Abstract: Abstract: The objective of this article is to analyze the dimensions of creativity concerning students with high abilities. Firstly a review of the most relevant scientific contributions on creativity is carried out. Next the dimensions of creativity in secondary school students who have been previously identified as high- ability students are analyzed. Those abilities associated to di-vergent thinking were assessed by means of the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking [19]. The flu-ency, flexibility and originality dimensions were assessed with the Scientific-Creative Thinking Test (TPCC, [7]). The results obtained evidence that high-ability students achieve greater scores in both the figurative creativity and scientific-creativity dimensions. A significant relationship between creativity and high ability can therefore be established. This study is of an exploratory nature and the results obtained contribute to develop future studies in application of its findings in the teaching-learning process..

AbstractThe aim of this study is the analysis of creativity changes across life, particularly the widely discussed crisis periods in the development of creative abilities. A large and diversified sample of Poles (N = 4898 aged from 4 to 21 years), at each educational stage of the Polish education system, from pre-schoolers, through primary school students, middle-school students, secondary-school students and finally university students completed the Test for Creative Thinking – Drawing Production. The observed changes showed a nonlinear pattern in the development of creativity with diverse declines and increases in creative abilities. These trends are different for each of the assessment criteria of the TCT-DP and at least three different trajectories were identified. The adolescent slump was confirmed for three of the 14 assessment criteria as well as the total TCT-DP score. What was not noted however was: a slump caused by entry into formal schooling, (age 6 vs 7), 4th grade slump, (age 9 vs 10) and 6th grade slump (age 11 vs 12). We discuss possible reasons for and consequences of the findings.

The main objective of the present study was to find out the relationship between Punctuality and Home Environment among school going adolescents. To achieve this objective, Punctuality and home environment Scale developed by the investigator were used. The sample consisted of 100 Government Secondary School students of 9th Class were selected randomly from Sri Muktsar Sahib District of Punjab, India. The sample was equally categorized between Boys- Girls and Rural- Urban students. The results revealed that there exists significant relationship between Punctuality and Home Environment among school going adolescents. It is also found out that urban adolescents are more punctual as compare to rural adolescents. No significant difference was found among rural and urban adolescents as well as boys and girls on the variable of Home environment.

The study investigated the influence of gender, location and parental factors on career choice of senior secondary school students in Delta and Edo States. Four research questions and four hypotheses guided the study. The study adopted an ex-post facto research design. A total of 1,200 students participated in the study. Multi-stage sampling procedure was used to draw the sample from the two states. A self-developed instrument was used for data collection. The instrument had a test-retest reliability coefficient of 0.64. The data obtained were analysed using chi-square (x2) statistics at 0.05 alpha level. The findings revealed that there was significant relationship between gender and career choice;and between socio-economic status of parents and career choice of senior secondary school students. The study, however, showed that there was no significant relationship between parental education and career choice; and between location of schools and career choice of senior secondary school students.

The Egyptian government integrated tablets in Egyptian secondary schools. Thus, the researcher aimed to explore the effectiveness of using tablet in Egyptian secondary schools from the students’ perspective. He aimed to explore that in order to assess students’ experiences in this regard. He selected a random sample consisting from 745 female and male secondary school students in Egypt. Those students were selected from three schools. Questionnaire forms were distributed to those students by hand. All the distributed forms were retrieved. However, 9 forms were excluded due to missing data. Thus, 736 questionnaire forms are valid for analysis. It was found that tablet serves as an effective learning method in Egyptian secondary schools. It was found that using tablet in classroom improves students’ creative thinking skills and makes teachers more creative. It was found that using tablet in classroom enriches students’ vocabulary, improves their language skills and increases their academic achievement in classroom. It was found that such use can meet the learning needs of various types of learners. The researcher recommends conducting studies about the challenges facing teachers in using tablets in classroom.

Aim: The aim of this study were to assess the oral hygiene knowledge and practice among secondary school students in Owerri Municipal Area, Imo State, Nigeria. Study Design: This study employed a descriptive survey design. Place and Duration of Study: This study were carried out in Secondary Schools in Owerri Municipality, Imo State, Nigeria within September 2014 and June 2015.  Methodology: Data were collected using structural pretested questionnaire administered to 500 randomly selected consenting respondents (students) with 251 female and 249 male students. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using SPSS version 20. The hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance and data generated were subjected to percentage findings presented by the use of tables. Results: The results affirmed that 84% of the respondents had oral hygiene knowledge, 78% were of the opinion that major source of oral hygiene knowledge were parents/guardians, and 20% of the respondents acquiring information through their school teachers. It was noted that 44% of the respondents had good oral hygiene practices in Secondary School in Owerri Municipal Area, Imo State, Nigeria. The result of the statistical analyses shows that there was a significant relationship (342.624; P = .001) between the age of the students and the knowledge of oral hygiene, there was significant relationship (337.910; P = .001) between major source of oral hygiene information and the knowledge of oral hygiene and there was a significant relationship (390.988; P = .001) between major source of oral hygiene information and the practice of oral hygiene. The study therefore provided information on oral hygiene knowledge and practice in secondary school in Owerri Municipal Area, Imo State, Nigeria. Conclusion: It can be recommended to Students/Parents/Government and School Teachers to embrace the idea that oral diseases can be prevented or mitigated by individual action of daily brushing and other oral hygiene related practices to pervert the negative oral health consequences.
