RESEARCH SKILLS -IN RELATION TO THE USE OF ICT- STUDENTS DEVELOP CAREERS IN COMPUTER PROFILE ABSTRACT In educational research, it is argued potential offered by information and communications technology (ICT) and especially social and academic networks in developing research skills of students. A literature review was performed, demonstrating that they have not determined which of these skills (associated with the use of ICT), to be developed in the students according to the curriculum requirements of computer engineering. Therefore, it was determined as a research problem: what research skills associated with the use of ICT should be developed in the students of computer engineering or similar profiles? The object of the research is to develop research skills in computer engineering; the field of action: research skills associated with the use of ICT. The objective is to determine research skills associated with the use of ICT should be developed in the students of computer engineering or similar profiles. In this paper presents a set of research skills associated with the use of ICT and their respective indicators. KEYWORDS: students; development; computer engineering; research skills; information and communications technology.

The role of CIO has been around for a little more than 20 years. In that time it has evolved significantly. Much has been written about the specific challenges faced by incumbents, describing the characteristics needed to be a business-focused executive leading a technology-intensive function. One aspect that has not been given enough consideration is that, because of the specific nature of role and use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in organisations and the different strategic and tactical issues faced by a CIO, the most needed characteristics may vary according to time and circumstance. Eight specific challenges that make the role difficult are identified and different perspectives on the competencies needed are reviewed. This paper, through literature review and discussion, examines the specific challenges faced by ICT leaders and suggests that a range of personal characteristics are needed for long term success and that these can be compared to key features of the humble chameleon: 1. The ability to change 2. The ability to see in multiple directions 3. The ability to strike fast when required, and 4. The ability to hang on when the going gets tough!

AbstractThis paper presents data and analysis from survey research conducted by the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Information and Communications Technology Access for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Access for Community Living, Health and Function (LiveWell RERC) on the perceptions and attitudes of clinical professionals in rehabilitation medicine regarding mobile health (mHealth) and mobile rehabilitation (mRehab) practices, techniques and technology in the United States. The analytical focus of this paper is on two key survey questions related to specific barriers and opportunities (most critical use-cases) for adopting mHealth/mRehab interventions. We present response data to these two questions segmented by clinical specialty – physical, occupational, speech and recreation therapy – to identify possible variation between and among these rehabilitation professions. This analysis provides a detailed map of the terrain of clinician expectations and experiences for the adoption and implementation of mHealth/mRehab interventions in the United States, and possibly other countries. Results show substantial support for mRehab interventions and technologies across all four clinical specialties. The most frequently identified barriers to effective use of mobile and internet technologies to support patients remotely focused on patients (ability to learn and use the technology, and internet access), not clinicians. The was more variability among clinical specializations regarding best use-cases. Tracking patient adherence to prescribed activities and supporting patients in the home and community were the most frequently cited best use cases across the whole sample.

Didactic uses of ICT for the formation of readers in the process of literary education Abstract: This work attempts to describe the potential didactic uses of Information and Communications Technology ICT to form literary readers in the process of literary education. As there is currently a large amount of didactic resources and proposals which include the use of ICT, it is necessary to outline a panorama which clarifies those resources found on the internet and the virtual world helpful to the teaching of literature and what kinds of learning are enhanced by their didactic use. This study proposes three main didactic uses from the resources and proposals analysed: ICT for information, ICT for socialisation and ICT for creation. Key words: Internet; Literary Education; ICT; Didactic Materials; Literary Readers Formation
