In order to promote the efficient use of reclaimed water in China and make water resources allocation better structured, this paper analyzed the factors that drive and restrain the current utilization of reclaimed water and unveiled their correlation and hierarchy in a way to develop a non-recursive structural framework of what drives and restrain reclaimed water use. By structural equation modeling (SEM), the transmission path of affecting factors was identified, the contribution of the factors quantified, and key indicators for potential prediction selected. On that basis, a random-effects model (REM) was built to predict the potential availability of the country’s reclaimed water. Meanwhile, parametric confidence intervals at 10–90% quantile levels were described, given the uncertainty of REM parameters. The results showed that four indicators for potential prediction, namely the total amount of wastewater treated, the density of water pipelines in built-up areas, investment in facilities for reclaimed water treatment, and the processing of applications for water treatment patents, are intertwined with the utilization of reclaimed water. Overall, the REM for potential prediction produced more precise fitting results, with the most significant fitting error standing at 5.9%. Going ahead, China is set to maintain the rapid growth in reclaimed water use, and up to 13.7 billion cubic meters of reclaimed water is expected to be available by 2025. This will help better structure the urban water supply and render regional water recycling more efficient.

Tourism has been experiencing a rapid increase in the developed world, especially in China, and resident perceptions toward tourism development have been receiving increasing attention. However, resident perceptions on a large scale and the associated affecting factors remain unknown. In this study, 63 independent samples across China were analyzed using structural equation modeling, and the effects of three factors of per capita gross domestic product (GDP), tourist receipts and length of tourism development from the perceptive of economy, society and culture, and environment were investigated. Residents demonstrated a positive attitude toward tourism development on a large scale across China. However, the resident perceptions were GDP-dependent, which indicated a lower awareness of infrastructure improvement with the increase in GDP. Meanwhile, residents became more aware of environmental deterioration and social-order disturbance with the increase in the length of tourism development and tourist receipts. In addition, tourist receipts and length of tourism development exerted indirect effects on other perceptions by affecting the perception of environmental deterioration and economic improvement. Our results implied that to minimize the effect of negative perception, attention should be paid to the optimization of the perceptions of economic improvement and environmental deterioration, and the protection of the residential environment should be viewed as a high-priority task in improving resident perceptions.

Crowdfunding become one of the most effective alternatives for raising funds, although it is not a new phenomenon in developed and developing countries but seems to be new in Nigeria. As such, the study aims to propose Shariah framework that addresses conventional debt and equity crowdfunding, instead, using Murabaha as debt, Mudarabah and Musharakah as equity model and further measure the level of awareness and trust towards behavioural intention towards crowdfunding in Northern Nigeria. The sample was collected from 2730 purposively selected and used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) for data analysis. Findings, revealed that the proposed structural framework of crowdfunding proved to enhance entrepreneur vision for raising investment fund based on Shariah-compliant in Northern Nigeria. Further indicates, lack of awareness and inappropriate use of internet platform resulted in perceived entirely irrelevant investment opportunities and developed fair to invest online. Practical implications: The paper provides awareness and trust on how to improve debt and equity-based crowdfunding for a fundraiser and successful funding a business structure based on Shariah compliant. Originality/Value: the study makes significant contribution towards propose Shariah framework of crowdfunding in Nigeria, and it provides awareness and trust to Nigerian Muslims entrepreneurs as in line with Shariah-compliant.JEL Classification: E4, O31, O35

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to reinforce the experiential paradigm from which academics and practitioners currently explain consumer decision making in touristic activities. More specifically, this research brings new insights for understanding consumption experience. The aim is to establish the relationships between experience, satisfaction, destination attachment, and word-of-mouth. Design/methodology/approach The paper presents a rich literature review on experience concept and its consequences. Besides, a quantitative study was conducted among tourists having chosen a specific destination for their holidays. Data were collected through a questionnaire translated into three languages about a sample of 303 individuals. The methodology consisted of an exploratory phase (SPSS) for establishing scales dimensionality, a structural equation modeling (AMOS) for validating empirically our structural framework, with respect of thresholds and the rigourous analysis methodology. Findings The research has highlighted consequences of experience related by a trip, such as satisfaction, destination attachment, and word-of-mouth. Indeed, intellectual, emotional, and tribal components of experience are significantly related to satisfaction. Intellectual component is also significantly related to destination attachment, and satisfaction generates attachment and word-of-mouth. Research limitations/implications In addition to sample size and study context, it would be interesting to carry out multi-group analyses to observe significant differences in reference to gender, age, or motivation travel. Similarly, observing moderating role of individual variables such as need for cognition, seeking variety, self-exposure, etc., may explain relationship intensity between experience and satisfaction. Originality/value The paper intends to give an understanding of experience consequences. It provides to managers in tourism domain, orientations related to communication and strategies’ content and direction.

