A technique for calculating the parameters of a magnetic switch as an element of a generator of short high-voltage pulses of tension to coordinate its compatible work with a water treatment chamber by dint of pulse barrier discharge is shown. The expediency and efficiency of using such a switch as an element that, by shunting, the discharge chamber, discharges the barrier to the arrival of the next voltage pulse has been confirmed. It is proved that with the accepted geometrical dimensions of the discharge chamber and the amplitude of the pulse voltage, provided that the magnetic switch is present that it is possible to increase the practical use of electricity by ~ 40% due to that which was accumulated in the dielectric barrier in one discharge. Work objective is the determination of data on the frequency-domain behavior of components in the composition of the microcircuit and within the microcircuit as a whole, intended for using in DC voltage pulse converters. Research methods: simulation modeling. Research results and novelty: for microcircuits with an external frequency weighing network a frequency analysis scheme using an auxiliary operational amplifier and an active low-pass filter of the second order is proposed. Using a simulator in the LT-spice environment, the amplitude and phase frequency response data of the microchips of the step-down and step-up converters have been obtained. The possibility of technical implementation of the proposed scheme for experimental determination of frequency-domain behavior including final control of the parameters of the appropriate microchips has been noted. For microchips having built-in frequency weighing circuit, the possibility of determining frequency-domain characteristics during the formation of a test signal in an external control circuit has been confirmed. It is found that the use of this method for microchips with increased dynamic properties is problematic. Conclusion: the frequency analysis scheme using an auxiliary operational amplifier is suitable for both step-down and step-up DC/DC converters with an external frequency weighing network. This scheme can be recommended for experimental determination of frequency-domain behavior, including final control of the parameters of the appropriate microchips.

A method of adjusting the generating lines of a high-voltage pulse modulator with a thyristor switch at a charg-ing voltage of 150 V is given. The degree of pre-distortion is determined to obtain in the operating mode (60 kV) a voltage pulse with the required non-uniformity at the optimal value of the degaussing current of the trans-former. An element of fine tuning of forming lines at operating voltage is developed and applied.

Abstract The experimental results on the study of the positive ionization wave propagating along a long capillary tube are presented. The ionization wave was initiated by eigther high-voltage pulse of positive polarity applied over a long capillary tube with helium or high-voltage pulse applied over the same tube but in presence of low-current glow discharge. The spreading of this wave is accompanied by the surface charge deposition. The usage of the fine-sectioned outer electrode allows one to find out the features of the positive ionization wave in both cases (with or without low-current discharge).

Abstract This article presents the results of a study of the formation of a short rise time of a powerful nanosecond 410 kV pulse. Ferrite filled coaxial transmission lines with standard inner conductor and construction in the form of a spiral are designed. The sharpening of the pulse occurs due to the appearance of an electromagnetic shock wave in the ferrite. The value of the rise time at the level of 0.1 - 0.9 has been decreased from 4.5 to 2.5 ns.

Abstract Flow of runaway electrons (RAEs) propagating in a radial, air-filled gap of coaxial line (CL) changes the dynamics of breakdown in the field of traveling voltage pulse. However, despite the effect of RAEs, breakdown does not occur if subnanosecond pulse is less in duration and amplitude than some values. In this work, we study the influence of an external axial magnetic field (B z) on the breakdown development. We demonstrate the transformation of the voltage pulse reflection from the ionized (breakdown) zone with changing B z. Due to gyration of fast electrons in an applied magnetic field, the gas region ionized by RAEs does not reach the anode. The ionized bridge between the cathode and anode is gradually replaced by a near-cathode plasma layer representing a discrete, reflecting/absorbing inhomogeneity in the CL.
