The problem of urban solid waste (RSU) is one of the concerns of contemporary society and a global challenge to public management, the transition from rural to urban, changed consumption patterns. This research aims to disseminate what occurs daily in solid waste landfills, and to publicize another vision regarding the final disposal of municipal solid waste, such as the municipality of Xalisco, Nayarit; in this regard, it is relevant to raise the work of the pepenadores in the framework of a formalized exercise, in which they are guaranteed equal opportunities, work-based remuneration, job stability, social security, training and Rest.

The aim is to describe the main characteristics that portray the local situation. The study provides a theoretical survey on environmental pollution, solid urban waste and environmental education. A qualitative research was conducted, using techniques of documentary and bibliographic analysis. It was possible to verify that the district of Água Grande lacks of good practices for the collection, separation, treatment and its final destination, encompassing all the processes of management of Urban Solid Waste (MSW). In this perspective, the study presents a suggestion related to environmental education since childhood, so that there is an integrated partnership of public management, civil society and private industries. All of this taking into account the issue of public health within the country.São Tomé and Príncipe. Environmental education. The treatment of urban solid waste represents, on the one hand, a current problematic drawing the intention of the authorities on their management and recovery through their recovery and recycling, and on the other hand, their gravity that they present on health and the environment. The purpose of this study is to provide solutions to the main questions regarding quantity, management principles, on which depend reliable management, landfilling techniques and their social, economic and environmental impacts. The methodology followed in this study is summarized by the following steps: review of the state of the art, field study and triage. The Batna landfill can, in its most unfavorable state, recycle 760,000 tons per year (between ores, paper, glass and plastic). Actually, recovery of recycled products accounted for only 23.89% for 2015.

Microplastics possess a significant threat to water resources as well as aquatic life and present a challenge in overall water resource management. Among a wide variety of entry routes available for microplastics from land to water bodies, municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills are suspected to be one of the important land-based sources (entry point) of microplastics affecting water quality. Few studies reported the presence of microplastic in the leachate obtained from municipal solid waste landfills corroborating that MSW landfills not only act as a sink of microplastic pollution but also act as a source. Microplastics from these leachates move to the soil system thereby affecting its quality and further migrate to aquatic systems. This movement of microplastic from leachate to aquatic system not only deteriorate the water quality but also highlights the importance of land-based sources of microplastic. In this review, we focused on the role of landfills as a pathway for microplastics to water bodies. The main aims of this review the abundance and characteristics of microplastics in landfills and discuss the role of landfill age. Polyethylene in fragmented and fibrous form remains the predominant type and shape of microplastic in leachates. The shape, size, and abundance of microplastics in leachates vary with landfill age. Landfills also provide a favorable environment for microplastic degradation thereby turning macroplastics into tiny plastic pieces. The major type of degradation is oxidative degradation. Our review confirms that MSW landfills are indeed a source of microplastic and contribute to microplastic pollution in soil and aquatic systems.
