The results of the study of the main elements of unobstructed space are presented and the compliance of the actual state with the regulatory requirements of measures to ensure a safe, comfortable, accessible and informative pedestrian zone of the road network is analyzed. Приводится сравнительно-сопоставительный анализ современных традиционных и компьютерных методик обучения сегментной и супрасегментной фонетике английского языка в условиях аудиторного билингвизма, обосновывается необходимость введения новых методик обучения устной речи в современных школьных УМК, нацеленных на подготовку к устной части ЕГЭ по иностранному языку, а также необходимость разработки в них новых критериев оценивания фонетической стороны речи. Автор дает обобщенную характеристику традиционных методов обучения произношению и анализируют эффективность их применения на уроке иностранного языка в современной школе в среднем и старшем звене обучения. Приводятся основные задачи и цели компьютерного обучения фонетике, а также специфика его использования в аудитории искусственного билингвизма. На примере конкретных компьютерных программ анализируется эффективность дистанционных методов обучения с точки зрения подготовки школьников к сдаче государственных экзаменов. A comparative analysis of traditional and computer methods of teaching English segmental and suprasegmental phonetics in conditions of auditory bilingualism is given. The need for new modern methods of teaching and textbooks is justified. It is revealed that new computer methods of teaching should be aimed for preparing and training for the oral part of the Russian State Exam and have different estimation criteria. General characteristics of basic traditional methods (articulatory and acoustic) and their effectiveness is shown on the examples of concrete Russian and foreign editions, in comparison with popular computer programs. Computer programs for teaching English phonetics are analyzed from the point of view of their specific training of auditory bilinguals.

The Impact

The lockdown situation has hampered the learning processes to a large extent across the globe. Many educational institutes promptly adapted to the situation and moved towards online learning, and many found constraints in this sudden migration. The purpose of the chapter is to identify the impact of a pandemic on the ongoing educational activities and how these activities were carried out with the help of technology-based solutions. A comparative analysis of the traditional and modern methods of teaching-learning has been carried out to check their suitability during the pandemic time. The significance of this chapter is to describe an integrative approach of continuing online teaching-learning activities throughout the lockdown time by establishing the connection between the online teaching-learning process and the traditional classroom-based methods. The challenges offered by the online environment have been outlined from the perspective of both the educational institutes and the learners.

The increase of cargo traffic in Ukrainian ports is constrained due to the lack of deep-sea berths of high bearing capacity. Despite the construction of new facilities, it is necessary to make the most of the existing berthing front. The technical condition of the berthing front, according to the results of the surveys, is in an unsatisfactory state. Many quays need substantial reconstruction in order to increase depths and increase operational loads. In the present work the analysis of modern methods of reconstruction of mooring structures of various designs is carried out. The possibility of their application in various conditions is estimated. A new scheme for reconstruction of berthing facilities is proposed. A comparative analysis of the existing reconstruction methods with the proposed one is made.

Once freeways are classified as arterial systems, they are directly associated to accessibility which has implications on efficiency of a road network design. The geometric design standards influence the freeways’ conception and operation and, therefore, they certainly have an impact on accessibility and the country’s development.A comparative analysis of geometric design of freeways was focused on two policies, both from Portugal and United States of America. The data gathered the geometric parameters regarding the design controls, criteria, elements of design and cross section elements.The major finding of this review infers that the Portuguese Policy imply wider and extensive freeways that arise from strong restraints in the minimum values of geometric parameters. This reflects on higher safety frame. The American Policy is less conservative which may reflect on slender geometric freeways, in comparison with the Portuguese. Therefore, it may be assumed that the American Policy designs less expensive freeways.
