the sea has increase fourfold , from 8 trillion tons a nautical miles in 2008 (ICS : 2010). Throughout the 20th century , shipping industry the world has experienced the trend of increased the total volume of trade. The industrialized and liberalization the various peoples  triggered free trade and increasing demand for consumer products. In spite of multilateral diplomatic problems among nations , the development of world economy was advanced has caused the limits of the country began disguised, trade ships with any nationality , can be easily do their activities in any country , a ship that is manned by sailors of another race will interact with the parties outside the ship which certainly have different languages. The importance of english language proficiency in this context is to support boat safety because of several factors the case study of an accident of a vessel which is often occur because of a misunderstanding in communications where take care of less officer to take control of the english that well. The problems discussed in this journal is communication between a ship or bridge to bridge communication , and interen vessel in communication related to operational above a ship. Where the data in extract derived from case study accident a ship which occurs because<br />misunderstanding different language used above the ship it self .</p><p><strong>Keywords : Brige to Bridge, shipwreck, Deck Officer, Marine Communication Standard</strong></p><p><strong><br /></strong></p><p>Kemajuan teknologi telah membuat metode pengiriman barang yang semakin efisien dan efektif dari berbagai moda transportasi. Selama empat dekade terakhir, jumlah perkiraan perdagangan di laut telah meningkat empat kali lipat, dari hanya 8 triliun ton per mil laut pada tahun 2008 (ICS : 2010). Sepanjang abad ke-20, industry perkapalan dunia telah mengalami kecenderungan peningkatan total volume perdagangan. Meningkatnya industrialisasi dan liberalisasi ekonomi berbagai bangsa telah memicu perdagangan bebas dan miningkatnya permintaan untuk produk-produk konsumen. Terlepas dari persoalan diplomatik multilateral antar bangsa, perkembangan ekonomi dunia yang begitu pesat telah menyebabkan batas-batas negara mulai tersamarkan, kapal-kapal niaga dengan kebangsaan manapun, dapat dengan mudah melakukan kegiatannya di negara manapun, yang berarti suatu kapal yang diawaki oleh pelaut dari bangsa lain akan berinteraksi dengan pihak-pihak di luar kapalnya yang tentu saja memiliki bahasa yang berbeda. Pentingnya penguasaan bahasa Inggris dalam hal ini adalah untuk menunjang keselamatan kapal karena adanya beberapa faktor studi kasus kecelakaan kapal yang sering terjadi karena adanya kesalahpahaman dalam berkomunikasi dimana perwira jaga kurang menguasai bahasa Inggris dengan baik. Permasalahan yang akan dibahas pada jurnal ini adalah komunikasi antar kapal atau Bridge to Bridge Communication, maupun interen vessel in communication yang berhubungan erat dengan operasional diatas kapal. Dimana data yang di ambil berasal dari studi kasus kecelakaan kapal yang terjadi karena kesalahpahaman perbedaan bahasa yang<br />digunakan di atas kapal itu sendiri.</p><p><strong>Kata kunci : Komunikasi antar kapal, Kecelakaan kapal, Deck Officer, Standard Marine</strong><br /><strong>Communication</strong></p><p><strong><br /></strong></p>

This chapter discusses the significance of employee wellbeing at the workplace and self-perceived English language proficiency as a predictor variable. The importance of employee wellbeing has been recognized all around the world. To generalize the findings of previous literature this study has examined the proposed model in the context of telecom MNCs in Pakistan. This chapter starts with what is wellbeing at the workplace? And moves towards it significance in the context of developed and underdeveloped countries. Further, this chapter explains the empirical findings of the proposed model. The results revealed a strong correlation between self-perceived English language proficiency and dimensions of employee wellbeing at the workplace. This is a very important chapter for both researchers and managers.

The article gives an idea of the role and significance of the English language as a means of communication in the world economy. Demand for a foreign language in a market economy and its perceived needs, economic examples of outstanding and frequent shortcomings of specialists in the field of language proficiency and at the same time, many of the problems and indicators of language proficiency in the countries of the world are given. It is noted that the development of foreign language skills in education based on effective methods and practices. To date, a number of studies have been conducted around the world on the process of teaching English and at the same time, such studies are continuing. Training is a complex process, constantly commenting on the updates and research. For future professionals to acquire knowledge only in their field and simply rely on the program a wrong idea. If you pay attention to the development of each area, it has concentrated a number of disciplines. This can be cited as an example of the direction of economic development. It is important to educate well-developed generation, which is the most important value and decisive force in achieving the set goals of increasing investment in human capital from year to year, democratic development, modernization and renewal. For example, the need for language is manifested in the process of interaction and communication with foreign partners. After all, Economics, in a broad sense, is the production, distribution, exchange, and consumption of products. For consumer and producer, common language skills are considered not only a condition for achieving a mutually acceptable result, but also a necessity to negotiate. Integration of the world community, the development of science, technology requires the young generation to master several languages perfectly.Practical skills for specialists in the field of Economics, rules of business relations in a foreign language, both oral and written is necessary to create conditions for the development of cognitive ability, as well as the ability to a foreign language in the professional sphere. In this case, in order to enrich the theoretical and practical achievements, scholars in the field of language, pay attention to get wide outlook learning language according to specialty in direction of Economics. Today, teaching of foreign languages in higher education based on professional and personal competencies, that graduates achieve effective results in their professional career.

The current paper is a contribution to the field of ESP in aviation industry in an Algerian context. It was conducted in Zenata –Messali el Hadj Airport. It was a case study research that is intended to explore the English language deficiencies and problems Algerian air traffic controllers may face in their work, as well as to identify their lacks, needs and wants. To overcome their    difficulties a needs identification and analysis was conducted thanks to various instruments: interviews, a questionnaire, classroom observation. The results indicated that all informants involved in the current research were aware of the importance of the English language in aviation industry, as low proficiency in this language might lead to misunderstanding, and dangerous situations. Air traffic controllers reveal their need to develop their language proficiency namely in speaking and listening skills with special focus on vocabulary and grammar. To conclude English language is important in aviation industry. A good mastery of this language helps avoid misunderstanding and keep aviation safety. Thus, Algerian air traffic controllers need to enhance their English language ability thanks to appropriate English courses and well trained ESP teachers. Utilising a sequential explanatory mixed-methods approach, the current case study investigates the characteristics and frequency of the usage of verbal humour that positively or negatively affects the Saudi English as a Foreign Language (EFL) tertiary-level students across two different English language proficiency levels. The participants included 42 EFL teachers and 138 male EFL students from the English Language Institute (ELI) in King Abdulaziz University. The students were enrolled in the beginners (E101) and intermediate (E104) English language proficiency levels. The mixed-methods approach was implemented using audio and video recordings and a questionnaire as the data collection instruments. The findings stated the four main characteristics of both positive and negative verbal humours in Saudi EFL classrooms. These findings revealed that humour was more frequently used at the intermediate than at the beginner level, and that the most effective forms of humour at both levels involved language play, irony, jokes, and self-defeating humour. Suggestions, recommendations, pedagogical implications have also been presented.
