At the present time there is no credible scientific evidence on the effectiveness of homeopathy in asthma, allergies and other diseases. In the available publications, Cochrane reviews, meta-analyzes of homeopathy effect comparable to placebo. From a scientific point of view, we did not receive an explanation mechanism of action of homeopathic dilutions of drugs, laid down in the concept of potentiation. In the light of the best available data to date there is no reason to include homeopathy in clinical guidelines for the treatment of patients with various diseases. To change the view of the value of homeopathic medicines need modern analytical methods, revealing the structure of the proposed pills and other medicines, and to study the true therapeutic homeopathy capabilities required to conduct comparative studies, clinical trials, appropriate medical science and made according to strict rules, adopted by the international medical community.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have devastated the globe and continues to be a protracted saga. In the absence of specific efficacious medical remedies, efforts to encounter and contain this emerging virus concentrated on vaccine production. A plethora of novel vaccines has been under development by major companies in different countries. To date, around 60 vaccines are in clinical trials with many other ones continuously added to the evolving pipeline. The variety in their corresponding designed platform and phases, warrants to tackle and understand what is being presented in the literature and launched in the market.  Thus, this study is intended to enlighten and educate the medical community by reviewing the different vaccine platforms, and briefly explaining their mechanism of action with an emphasis on those that reached most advanced stages.

The latest data on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with specific diseases are primarily accumulated in the international consensus documents and guidelines according to scientific evidence. In Ukraine, these documents are used mainly by the scientists who present the results of their clinical trials at various congresses and professional association meetings. As for Ukrainian students, the textbooks remain the main source of their knowledge; due to a long process of their preparing and publishing, they do not keep pace with rapid changes in the international documents. One way to solve the problem described is to reorient the methodology of training students. The fundamental postulates of such training should be as follows: the study of each disease semiotics should be based on the universally accepted criteria for its diagnosis described in the latest consensus documents, and the study of treatment methods for each disease should be based on the most important international guidelines according to scientific evidence. The tasks mentioned above can be implemented through teachers’ focusing on information taken from the international guidelines and consensus documents, introducing references to these documents in the methodological materials for students, increasing students’ English proficiency, creating database for the exams on the basis of the international guidelines and consensus documents, and clear agreement of Ukrainian and international medical terminology. The implementation of all the above mentioned is not an easy task, as the introduction of any changes requires appropriate funding including labor compensation for those who provide this introduction. However, without an operative system of acquainting students with the latest achievements in medical science supported by consensus documents of the universally recognized international medical organizations, Ukrainian medicine will not be able to keep pace with global medicine, and medical graduates, at the start of their career, will lag behind their colleagues abroad.

The purpose of this article is process of analyzing in reference to concert capriccio by C. Munier for mandolin with piano («Bizzarria», op. 201, Spanish сapriccio, op. 276) from the point of view of their genre specificity. Methodology. The research is based on the historical approach, which determines the specifics of the genre of Capriccio in the music of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and in the work of C. Munier; the computational and analytical methods used to identify the peculiarities of the formulation and the performing interpretation of the original concert pianos for mandolins with piano that, according to the genre orientation (according to the composerʼs remarks), are defined as capriccio. Scientific novelty. The creation of Florentine composer,61mandolinist-vertuoso and pedagog C. Munier, which made about 300 compositions, is exponential for represented scientific vector. Concert works by C. Munier for mandolin and piano, created in the capriccio genre, were not yet considered in the art of the outdoors, as the creativity and composer’s style of the famous mandolinist. Conclusions. Thus, appealing to capriccio by С. Munier, which created only two works, embodied in them virtually all the evolutionary stages of the development of genre. In his opus of this genre there are a vocal, inherent in capriccio of the 17th century solo presentation, virtuosity, originality, which were embodied in the works of 17th – 18th centuries and the national color of the 19th century is clearly expressed. Thus, the Spanish capriccio is a kind of «musical encyclopedia» of national dance, which features are characteristic features of bolero, tarantella, habanera, and so forth. The originality of opus number 201 – «Bizzarria», is embodied in the parameters of shaping (expanded cadence of the soloist in the beginning) and emphasized virtuosity, which is realized in a wide register range, a variety of technical elements.

