The article gives an idea of the role and significance of the English language as a means of communication in the world economy. Demand for a foreign language in a market economy and its perceived needs, economic examples of outstanding and frequent shortcomings of specialists in the field of language proficiency and at the same time, many of the problems and indicators of language proficiency in the countries of the world are given. It is noted that the development of foreign language skills in education based on effective methods and practices. To date, a number of studies have been conducted around the world on the process of teaching English and at the same time, such studies are continuing. Training is a complex process, constantly commenting on the updates and research. For future professionals to acquire knowledge only in their field and simply rely on the program a wrong idea. If you pay attention to the development of each area, it has concentrated a number of disciplines. This can be cited as an example of the direction of economic development. It is important to educate well-developed generation, which is the most important value and decisive force in achieving the set goals of increasing investment in human capital from year to year, democratic development, modernization and renewal. For example, the need for language is manifested in the process of interaction and communication with foreign partners. After all, Economics, in a broad sense, is the production, distribution, exchange, and consumption of products. For consumer and producer, common language skills are considered not only a condition for achieving a mutually acceptable result, but also a necessity to negotiate. Integration of the world community, the development of science, technology requires the young generation to master several languages perfectly.Practical skills for specialists in the field of Economics, rules of business relations in a foreign language, both oral and written is necessary to create conditions for the development of cognitive ability, as well as the ability to a foreign language in the professional sphere. In this case, in order to enrich the theoretical and practical achievements, scholars in the field of language, pay attention to get wide outlook learning language according to specialty in direction of Economics. Today, teaching of foreign languages in higher education based on professional and personal competencies, that graduates achieve effective results in their professional career.

<p>Progress in technology has make a method of delivery of goods that more and more efficient and effective of various modes of transportation. For four the last decade, the number of estimates trade in the sea has increase fourfold , from 8 trillion tons a nautical miles in 2008 (ICS : 2010). Throughout the 20th century , shipping industry the world has experienced the trend of increased the total volume of trade. The industrialized and liberalization the various peoples  triggered free trade and increasing demand for consumer products. In spite of multilateral diplomatic problems among nations , the development of world economy was advanced has caused the limits of the country began disguised, trade ships with any nationality , can be easily do their activities in any country , a ship that is manned by sailors of another race will interact with the parties outside the ship which certainly have different languages. The importance of english language proficiency in this context is to support boat safety because of several factors the case study of an accident of a vessel which is often occur because of a misunderstanding in communications where take care of less officer to take control of the english that well. The problems discussed in this journal is communication between a ship or bridge to bridge communication , and interen vessel in communication related to operational above a ship. Meningkatnya industrialisasi dan liberalisasi ekonomi berbagai bangsa telah memicu perdagangan bebas dan miningkatnya permintaan untuk produk-produk konsumen. Terlepas dari persoalan diplomatik multilateral antar bangsa, perkembangan ekonomi dunia yang begitu pesat telah menyebabkan batas-batas negara mulai tersamarkan, kapal-kapal niaga dengan kebangsaan manapun, dapat dengan mudah melakukan kegiatannya di negara manapun, yang berarti suatu kapal yang diawaki oleh pelaut dari bangsa lain akan berinteraksi dengan pihak-pihak di luar kapalnya yang tentu saja memiliki bahasa yang berbeda. Pentingnya penguasaan bahasa Inggris dalam hal ini adalah untuk menunjang keselamatan kapal karena adanya beberapa faktor studi kasus kecelakaan kapal yang sering terjadi karena adanya kesalahpahaman dalam berkomunikasi dimana perwira jaga kurang menguasai bahasa Inggris dengan baik. Permasalahan yang akan dibahas pada jurnal ini adalah komunikasi antar kapal atau Bridge to Bridge Communication, maupun interen vessel in communication yang berhubungan erat dengan operasional diatas kapal. The last few years have seen significant changes in the world economy and by extension in accounting. Modern accountants have an important role in global entrepreneurship. As a result, the majority of employers prefer candidates with advanced accounting or auditing experience, knowledge of IT, including accounting and internal audit software, and good foreign language skills. The article contains an analysis of the content and components of the professional competence of accountants working in Latvia. The theoretical review is based on the information gathered and analysed from open sources and scientific databases.

The article reveals the issue of the effects of using SIOP model on self-efficacy and teaching skills of foreign language teachers. It is stressed that SIOP is an approach that can help English language learners to achieve academic success while gaining English language proficiency. It is worth noting that sheltered instruction offers the model for making academic material understandable and increasing the academic English language skills of learners through teaching. Attention has been paid to language skills that can be developed through collaboration and interaction. It has been concluded that the using SIOP model in modern educational process opens up unlimited possibilities for the foreign language teachers and students.Key words: teacher efficiency, professional training, professional competence, language proficiency, academic success.

English is the most common language in the world. The growing need for fluency in English throughout the world has led linguists and teachers to prioritize the search for more effective ways of teaching language skills, one of which is listening. Owning this type of communication activity, a person understands everything that he is told, and adequately responds to what is said, converting his thoughts in response. This is the basis of Dialogic speech. The speech feature of listening as a type of communicative activity plays a special role at various stages of mastering the English language, which is why every modern teacher or teacher of the English language necessarily includes listening tasks in his lesson. In this article, the author considers the importance of listening in teaching a foreign language, identifies approaches that can be used when listening to the text, presents listening strategies, and provides the most convenient and common way to teach listening in the classroom.

