This paper is focused on a design of a high-voltage (HV) generator, which is proposed for a high-frequency irreversible electroporation (H-FIRE). The generator produces bursts of bipolar symmetrical pulses. Most HV sources used for cell electroporation are based on a controlled discharge of a capacitor into a resistive load. This solution is very simple, but it is associated with a certain risk of an uncontrolled discharge of the capacitor. We present a different type of the generator, where a DC-AC inverter with pulse transformer is used and where the mentioned risk is eliminated. Our generator is able to deliver bursts with variable length from 50 to 150 μs and a gap between bursts can be set from 0.5 to 1.5 s. Pulse frequency can be varied from 65 to 470 kHz and the output voltage is controlled in two ranges from 0 to 1.3 kV or from 0 to 2.5 kV. Results are presented with resistive load and with tissue impedance load.

High-voltage high-frequency power supply using voltage-fed load resonant inverter with a series-compensated resonant inductor has been developed for efficient atmospheric surface glow barrier discharges(ASGBD). It produces a controllable frequency and sinusoidal alternating voltage output. The maximum output voltage is about 6 kV peak to peak. Resonant power converter can be tune easily to the resonant frequency of the load. Operating frequency varies according to the load and voltage level typically in the range of 10 kHz and 1 MHz range. The output voltage is controlled by using pulse width modulation technique. The power supply developed in this paper is applied successfully for ozoniser that can produce high concentrate ozone by using ASGBD for agricultural industry applications.

A 60kV/6kW high voltage power supply for electronic beam welder (EBW) based on LC series resonance is designed. It adopts pulse frequency modulation (PFM) way to adjust the output voltage, and it has over-current and over-voltage protection. The test proves that high voltage power supply has reached zero current switching (ZCS) on and ZCS off, and satisfied the actual requirements of welding technology.

Various Resonant Converters for high voltage and high power applications have been designed. Different Topologies of LLC, LCC, and CLL Resonant Converters have been simulated and compared for the same input voltage. The simulation was done at a very high frequency. The Output Power and the Efficiency of all the three Resonant Converters were calculated. With the results, it has been proved that LCC Resonant Converters were very much suited to give an output voltage of around 62 Kilovolts with a output power of 20 kilowatts.