AbstractThere has perhaps been no issue as contentious in Covid-19 as face masks. The most contentious scientific debate has been between those who argue that “there is no scientific evidence”, by which they mean that there are no randomized controlled trials (RCTs), versus those who argue that when the evidence is considered together, “the science supports that face coverings save lives”. It used to be a ‘given’ that to decide whether a particular factor, either exogenous or endogenous, can cause a particular disease, and in what order of magnitude, one should consider all reasonably cogent evidence. This approach is being increasingly challenged, both scientifically and politically. The scientific challenge has come from methodologic views that focus on the randomized controlled trial (RCT) as the scientific gold standard, with priority being given, either to evidence from RCTs or to observational studies which closely mimic RCTs. The political challenge has come from various interests calling for the exclusion of epidemiological evidence from consideration by regulatory and advisory committees.

Angelicae Pubescentis Radix (AP), as a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), has been used for thousands of years in China. In this paper, the botany, traditional use, phytochemistry, analytical methods, quality control, pharmacological effects, and toxicity of AP were reviewed. It can provide a reference for the further research and lay a foundation for the rational clinical application of AP. The relevant information on AP was collected from scientific databases (such as Baidu Scholar, CNKI, Google Scholar, PubMed, Science Direct, Web of Science, and SciFinder Scholar), Chinese herbal classics, Chinese Pharmacopoeia, PhD and MSc dissertations, and so on. The components which have been isolated and identified in AP include coumarins, volatile oils, organic acids, terpenes, polysaccharides, flavonoids, sterols, and trace elements. Most of them were analyzed by HPLC and GC. A pharmacological study shows that the AP has extensive pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory, antirheumatism, sedative and hypnotic, neuroprotection, antioxidation, antitumor, and allergy, and it is widely used in the treatment of the rheumatoid arthritis, knee osteoarthritis, lumbar disc, ankylosing spondylitis, headaches, stroke hemiplegia, Alzheimer’s, and arrhythmia. AP is a valuable natural medicinal plant. So far, significant advances have been made in phytochemistry and pharmacology. Some traditional uses have been demonstrated by modern pharmacology. However, the chemical components and pharmacological effects of AP are complex and varied, and there are different standards for the evaluation of its quality and efficacy. The mechanism of action, the structure-activity relationship among the components, and the potential synergistic and antagonistic effects remain to be studied. At the same time, there are few studies on the specific compounds related to its pharmacodynamics. In order to better develop and utilize AP, we should establish a more reasonable, reliable, and accurate quality control standard and focus on the study of bioactive constituents and the demonstration of their mechanism of action.

Abstract The problem of wasteful clinical trials has been debated relentlessly in the medical community. To a significant extent, it is attributed to redundant trials – studies that are carried out to address questions, which can be answered satisfactorily on the basis of existing knowledge and accessible evidence from prior research. This article presents the first evaluation of the potential of the EU Clinical Trials Regulation 536/2014, which entered into force in 2014 but is expected to become applicable at the end of 2021, to prevent such trials. Having reviewed provisions related to the trial authorisation, we propose how certain regulatory requirements for the assessment of trial applications can and should be interpreted and applied by national research ethics committees and other relevant authorities in order to avoid redundant trials and, most importantly, preclude the unnecessary recruitment of trial participants and their unjustified exposure to health risks.

The aim of this research was to study from a multidimensional point of view (decisional, relational and energetic) the interpersonal relationships established by girls and boys in the traditional sport game of Elbow Tag. Scientific evidence has shown that Traditional Sport Games (TSG) trigger different effects on male and female genders in relation to emotional experiences, decision-making, conflicts and motor relationships. Despite the fact that these dimensions are intertwined, there are hardly any studies that interpret motor behaviors holistically, i.e., taking a multidimensional (360°) view of these dimensions. For this study, a quasi-experimental design was used and a type III design was applied, inspired by the observational methodology N/P/M. A total of 147 university students participated (M = 19.6, SD = 2.3): 47 girls (31.97%) and 100 boys (68.02%). A mixed ‘ad hoc’ registration system was designed with acceptable margins of data quality. Cross-tabulations, classification trees and T-patterns analysis were applied. The results indicated that social interactions between girls and boys in a mixed group were unequal. This difference was mainly due to decision-making (sub-role variable), which has much greater predictive power than the energetic variables (MV and steps).
