A new species of genus Halectinosoma Vervoort, 1962 was collected from the east coast of Korea. The genus Halectinosoma comprises about 70 species, but only three species have previously been reported in East Asia. Halectinosoma munmui sp. nov. is morphologically most closely related to H. langi Wells 1967 from Inhaca Island, Mozambique, and H. oblongum (Kunz, 1949) from Heligoland island, Germany, however clearly distinguishable from it based on the following morphological characteristics: 5-segmented and elongated female antennule, mandible gnathobase without seta, about 5.6 times as long as the greatest width of the basis of the maxilliped, and outer seta of the P5 endopodal lobe longer than the inner seta. A key to species of the curticorne-group of Halectinosoma is provided.

Odontepyris costatus sp. nov. is described from Japan and Taiwan. This new species is most similar to O. formosicola Terayama, 1997 known from Cambodia and Taiwan according to the key to the Eastern Palaearctic Odontepyris. O. costatus sp. nov. can be distinguished from the latter by the relatively small eye and the wide metapectal-propodeal disc. It is also similar to O. telortis Lim & Lee, 2009 known from South Korea, but it is distinguished from O. telortis by the imbricate median area of metapostnotum. The morphological variations and diagnostic characters of the Eastern Palaearctic species are briefly discussed and the modified key to species is provided. Key words: new species, Japan, Taiwan, wing venation

Pteroptyx maipo sp. nov. is the first record of the genus Pteroptyx Olivier from mainland China and Hong Kong and represents the most northerly record for this genus. The description includes all life stages: egg, larva, pupa and adult, and covers special structures such as the female bursa plates and male copulatory clamp. Details of habitat, male courtship flash patterns and male-female courtship behaviour are described. This species is the second in the genus Pteroptyx found to use a copulatory clamp, which functions to wedge the mating pair together. A complete clamp however does not appear necessary for successful insemination. Bursa plates hold the spermatophore partially projecting into a spermatophore-digesting gland. Other functions for the plates are investigated and discussed. The deflexed elytral apex appears after eclosion in the adult male. Mechanisms for the loss of ventrite 8 in the male abdomen are explored. A list of the 30 Pteroptyx species recognised here, with habitats, some morphological characteristics and a key to species of the Oriental Pteroptyx are provided.

A new pectinariid polychaete, Lagis plurihamus sp. nov., is reported from intertidal habitats in the southern and western coasts of Korea. Lagis plurihamus sp. nov. is clearly distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following morphological features: the cephalic veil bears usually 10–15 cirri; two pairs of thoracic branchiae are present on the segments 3 and 4; the scaphe is robust with 9–14 delicate scaphal hooks; the scaphal anal flap has a dorsal anal cirrus and fringed margin. Previously described species of Lagis from East Asia, L. bocki (Hessle, 1917) and L. crenulatus Sun & Qiu 2012 together with the newly described species L. plurihamus sp. nov., all have both short, recurved notochaetae with bordered serrations and long, straight notochaetae with fine serrations. We provide detailed description and illustrations with SEM photographs for the new species. A revised key to all Lagis species is also provided with a comparison of the morphological characteristics of them.

A new species, Maerua koratensis (Capparaceae), only known from a restricted locality in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, eastern Thailand, is here described and illustrated. This is the second species of Maerua to be described from South-East Asia. This new species is distinguished by the simple leaves, petaliferous flowers with distinctly 4-lobed laciniate disc, and cylindrical, torulose to moniliform fruits. Morphological characteristics of M. koratensis and M. juncea subsp. juncea, its most similar, are compared. A key to the Maerua species occurring in mainland South-East Asia is provided.

Zelleria Stainton, 1849 from the East Asia is reviewed. Zelleria asiatica Na, Bae & Ponomarenko, sp. nov. is described from Korea and Russia. Three species are redescribed and provided with a key to species, illustrations of adult, male and female genitalia, diagnoses, and descriptions. Z. japonicella Moriuti, 1977 is reported from Korea for the first time.

A new species, Emerita taiwanensis sp. nov., is described from Taiwan and represents the first record of the genus from East Asia. The species differs from its congeners by having (1) a long and sharply triangular median frontal lobe, which is approximately equal in length to the lateral lobes, (2) the highest ratio of the maximum length of the merus of the 3rd maxilliped to that same segment’s maximum width, (3) a narrow and elongate P1 dactylus, combined with a ratio of the P1 dactylus length to its maximum width of approx. 2.78, (4) 1-3 spines present on the inner margin of the P1 dactylus, and (5) a peculiar colour pattern on the dorsum of the carapace. A comparison of the morphological characters of the present species with those of its congeners with a similar, elongate P1 dactylus is presented in the form of a table.

Abstract—Justicia rubrobracteata, a new species from northeastern Brazil, is described and illustrated. The new species is morphologically similar to J. aequilabris due to its shrubby habit, and terminal and axillary spicate inflorescences with red flowers. However, J. rubrobracteata is differentiated mainly by the shape and color of its bracts and bracteoles as well as an orangish macula in the corolla, and a torulose capsule. In addition, J. rubrobracteata is only known from northeastern Brazil, from the states of Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte, while J. aequilabris is widely distributed in Bolivia, Brazil, and Paraguay. A table with the main morphological characters of both species is included, as well as photographs, a key to species of Justicia for the states of Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte in northeastern Brazil, a distribution map of both species, and conservation data for the new species.

Leptochelia Vatulelensis(Crustacea: Tanaidacea), A New Species From Anchialine Caves of the South-Western PacificLeptochelia vatulelensisn. sp., discovered on the small islands of Vatulele (Fijian group) and Ouvéa (Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia), is described and illustrated. The new species is distinguished from the others of the"Leptochelia-dubiagroup" (to which it is generally similar) by the following combination of morphological characteristics: (1) the presence of three to four distal setae on the maxilliped basis; (2) merus of pereopods III and IV with only a distosternal seta; (3) endopod of the uropods formed of four (rarely three) articles; (4) males with two (sometimes three) relatively short aesthetascs on the first five articles of the antennular flagellum; (5) male cheliped with a diminished dimorphism; (6) males with a vertical comb-row of setae on the cheliped propodus. Although it inhabits inland, anchialine caves, the new species lacks morphological features that are characteristic of some cave species.

A review of species of the genus Blera Billberg, 1820 known from China is given. A new species, Blera longiseta sp. nov., is described. Three species, B. japonica (Shiraki, 1930), B. nitens (Stackelberg, 1923) and B. violovitshi Mutin, 1991, are recorded for the first time from China. An illustrated key to species is provided.

Two braconid genera from the subfamily Alysiinae, Lodbrokia Hedqvist, 1962 and Asyntactus Marshall, 1898, are recorded in the fauna of Russia and in the Asian continent for the first time. A new species Lodbrokia uralica sp. nov. is described from the Urals, and a key to species of this genus is provided. Redescriptions of the female and male of Asyntactus rhogaleus Marshall, 1898 with information about the level of variability of its morphological characters are given. Asyntactus sigalphoides Marshall, 1898 is synonymised with A. rhogaleus Marshall, 1898 (syn. nov.).
