We use the Moodle at the University of Debrecen, Businessand Agricultural Department since January 2007. The Moodle is an open source Learning Management System. Learning Management System (or LMS) which is a software package, which enables the management and delivery of learning content and resources to students. Most LMS systems are web-based to facilitate „anytime, anywhere” access to learning content and administration. LMS tracks student progress in a course and indicates completions. At the least, learning management systemstrack individual student progress, record scores of quizzes and tests within an online learning program, and track course completions. The Moodle has more and more function at our Department in education. In January we worked to introduce Moodle in our Faculty. Therefore, we took lessons for the tutors about the usage of the Moodle. Our aim was to develop such a learning system, which is an integral part of  educational process,to improve the efficiency of agricultural higher education.

The advancement of information technology has changed the education landscape. The process of teaching is no longer the same. Information technology has made e-learning possible and available on a large scale. The main component of an e-learning is a learning management system (LMS). LMS has been widely used and are accessible through the Internet. By connected and accessed to the Internet, LMS are exposed to various threats. Proper understanding of these threats combined with strategy and best practices countermeasures will ensure a safe learning environment. Therefore this study will look into the information security aspect of LMS. There are two main purpose of this study. First, this study provides a review of information security in e-learning environments and explains the important of information security. Confidentiality, integrity and availability are considered to be the primary pillars of information security. In addition to these pillars, the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium introduced a common body of knowledge (CBK) comprised of ten domains relating to specific information security topics. These domains are the foundation of security practices for those involved in information security. In this article, each of these is explained within an e-learning context. It is recommended that institutions employing e-learning adhere to these domains. By applying the principles and practices associated with each domain, e-learning institutions should be able to provide an e-learning system with high confidentiality, integrity and availability. The second purpose of this study is to understand student perception of an information security perspective of an e-learning management system. To achieve this purpose, a survey was conducted targeted at undergraduate students in a distance learning program. 497 students responded to a survey questionnaires. Apart from demographics information, the survey asked the respondent to rate six statements related to how they perceived security of the learning management system which they are currently using. All six statements are rated using a five point Likert scale anchored at 1 (Not at all) to 5 (Very much). Frequencies analysis was conducted to show the profile of the respondent. Overall, respondent has strong positive perceptions towards security of their LMS. This study provides an overall picture of information security elements of a learning management system. It can serve as an introduction which help LMS administrator to understand the issues and possibilities related to the safety of LMS.

A Technique for User eXperience Evaluation in e-Learning (TUXEL) Versi 2.0.

The field mastery of technology, especially in the field of Information and Communication Technology, is one of the obligations for teachers to improve their competence. But at this time the teachers are still applying the conventional teaching model, for example when the teacher stands in front of the class then explains about the subject. This is good for students who pay attention what the material explained by teacher, but if there is the student who can not attend that class they will be missed the lesson. One of some ways to overcome this problem needs for an additional mechanism as an additional learning media as teacher assistants, especially for vocational teachers in SMK Masmur Pekanbaru. The additional learning media is a Learning Management System (LMS) based learning. LMS is a form of web-based computer software, by uploading it to the internet, the e-learning system will be accessible anywhere and anytime. This training is based on LMS where the teachers will use the Edmodo application. By using Edmodo, the teachers have more rights to regulate who can join the group that is created, can control the activities of their students, and can directly assess the tasks. It is expected that LMS-based learning with Edmodo application to be able to improve teachers professionalism and make the learning process in the classroom more efficient than before

Background: Assessment is one of the most important elements of any educational system, including the e-learning. Formative assessment is also a significant type of assessment, which plays a very important role in identifying students’ strengths and weaknesses and helping to improve learning in the e-learning system. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify weaknesses of formative assessment in the e-learning management system of Iran (case study: Shahid Beheshti University). Methods: The present study was qualitative research. The participants of the study consisted of the students of the e-learning Center of Shahid Beheshti University of Iran, 15 of whom were selected using a purposive sampling method. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect data. Content analysis was also used to analyze the data. Results: Formative assessment in the e-learning management system of Shahid Beheshti University suffers from eleven substantial weaknesses: weakness in technology infrastructure resources, not using other formative assessment tools, weakness in giving and receiving feedback, inability to authenticate, weakness in class presentations, weakness in exercises and projects, weakness in online tests, weakness in discussions, inattention to formative assessment, restrictions on uploading assignments and activities, and observance of the ratio of teachers to students. Conclusions: The above weaknesses should be taken into consideration for the improvement of formative assessment, student learning, and the status quo.

E-Learning is one of the solutions in current learning system. Implementation of electronic-based learning, teaching and learning process can be more varied at the same time can eliminate the saturation of learners. Implementation of E-Learning or well known as Learning Management System at Slamet Riyadi University Surakarta, so far not running maximally. Among the most fundamental features available are not in accordance with the standards of application of E-Learning. The solution for this problem is better to design a new system. The development model used is to adopt the Borg and Gall model with the outline of the prototype application. In developing this prototype, data collection needs of users is done to relevant stakeholders, namely Information Technology Education courses, students and lecturers as end users as well as experts in the field of IT and curriculum. The results showed, based on the questionnaire to end users can be concluded that the prototype offered can be accepted among the end users and experts. This is shown from the statistical results of the analysis of the influence between variables that are formulated. Hypothesis of influence between variables most or dominant produce prototype acceptable.
