Electrochemical sensors and biosensors are analytical tools, which are in continuous development with the aim of generating new analytical devices which are more reliable, cheaper, faster, sensitive, selective, and robust than others. In matrices related to agroalimentary, environmental, or health systems, natural or synthetic compounds occur which fulfil specific roles; some of them (such as mycotoxins or herbicides) may possess harmful properties, and others (such as antioxidants) beneficial ones. This imposes a challenge to develop new tools and analytical methodologies for their detection and quantification. This review summarises different aspects related to the development of electrochemical sensors and biosensors carried out in Argentina in the last ten years for application in agroalimentary, environmental, and health fields. The discussion focuses on the construction and development of electroanalytical methodologies for the determination of mycotoxins, herbicides, and natural and synthetic antioxidants. Studies based on the use of different electrode materials modified with micro/nanostructures, functional groups, and biomolecules, complemented by the use of chemometric tools, are explored. Results of the latest reports from research groups in Argentina are presented. The main goals are highlighted.

The present work introduces a comparative study on the use of polymer nanocomposites containing clay minerals of different structure, such as montmorillonite and sepiolite as host solids for the templating synthesis of carbon-like materials from different organic precursors. Carbon-clay nanocomposites were obtained by polymerization of either acrylonitrile or sucrose previously inserted in the pores of the clay minerals, followed by their further thermal transformation in carbon-like compounds. Acid treatment of the resulting carbon-clay nanocomposites removes the inorganic templates giving carbon-like materials with different textural features. Polymer-clay, carbon-clay and carbon-like materials have been characterized by applying spectroscopic techniques as FTIR and in situ EIS (electrochemical impedance spectroscopy) and other structural, textural and analytical tools (chemical analysis, XRD, SEM-EDX, TEM-EDX, N2 adsorption isotherms,...). Electrochemical properties of these carbon-clay nanocomposites, as well as their templated carbonaceous materials and their use as electrode materials of different electrochemical devices such as rechargeable Li-batteries, supercapacitors and electrochemical sensors, are also discussed.

Trace elements, especially heavy metals, are considered to be one of the main sources of pollution in the environment since they have a significant effect on ecological quality. Commonly, the analytical methods for the determination of trace metals are the spectrometry techniques. While, the electroanalytical methods are recognized as a powerful technique for trace metals owing to its remarkable sensitivity, relatively inexpensive instrumentation, ability for multi-element determination at trace and ultra trace level. New alternative electrode materials are highly desired to develop sensitive stripping sensors for meeting the growing demands for on-site environmental monitoring. Dyes aromatic heterocyclic compound, used in food, textile and cosmetic industries has been used for spectrophotometric determination of metals. In electrochemitry, methods for metals determination based on their complexation with dyes were proposed. In this chapter, a brief summary of spectrometry methods and electrochemical sensors for heavy metals detection based on the formation of metals dyes complexes is presented.

Introduction. The most important factors for “financial health” of the company are effectively structured cash flows, precondition for sustainable growth and achievement of high end results of economic activity as a whole. Knowledge and practical use of modern methods of organization and efficient management of cash flows enables transition of the company to a new quality of economic development. Purpose. The aim of the article is the research and development of theoretical, methodological and practical recommendations concerning the organization of the management process of cash flows at the enterprise. Results. Methodology of traditional assessment of financial stability of the enterprise, its elements and the factors influencing it can significantly complement and improve through the use of advanced mathematical models that allow to analyze the accuracy and objectivity of expert assessments for determination the level of the financial condition of the enterprise. Conclusion. The system of indicators used in the analysis of cash flows at the enterprises is investigated and systematized. It is advisable to choose those indicators from the total aggregate of indicators that are the most attracted to specific users of accounting information. Methods for analyzing cash flow is supplemented as regards the determination of the integral index of financial stability, which makes it possible to install ranked of the investigated enterprise. Proposals for amendments the methodological approaches to estimating of future cash flows will allow more effectively increase usefulness and reliability of accounting and analytical information for making management decisions.
