This paper aimed to explore the variables that influenced the intention to quit the teaching profession among vocational teachers. Moreover, the researchers examined the differences in the perception of the levels of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, personal accomplishment, job satisfaction, and life satisfaction among vocational teachers in Thailand. The target population comprised vocational teachers from public colleges in Thailand with a total number of 29,915. The stratified random sampling technique was used for selecting the samples. The data collection involved self-report surveys from 510 vocational teachers from 55 vocational colleges in Thailand's metropolitan, north, northeast, east, and south. Correlation and regression analyses were used to examine the possible relationships among the variables and identify the significant variables. The findings reported that emotional exhaustion and depersonalization were moderate while personal accomplishment was at a high level. Job satisfaction was the strongest predictor of the intention to quit. In addition, three components of burnout influenced the intention to quit among the vocational teachers: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment. For the implication, this study recommended a practical application in the dimension of policy improvement concerning teachers' welfare. It emphasized the need to develop programs supporting teachers' mental health to reduce burnout and increase job satisfaction.

Teachers’ ways of using ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in various disciplines is a recent issue in the higher educational research paradigm. In order to extend previous findings in relation to this issue, this research proposes an in-depth investigation focusing on vocational teachers’ qualitatively diverse ways of using ICT in different disciplines. A cohort of 11 teachers from three TAFE (Technical and Further Education) institutions of NSW, Australia, were purposively chosen aiming to ensure adequate variations in disciplines, gender, and experience of using ICT. The phenomenographic research approach was considered as the theoretical and methodological underpinning which guided the participant selection, data collection and data analysis. The findings revealed that disciplines have very limited influence on using ICT in TAFE teaching. It further discerned four categories of description: tool, content, subject, and student focused. The findings provide useful information towards improving vocational teaching practices in different disciplines and working as an input for improving teacher professional development program (TPD). In order to generalise these findings, an extended research with a wider sample is recommended.

This study addresses the use of driving simulators in vocational education. The aim of the study is to use the experiences of vocational teachers and questions to identify critical aspects of simulator-assisted teaching. The Background section contains a description of studies regarding digitalisation within other educational contexts and teaching with simulators in other contexts as well as teacher competencies and the school’s quality measures. The study’s empirical evidence consists of observations and discussions with vocational teachers. The Results section contains an account of the vocational teacher’s questions in the form of identified problem areas. The Conclusions section of the study highlights simulator-assisted teaching and the importance of substantive aspects, as well as the connection to professional knowledge and competency, the possibility of adapting the teaching based on the needs of the student, and the consequences of the teaching for the professional skills and knowledge acquired by the student. The Discussion section addresses aspects such as teaching-related issues regarding transfer, the work of the vocational programme and the school with regard to the implementation of new technology in the teaching process, and the vocational teacher’s role and situation. In order to further develop knowledge about simulator-supported teaching in vocational education, more practice related studies of students' learning process and how the teaching contributes to the development of vocational skills are required.

Informatization has a profound impact on education. Comprehensively promoting teaching modernization with informatization is not only a new topic of the times, but also the only way for the modernization of vocational education. This paper studies the current situation of Higher Vocational Education in the information age. This paper analyzes the development process, path, typical practices and innovative experience of Vocational Teachers' modernization. At the same time, this paper focuses on the development and effectiveness of the e-learning space renrentong with Chinese characteristics and the vocational teaching informatization competition, and puts forward some strategies for optimal development on this basis. Realizing the modernization of teachers is the premise of teaching modernization. Therefore, the discussion on promoting the modernization of vocational teachers with informatization is also the core of this paper.

Industrial research for the purpose of talent training is one of the important ways to change the current irrational structure of teachers in my country's higher vocational education system. Aiming at the current shortage of practical skills among teachers in higher vocational colleges, the necessity of industrial research to promote the development of higher vocational education in my country is analyzed. On this basis, a strategic framework for higher vocational teachers to conduct industrial research for the purpose of vocational talent training has been constructed from the five fundamentals which are industry needs, industry frontiers and development trends, work tasks and processes, professional standards, and professional qualifications.

The initial study has found several fundamental problems related to the professionalism of vocational teachers. These problems are in the form of 1) unequal teachers in getting the opportunity to participate in competency improvement programs; 2) lack of awareness in conducting research; 2) lack of desire to write articles and teaching materials, and 3) low level of desire to design instructional media in the field of mechanical engineering expertise. The objectives of this study were to 1) test the efficiency and effectiveness of the capacity building model; 2) find the determinants of success in professional development, and 3) produce a model for professional development of vocational teachers in the field of mechanical engineering expertise through effective and efficient capacity building. This study uses the Research and Development method. The subjects in this study were teachers in the field of mechanical engineering expertise in Bireuen Regency, the principal, two education management experts, and two mechanical engineering vocational education experts. Data collection techniques used in this research are through observation, interviews, FGD, documentation and questionnaires. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the teacher capacity building model can improve teacher professionalism. These activities are carried out through the formation of learning communities, virtual self-education, writing, critical development groups, peer assistance, teacher exchanges, further studies, congregational action research, conferences and seminars, and ongoing training.

Chemical teaching materials don’t support the learning of nursing vocational competencies, so it is necessary to analyze the suitability of chemical content with nursing vocational content. This research aims to reconstruct elements of the chemical curriculum relevant to the competence of nursing vocational schools. The research design used is Developmental Research with the stages of design, development, and evaluation. The research was conducted at SMK Nusa Bhakti Bandung and SMKN 1 Koto Besar (Dharmasraya Regency). The study involved two chemistry education experts, six nursing vocational teachers, and six chemistry teachers in nursing. The research instruments used are formulation formats in the form of KD, chemical content, knowledge dimensions, learning strategies, and learning evaluations that have been validated. The data of the research results was analyzed in a qualitative descriptive way then used as input for product improvement. The results showed that design of KD, chemical content, knowledge dimensions, learning strategies, and learning evaluation developed have good relevance to the demands of nursing vocational competencies. Viewed from the validation of teachers in nursing vocational schools obtained good validation results.

Like in many Global South countries, the vocational education and training system in Kazakhstan has some weaknesses, including low-competent educators poorly applying digital technologies in their instructional repertoire, which highlights the need for motivating teachers towards incorporating technologies representing students' everyday life in the educational process. Meanwhile, there are no practically applicable competency frameworks for Kazakhstani vocational teachers to date. This paper aimed to gather students’ opinions on which skills are more or less important for vocational educators to outline a technological competency framework for Kazakhstani vocational teachers based on Digital Competency Profiler, with content validity tested by five experts. A set of nineteen items measured on a five-point Likert scale, organized into technical, communicational, informational, and epistemological domains, was uploaded to an online survey platform and distributed among Master degree students enrolled in vocational programs in Kazakhstan. Based on survey data, the construct validity of the model was assessed by confirmatory factor analysis, which yielded high entire reliability and internal consistency. The learners assigned importance to all the four domains. However, they estimated vocational teacher’s ability to utilize productivity tracking tools as almost futile, which allegedly indicates the surveyees’ insufficient awareness about those applications and their purposes. Generally, the participants tend to prioritize vocational educators’ capacities to process mathematical computations, visualize numerical data, and operate with electronic text files and projectors, as well as their readiness for effective communication through messengers and electronic mail. The framework that emerged from this research can be used as a blueprint for synchronizing and improving educational programs in Kazakhstan.   Keywords: education; survey; technology; ICT; vocational education and training.