Information Communication Technology (ICT) has penetrated into the teaching of English as a foreign language (EFL) around the world, not to mention in Morocco. However, due to some obstacles faced in its implementation, its effectiveness needs to be improved. This paper is intended to explore the potentials of ICT to be used in EFL classes in Morocco and how to prepare teachers to be ready in incorporating the ICT in their language teaching.  The potentials cover, among others, what multimedia resources are available, how to make use of them and how ICT becomes the tools to develop student's English language skills. As the teachers' role is very significant, they should get professional development training in ICT for education

English language is considered as a global language, and with every single day, its users are increasing especially in the Arab world. The present study is exploratory in nature, investigating the effect of motivations on students’ English proficiency. It was meant to see whether there is any significant correlation between this variable as well as students’ English proficiency in the secondary level in Morocco. Additionally, it examines the extent to which there would be differences in language skills, domains and final foreign-language grades among high-school students completing a second year of English as a foreign-language in a foreign context such as the Moroccan one. Oral and written proficiency measures were adopted and administered by the researcher himself and with the help of participating teachers in addition to language supervisors (inspectors). The participants in this study are second year Moroccan EFL students enrolled for the school year 2017.The study incorporates quantitative as well as qualitative approach and has used a proficiency test, questionnaires besides an observational instrument to collect data from respondents. Initially, a total number of about 101 students participated in the study but only 78-ended taking part in the study. The data obtained has been quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed with ANOVA test of Fisher and the statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS). From the findings of the data, the study concludes that Moroccan students have overall differences among the two proficiency groups (High, Low) and study disciplines (Science or Letter). Conclusions and implications about connections among foreign-language proficiency language skills, attitudes, motivations are presented as well as discussed.

The article looks at book production and circulation from the point of view of translators, who, as purchasers and readers of foreign-language books, are an important mediating force in the selection of literature for translation. Taking the German publisher Tauchnitz's series ‘Collection of British Authors’ and its circulation in Finland in the nineteenth and early twentieth century as a case in point, the article argues that the increased availability of English-language books facilitated the acquiring and honing of translators' language skills and gradually diminished the need for indirect translating. Book history and translation studies meet here in an examination of the role of the Collection in Finnish translators' work.

The Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR) has become the standard used to describe and evaluate students’ command of a second or foreign language. It is an internationally acknowledged standard language proficiency framework which many countries have adopted such as China, Thailand, Japan and Taiwan. Malaysia Ministry of Education is aware and realise the need for the current English language curriculum to be validated as to reach the international standard as prescribed by the CEFR. The implementation of CEFR has begun at primary and secondary level since 2017 and now higher education institutions are urged to align their English Language Curriculum to CEFR as part of preparation in receiving students who have been taught using CEFR-aligned curriculum at schools by year 2022. This critical reflection article elucidates the meticulous processes that we have embarked on in re-aligning our English Language Curriculum to the standard and requirements of CEFR. The paper concludes with a remark that the alignment of the English curriculum at the university needs full support from the management in ensuring that all the stakeholders are fully prepared, informed and familiar with the framework.

Current English-as-a-second and foreign-language (ESL/EFL) research has encouraged to treat each communicative macroskill separately due to space constraint, but the interrelationship among these skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) is not paid due attention. This study attempts to examine first the existing relationship among the four dominant skills, second the potential impact of reading background on the overall language proficiency, and finally the relationship between listening and overall language proficiency as listening is considered an overlooked/passive skill in the pedagogy of the second/foreign language classroom. However, the literature in language learning has revealed that listening skill has salient importance in both first and second language learning. The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of each of four skills in EFL learning and their existing interrelationships in an EFL setting. The outcome of 701 Iranian applicants undertaking International English Language Testing System (IELTS) in Tehran demonstrates that all communicative macroskills have varied correlations from moderate (reading and writing) to high (listening and reading). The findings also show that the applicants’ reading history assisted them in better performing at high stakes tests, and what is more, listening skill was strongly correlated with the overall language proficiency.

It can be a challenge for a university teacher to arrange the teaching of written tasks so that weak foreign language students with differing disciplinary backgrounds can develop their written communication skills. The difficulty is to avoid the focus from becoming just language proficiency. In one course at a technical university in Sweden, three written summaries are scaffolded to address such a challenge. The purpose of this teaching practice paper is to show how employing a specific strategy of repetition facilitates the writing skill development in low-level English language multidisciplinary students. The repeated features are the genre of the task, the writing process used and the occurrences of teacher response. They are organised along a specific learning path so as to encourage the students to build on the knowledge gained in each iteration, between tasks and potentially beyond the course. The paper describes the journey the students take writing the three summaries, working on fulfilling criteria concerned with aspects such as content organisation, coherence and cohesion, and limited grammar errors. A brief analysis of excerpts from one case student’s first and third summaries is included. It is suggested that while the scaffolding can remain the same, the material could be replaced to suit other skills and language level needs.
