This research focuses on the design, construction, and validation of a questionnaire that seeks to analyse the perception of the landscape amongst undergraduates studying for a Degree in Primary School Teaching at Salamanca University. The process has involved using both qualitative and quantitative techniques to test the content’s validity and the construct’s reliability and suitability through the participation of a panel of expert judges and a sample of 432 subjects. This has been followed by the introduction of an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) of the data provided by the cohort that has led to a study of the questionnaire’s core characteristics, a reduction in its size, and the validation of its pertinence.

Prospective teachers’ attitudes and beliefs regarding self-efficacy beliefs become the basis of their attitudes in their professional lives, as they affect their students’ attitudes and self-efficacy. The aim of this study is to determine the primary teacher training students’ attitudes towards mathematics and self-efficacy beliefs regarding teaching math and the relationship among them. The “Relational Scanning Model” is used in the study. Data is collected from 290 students who were studying in the Primary Education Department of 9 Eylül University, Buca Faculty of Education. Mathematics Attitude Scale and Self-efficacy Belief Scale towards Teaching Mathematics are used to gather data. SPSS 22 was used for data analyses. T-test used for identifying significance of differences, and the Pearson correlation coefficient by means of different aspects. Results showed no differences by gender in attitudes towards math and self-efficacy beliefs regarding teaching math of the students who completed the survey. However, although Primary Education prospective teachers scores were higher in their attitude points and self–efficacy towards math teaching, a significant difference between pre-school and primary school prospective teachers. Besides, results revealed a relationship between attitude and self-efficacy beliefs regarding math. To further research, it is recommended that the same surveys should be done with different groups and the larger sample sizes

Since it relies on verbal and non-verbal communication, the teaching process is significantly determined by their characteristics and quality. Although these two types of communication are intertwined in the classroom and their roles are dialectically connected, non-verbal communication and some of its signs are often unjustifiably considered less important. Therefore, this paper will focus on facial expressions as one of the most significant types of non-verbal signs used in teaching. The goal of this paper is to determine teachers' perceptions of the importance of facial expressions and the type of feedback that it most often helps to obtain during the teaching process. The research sample consists of 107 primary school teachers from the territory of the Nis' School Administration. The results of this research show that teachers recognize the role of facial expressions in teaching and that the feedback they most often receive through facial expressions is related to the students' feelings and their cognitive activities. Moreover, it was found that the students' age, that is, the level of schooling, significantly determines the diversity of their perceptions on this issue.

Objectives: Few adolescent-specific depression screening instruments have been developed in recent years using multi-method approaches (qualitative and quantitative), and some of those available have limitations with an adolescent audience. We describe the development of a potential measure – the Taouk Scale for Adolescent Depression. Methods: Draft items were informed by findings from focus groups and reviews by adolescents and healthcare professionals, resulting in a provisional 97-item scale. This was administered to a nation-wide sample of 3087 secondary students. Exploratory factor analysis was used in a development subset to examine dimensionality of items and reduce their number, with the final item set evaluated in a validation subset. Results: Four reliable factors – negative outlook, emotional distress, behavioural changes and cognitive and somatic disturbances – were obtained from the exploratory factor analysis, resulting in a 28-item instrument, which was corroborated by confirmatory factor analysis. The final scale includes a number of novel items not included in current measures, i.e., whether respondents wear more black clothing than usual, deliberately damage property, take more risks, ‘space out’ at school and are engaged in substance abuse and/or increased sexual activity. Conclusion: The Taouk Scale for Adolescent Depression demonstrated sound psychometric properties and may have utility for future screening and future epidemiological purposes. It appears to be a valid and reliable screening instrument for adolescent depression that includes a number of novel items. Further research is necessary to confirm its criterion validity in clinically depressed samples.

Purpose: Research indicates that physical education can be an effective setting for promoting positive values, attitudes, and behaviors that transfer to other settings. However, there is a lack of instrumentation to assess the cognitive and motivational aspects of the transfer process. Therefore, this study proposed and validated the Transfer of Responsibility Questionnaire (ToRQ).Methods: After instrument development and pilot testing, an initial version of the ToRQ was completed by 442 adolescents. Data analysis began with exploratory factor analysis followed by confirmatory factor analysis. Results: The exploratory factor analysis yielded a stable three-factor structure that measured the participants’ cognitive and motivational processes related to transfer. This factor structure was affirmed using confirmatory factor analysis, which also examined convergent and discriminant validity.Discussion/Conclusion: The model was a good fit for the data, and the ToRQ correlated positively with related scales from an existing life skill transfer survey. These analyses support the initial validation of the ToRQ.

The Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire (DEBQ) is a measure of styles of eating. It is widely used in Russia for researches but there is not any adaptation and validation. This study aim was to test reliability of DEBQ and scales, check its internal structure and inspect a convergent validity. Reliability measure was Alpha Cronbach’s, Exploratory factor analysis was used for exploring internal structure. Exploratory factor analysis supported five-factor structure even after rotation. Then four items which had poor loadings were removed from analysis. Re-run EFA showed three-factor structure according three scales. Alpha Cronbach’s is 0.92.Cultural and sexual differences were found.

The aim of this study is to develop a scale for assessing the policy implementation performance of public primary school leaders in Malaysia. The “Implementation Leadership Scale (ILS)” by Aarons, Ehrhart and Farahnak (2014) and part of the “Teacher’s Competency Scale” by Ghafar (2015) were adapted and customised to suit the context of the study in measuring school leaders' policy implementation performance. The respondents were 228 senior primary school leaders who included headmasters and senior teacher assistants in three categories: academic, student affairs, and co-curriculum. Clustered random sampling was used to select the respondents. Results of the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) revealed six underlying components of policy implementation performance with 38 indicators, the first four of which are proactive, knowledgeable, supportive, and perseverance implementation leadership. The last two components are ability to perform and standard of performance. Evidently, the six components explained 65.1% of the total variance. The reliability of the policy implementation performance construct was 0.95, while that of other constructs ranges from 0.79 to 0.89. In addition to contributing further insight to the current literature on policy implementation performance, the results also provide a reliable source of information to researchers and professional practitioners of educational policies for future research in policy implementation performance. Keywords: Educational policy, policy implementation, policy implementation performance, implementation leadership, scale development

As a result of globalization, talented employees have been needed in the workplace anymore. With being hired of talented employees, new understanding of management has appeared and talent management has gained importance due to this new understanding. Talent management is a kind of management understanding according to which employees feel motivated and have desire to move forward by taking the initiative, trust in their knowledge and expertise has increased, they believe that they can control the incidents and the conditions which enable them to fulfill the tasks which are suitable and meaningful for them for the sake of organizational purposes have been composed (Doğan, 2006). Talent management is composed of a five-step process, which these steps are hiring, keeping, improving, performance and strengthening personnel. The purpose of this study is to adapt the scale which was used by Oehley (2007) in the thesis of “The Development and Evaluation of a Partial Talent Management Competency Model” for prospective teachers in Turkey. The adaptation study was conducted with 133 prospective teachers who are continuing their education in the Faculty of Education of Sinop University. In the adaptation study, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted. The original scale is composed of 44 items. In the first step of the adaptation study, 40 items are included in the Turkish form with regard to expert opinions. As a result of exploratory factor analysis conducted, item 8 was excluded from the scale. The scale has come up with 8 sub-dimensions as it is in the original scale. To test its accuracy, confirmatory factor analysis was conducted for 39 items.
