Assessment of stem wood quality in urban environment is relevant due to the fact that trees felled under increased wind load cause enormous damage to the city economy and lead to human losses. The aim of the study was to assess the viability of growing Scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) trees using pulsed tomography and drilling resistance measurements. Research in coniferous forest plots included the development during the construction of the city. Arbotom® equipment of the German company RINNTECH was used to study the trunk by pulsed tomography. Drilling method was used (Resistograph® 4450 device) to estimate the relative density of the stem wood. A total of 20 model trees were examined: 10 trees each on 2 test plots. An instrumental-visual description was compiled for each tree: height and diameter, girth of the trunk at the root neck and at breast height, the shape and length of the crown, the shape of the trunk, the presence of visible defects in the trunk were visually determined. It was found that the average speed of sound pulse in the wood of the studied model trees fluctuates in the range of 1003-1349 m/s. The research based on the data of instrumental study of the quality of stem wood (Scots pine) at the age of 60-70 under the conditions of intense exposure to industrial emissions and recreational load. Zones of local wood destruction have been clearly defined in the structure of the density distribution. Comparison of the results (obtained by two different assessment methods of wood state at the same object) shows high degree of comparability. The parallel use of two measuring instruments in assessing the growing tree state increases the accuracy of the obtained data and enables more reliable determination of emergency trees, areas of their maximum destruction and, as a consequence, the most probable direction of tree fall.

The article presents results of studying the impact of industrial emissions of the Apatit project (Murmansk region) on the fertility and sterility of pollen of Scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris L.). A low share of fertile pollen (49.3–57.4%) and high ratio of sterile pollen (42.6–50.7%) are revealed in the samples from the city of Apatity under study. The study calculated the palynotoxic effect of the industrial emissions. Shown the toxic effect of emissions of the apatite-nepheline complex on male gametophyte of Scotch pine and the process of gamete formation. The ecological safety of the city of Apatity is closely related to the problems of the complex use of apatite-nepheline ores and the minimization of storage of waste in tailing dumps.

As a result of exposure to plants of various factors associated with anthropogenesis, a huge amount of pollen grains with altered morphological structures and biochemical properties is produced, which affects its fertility and the normal functioning of phytocoenoses. In the present work, using the example of Pinus sylvestris L. growing on the territory of the city of Barnaul as a model object, the possibility of using the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of pollen of plants depending on the state of the bioindication of the state of the environment (primarily atmospheric air) is substantiated. The data used for the analysis were obtained during the six seasons of flowering of Pinus sylvestris (May–June 2010–2015) in six permanent and nine additional observation points in the city of Barnaul located in the territory with a tense and critical ecological state of the landscapes. An analysis of the quality of the pollen was carried out by selecting it directly from the anthers during the active dusting period. As a control, pollen samples collected in the countryside of the Barnaul pine forest belt, which is an isolated and remote vegetation site relative to the industrial zone of Barnaul and large motor roads, were used. As a result of the research, it was found that the points with the highest pollen sterility and teratomorphic grain areas in the zone of very unfavorable ecological situation, which correspond to the areas of the greatest air pollution. More negative impact is shown in the territories located in an accessible proximity to motorways and parking lots. The proportion of sterile and teratomorphic pollen grains at such points is much higher than the reference values, which indicates a large share of the negative impact of emissions of mobile sources of atmospheric air pollution (vehicles) on the change in the morphological, biological and physical characteristics of Scotch pine pollen. Thus, palynoindication analysis can be one of the methods of bioindication of the state of the environment (primarily atmospheric air), as the most accessible and effective method of research and monitoring.

The article presents the results of a bioindication study of atmospheric air pollution on the condition of pine needles (Pinus sylvestris L.) on the example of the city of Orsk, Orenburg region. The city of Orsk is a major industrial center of the Southern Urals. The research was carried out on 6 sites located within the city with different anthropogenic loads. The research method is based on the direct dependence of damage to Pinus sylvestris L. needles (necrosis and desiccation) on the level of atmospheric air pollution. Analyzed the morphological characteristics of the needles of Pinus sylvestris L. in the studied areas. The result of the study is an assessment of the state of atmospheric air. The aim of this study was to analyze the level of satisfaction in three municipal sports centers in the city of Malaga and to learn and analyze the characteristics of users older than 40 years of age in these centers. A total of 303 persons (123 men and 180 women) from three sports centers in the city of Malaga participated in this study (M = 58.14, SD = 7.16 years). The Evaluation of Perceived Quality in Sports Services test (CECASDEP) was used, and the results demonstrated that the different dimensions studied—sports center, activity space, locker rooms, program of activities, and trainer—were very positively correlated. The level of customer loyalty increased with user satisfaction and perceived quality of services as well as the age of the person. Users were also found to be more motivated to take part in physical activities due to greater satisfaction. The highest scores were given to the trainers, who played a key role in all three sports centers. In conclusion, we gathered important insights into perceived quality in different sports centers. This information can be used by sports managers to strengthen dimensions with lower scores and improve those with higher scores. In addition, the study confirms that the level of customer loyalty is related to the perceived quality scores. Therefore, the use of measuring instruments is recommended to optimize the quality of sports services.
