The need to enhance the performance of building façades and mitigate adverse environmental impacts has promoted the hypothesis of integrating green materials towards sustainable buildings. Façade designers tend to select building materials based on their green characteristics (origin) or green performance; however, this study highlights the importance of integrating both into the decision process. The main objective is to develop a new assessment process for selecting green building façade materials based on green performance and green originality. Furthermore, the evaluation framework considers four green building rating systems as a reference to allocate credits for the relevant criteria. Applying the proposed criteria in this study helps maximize the points for accreditation when incorporating green building materials in building façades. Moreover, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used to assign the proposed criteria’s weighting importance based on the four rating systems’ average points. After that, performing sensitivity analysis to identify each criterion’s influence is conducted. The study concluded that involving minimum levels of adverse impacts is the preferable criteria regarding the green origin concept. As for the green performance, promoting the performance of indoor air quality is the most favorable selection criteria.

As education and concern pertaining to environmental and sustainability issues like implications of resources destruction, decrease in bio-diversity as well as climate change multiply, so has the need for housing developments that lead to less damaging effects on the environment, whilst enabling living standard to be sustained. Builders, developers and material providers have addressed this demand by creating approaches and technologies that minimize energy, water and main material consumption, decrease greenhouse gas emissions and sustain or enhance surrounding ecological systems and services. Several administration and non-governmental institutions in addition have aimed to change the sustainability of the building industry by developing green rating systems that can be used to evaluate the environmental performance of new and existing building. This paper discusses material resources criteria and the impact as a sustainable rating tool.

With our country economy has already came second in the world, urbanization development, but the rapid economic development also brings great hidden trouble, for example, the environmental problems, the population problem, such as water pollution problems. Which is closely related to the construction industry, therefore, make the green building industry, environmental protection and governance environment in China, such as water pollution problem plays an important role. This article is through the introduction to green materials, the classification of the new green building materials to do an overview.

The green materials of alumina (Al2O3) and titania (TiO2) are to be well received in the modern building. Control of fabrication parameters when preparing small-scale samples for academic research is not difficult. In mass production environments, however, maintenance of the stable parameters becomes the critical issues. An advance mold design may overcome the issues. In this article, we design the convenience molds that can maintain a constant current density and to facilitate the occurrence of electrochemical reactions in designated areas. The high quality and functional green building materials can therefore be easily fabricated.

The purpose of this study is to propose a method of environment assessment in the field of building materials within Korea Green Building Certification (G-SEED). The method of environment assessment in the field of building materials was examined using LEED of the United States and BREEAM of the United Kingdom, the representative environment-friendly building certification systems in other countries. Especially, each revision of BREEAM was investigated for assessment methods such as environment assessment guidelines and assessment programs. In addition, assessment process and items were analyzed in relation to BREEAM. As a result, for environment assessment in the field of building materials within G-SEED, the method of connecting essential elements such as building material assessment guidelines and database networks with G-SEED was proposed.

In order to achieve green building materials, energy conservation, waste reuse purposes. Use city sewage sludge as part of the raw materials for production of shale brick is studied by experiments adopted the different mixing ratio, find matching and the relationship between the compressive strength. Experimental results show that the shale powder to add quality percentage is 40% of dry sludge, formed a burning brick, brick of various performance accord with national standards, not only can save coal and mineral resources, improve the heat insulation brick, but also a lot of recycling of utilization of sludge.
