This research aims to examine the experimental studies on the impact of simulation technique on students' academic achievement using the meta-analysis method. The previous studies that could be meta-analyzed were examined based on the criteria set out in this study. Finally, 91 studies that were conducted between 2010-2020 years and met the inclusion criteria were subjected to meta-analysis. The sample of the research consisted of 7575 participants. According to the results of the analysis performed using the random-effects model, the mean effect size was calculated as g=0.759 with a standard error of 0.075. Based on the findings, the simulation technique can be said to have a broad impact on students' academic achievement. The results of the publication bias analysis revealed that the present meta-analysis study had no publication bias. On the other hand, the results of the moderator analysis revealed that the impact of the simulation technique on the students' academic achievement did not differ by the teaching levels, course/subject area, and application times, however, it differed by the sample size.

The purpose of this study was to (1) assess the impact of using Dynamic Geometry Software (DGS) on students’ mathematical abilities, (2) determine the differences in effectiveness based on study characteristics in order to help educators decide under what conditions the use of DGS would be suitable in improving students' mathematical abilities. This meta-analysis study investigates 57 effect sizes from 50 articles that have been published in journals, international and domestic proceedings from 2010 to 2020 using the Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) tool as a calculation tool. Meanwhile, the Hedges coefficient is applied to the calculation of the effect size at the 95% confidence level. Based on a random effect model with a standard error of 0.09, the analysis results have found an overall effect size of 1.07. This means that learning using DGS has a high positive effect on students' mathematical abilities. The effect size of 1.07 explains the average student who uses DGS exceeds 84% math ability of those in conventional classes that are initially equivalent. Analysis of the study characteristics found significant differences in terms of sample size, student to computer ratio, and education level. This research showed the DGS used was more effective under certain conditions. First, it is very effective in sample conditions less than or equal to 30. Second, it provides classrooms with a sufficient number of computers, allowing students to use them individually, which is required to achieve higher effectiveness levels. Third, DGS is effective in high schools and colleges than in junior high schools. These facts can help educators in deciding on the appropriate sample sizes, student to computer ratios, and future levels of education in using DGS.

This meta-analysis study synthesizing the results of experimental and quasi experimental studies examined the effects of self-assessment interventions on student academic performance from primary education to higher education. A total of 16 studies with 46 effect sizes involving more than 7,650 participants were included in the analysis. Research synthesis showed that an overall small influence of self-assessment interventions on academic performance (g=.37, p .05). Additionally, moderator analysis was used to examine moderating effects of some variables. The analysis indicated that traditional self-assessment interventions without external feedback have significantly a larger effect (g =.47, p.05) than self-assessment with external feedback (g=.28, p.05) on academic performance. However, effectiveness of other moderating variables (e.g. education level, assessment criteria type, self-assessment training) on academic performance were not statistically significant. The results suggest that further empirical studies are needed to reveal the moderating effects of self-assessment.

Background: COVID-19 pandemic has pulled us all a few steps back, were we never shake hands or hug each other when we meet our friends and family after a gap, but instead we greet them by saying Namaste and joining our hands together. As we all know, COVID-19 spreads through air and the only way to shield ourselves is by maintaining a safe distance from one another. Methodology: In order to conduct a meta-analysis on the number of COVID-19 cases in Kerala and India, the data was retrieved from various sites hosted by the government bodies. The data for analysis was collected from May 2020 to July 2020. The average number of days required to reach every 5000 fresh cases were also calculated using this data. COVID-19 has affected all the economy holistically regardless of financial, behavioral, or societal aspects. Conclusion: Lifting of the lockdown in a step by step process keeping in mind the necessities for the nation was a thoughtful act, but the people who mistook this opportunity and did not remain in quarantine after coming from abroad was recognized as the reasons behind the sudden and uncontrolled rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in Kerala, India. The government authorities had no other option but to lift the restrictions to reduce the economic burdens that had already affected the daily wage worker and farmers prompting them to give up their lives.

Psycholinguistic research into metaphor processing is burdened with empirical problems as experiments provide diverging evidence on the impact of conventionality, familiarity and aptness, and with conceptual issues as the interpretation and operationalization of the three concepts mentioned, as well as the related predictions which can be drawn from theories of metaphor processing, are controversial in the literature. This paper uses tools of statistical meta-analysis in order to bring us closer to the solution of these problems and reveal future lines of research.