Abstract BackgroundThe aim of the present study was to determine the factors affecting the abuse of the elderly by family caregivers among the elderly with hemodialysis (HD) using structural equation modeling.MethodThe study is descriptive-cross sectional, which is conducted in 2018 in Iran. The sample size was 367 in both groups (the elderly and their family caregivers). Data collection was done using an individual-social information questionnaire for the older adults under hemodialysis and their family caregivers, the questionnaire of elder abuse by family caregivers to the older people under hemodialysis, Zarit Burden Interview and the scale of instrumental activities of Daily Living (IADL). Data were analyzed by the SEM method. The Fitness of proposed pattern was measured using the following indexes: Chi-squared degree of freedom ratio (CMIN/DF), Parsimonious Normed Fit Index (PNFI), Comparative Fit Index (CFI), Parsimonious Comparative Fit Index (PCFI), Incremental fit index (IFI), Goodness of Fit Index (GFI) and Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA). The significant level in this study was considered p <0.05.ResultsThe results of the present study showed that more than 70% of the elderly suffer from elder abuse by family caregivers on average. The highest median elder abuse was related to emotional misbehavior (21.46±6.09) and financial misbehavior (19.07±5.33), respectively. 63.2% of caregivers have experienced moderate care burden. 81.4% of women and 80.5% of older men needed help with daily activities. The results showed that the caregivers’ level of education and care burden with standard beta coefficient of -0.251 and 0.200 and the level of elderly’s education and IADL with the best beta coefficient of -0.299 and -0.234, had the highest regression effect on elder abuse respectively. According to the results, the model-fit indices of the hypothesized model was meet the criteria, with the PNFI= 0.746, PCFI= 0.796, IFI= 0.963, GFI=0.970, CFI=0.967, and RMSEA= 0.075. The outcome was suitable for the recommended level, so the hypothetical model appeared to fit the data.ConclusionProviding psychological interventions for family caregivers can reduce the burden when the elderly suffers from other chronic illnesses.

This study measures key indicators of perceived precarity and decent working conditions and their relative effects on life satisfaction of workers in small and medium-sized enterprises. Using a random sample survey, we interviewed 103 workers in four districts of Sylhet division in Bangladesh. Utilizing Smart PLS application for structural equation modeling, we iterated the samples 1000 times which resulted in a new sample size standing at 499. We used a Likert-type five-point scaling technique, with appropriate items related to the latent constructs of the model, for path analysis. We found perceived precariousness has the highest causal relations with a path coefficient of 0.706 with social dialogue (an indicator of decent working conditions) followed by 0.539 with working hour issue, 0.345 with life satisfaction and 0.301 with the unacceptable work issue. The importance-performance map analysis confirms that perceived precarity is the most critical construct for worker’s life satisfaction. Thus, in a ceteris paribus situation, an increase of one point in the performance on the perceived precarity is expected to increase in the performance on the life satisfaction by a total effect level of 0.428. Therefore, we recommend further attention should be paid by the policymakers to the issue of consciousness of the precarity at the workplace for a better life satisfaction of workers.

Decision support and business intelligence systems have been increasingly adopted in organizations, while understanding the nature of affecting factors on such adoption decisions need receiving much academic interest. This article attempts to provide an in-depth analysis toward understanding the critical factors which affect the decision to adopt business intelligence (BI) in the context of banking and financial industry. In this regard, it examines a conceptual model that shows the impacts of different technological, organizational, and environmental factors in the decision to adopt BI by a firm. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used for data analysis and test the relevant hypothesis. The results of this article which are derived from theoretical discussion of hypothesizes show that from nine hypothesized relationships—perceived tangible and intangible benefits, firm size, organizational readiness, strategy, industry competition and competitors absorptive capacity—affect BIS adoption in the surveyed cases.
