The goal of this research is to increase the student’s critical thinking skill using scientific approach in mathematic of the students 5 grade SD Negeri Ledok 01 Salatiga. It use Classroom Action Research (CAR), it will do to solve learning problems in the classroom. The writer does Classroom Action Research (CAR) collaboratively with the teacher of 5 grade SD Negeri Ledok 01 Salatiga. The subjects of this research is the students 5 grade SD Negeri Ledok 01 there are 30 students consists of 16 boys and 14 girls. The result of the analysis data show the students critical thinking skill of the pre-cycle is 26% high level, 20% intermediate level and 54% in the low level. First cycle it about 50% high level, 43% intermediate level, and 7% low level, second cycle 57% high level and 43% intermediate. Based on the result above, the writer can conclude the scientific approach is increasing the students critical thinking skill in mathematic of the student 5 grade SD Negeri Ledok 01 Salatiga.

Abstrak: Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Tujuan  dari penelitian  ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran tematik dengan menerapkan model Discovery Learning. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Discovery Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa. Presentase kemampuan berpikir kritis pada kategori sangat tinggi, tinggi dan sedang pada siklus I adalah 30%, meningkat di siklus II menjadi 82%. Ketercapaian ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa pada pra siklus adalah 38%, meningkat di siklus I menjadi 68%, kembali mengalami peningkatan di siklus II menjadi 85%. Abstract: This type of research was the classroom action research. The aims of the research were to improve the critical thinking skill and learning outcomes of the students in thematic learning by applaying Discovery Learning model. The research showed that by applying Discovery Learning Model can improve the critical thinking skill and learning outcomes of the students. Precentage of critical thinking skill in very high and moderate category, in cycle I was 30%, and increased in cycle II 82%. The achievement of students learning completeness at pre-cycle was 38%, increasing in cycle I to 68%, increasing again in cycle II to 85%.

Keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa belum menjadi perhatian, padahal keterampilan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang sangat penting diajarkan kepada siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektifitas penerapan model pembelajaran problem posing menggunakan LKS berbasis scientific approach. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK).  Subjek penelitiannya ialah 34 siswa kelas 7C SMPN 24 Banjarmasin. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah LKS brbasis scientific approach. Berdasarkan hasil analisa data diperoleh keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada siklus I keterampilan menanya sebesar 67,88%, pada siklus II keterampilan menanya sebesar 84,71%, dan pada siklus III keterampilan menanya sebesar 92,26%, sedangkan keterampilan mengamati, mencoba, menganalisis, mengkomunikasikan dan menyimpulkan pada ketiga siklus sebesar mencapai nilai diatas 85%. Hal ini menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II baik, dan siklus III amat baik. Hasil belajar siswa materi konsep zat yang berorientasi keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa mencapai ketuntasan secara klasikal pada siklus I sebesar 78,13%, pada siklus II sebesar 88,24%, dan pada siklus III sebesar 91,18%. Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran sangat baik. Oleh karena itu diperoleh simpulan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran problem posing menggunakan LKS berbasis scientific aproach efektif meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas 7C SMPN 24 Banjarmasin pada materi konsep zat.Critical thinking skills of students have not been a concern, whereas critical thinking skills are one of the most important high-level thinking skills taught to students. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of applying learning problem-posing model using worksheet based on scientific approach. This research uses classroom action research method. The research subjects are 34 students of grade 7C SMPN 24 Banjarmasin. The instrument used in this research is a scientific approach bracket worksheet. Based on the result of data analysis, the students' critical thinking skill in the first cycle of questioning skills equal to 67,88% score, on the second cycle, the questioning skill equal to 84,71%, and on the third cycle of questioning skill equal to 92,26% , while observation skill, try, analyze, communicate and conclude on all three cycles achieving a value above 85%. This shows the improvement of students' critical thinking skills from cycle I to cycle II good, and cycle III is very good. Student learning result of concept material that oriented critical thinking skill of students reach mastery classically in cycle I equal to 78,13%, in cycle II equal to 88,24%, and at cycle III equal to 91,18%. Student response to learning is very good. Therefore it is concluded that the application of learning problem-posing model using a scientific-based worksheet approach effectively improves critical thinking skills of 7C students SMPN 24 Banjarmasin on the material concept of substance.

Critical thinking, the art of reasoning, is a high level academic skill. It can be taught using several other resources, one of them is the use of interdisciplinary texts. This writing aims at exploring how interdisciplinary texts can be supportive to enhance students' critical thinking skill and also comprises some recommendations for a successful delivery of these texts to enhance the target skill. It concludes that the use of interdisciplinary texts is a means to teach critical thinking skill but not an end. The judicious use of them to develop students' critical thinking skill is relevant.

This research carried out blended learning strategy through class action research. The aim of the application of blended learning in class was to encourage the students’ critical thinking skill. The application of blended learning strategy was motivated by evidence that the existing strategy leaved the students passive which entailed in the limited materials as given by the lecturers. Blended learning strategy was expected to develop the lecturers’ instruction in gaining the learning achievement. The subjects of the research covered 35 students of the Accounting Study Program, University of PGRI Madiun. The research was carried out by three-cycles Class Action Research. The data were taken through the learning activities by means of observation guide, and through students’ achievement test. The results showed that the students’ critical thinking skill developed after treatment from 8.4% to 42.2% in the first cycle. In the second cycle, it developed even greater to 92.3%. In the third cycle, the students’ achievement passed the threshold level. The conclusion was then that blended learning was effective in developing the students’ critical thinking skill. AbstrakPenelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan fokus masalah tentang penerapan strategi blended learning dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Rasionalnya adalah bahwa pembelajaran kovensional dirasakan kurang menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pengetahuan mahasiswa terbatas pada materi yang diajarkan dosen. Penerapan strategi blended learning diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan dosen sebagai strategi yang selalu mengikuti perkembangan dunia pendidikan dan efektif dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 35 mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Akuntansi Universitas PGRI Madiun yang menempuh mata kuliah Belajar Pembelajaran. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang  dilaksanakan dalam 3 siklus. Data penelitian dibuktikan dari penilaian aktivitas belajar dosen dan aktivitas belajar mahasiswa yang diperoleh dari lembar observasi serta hasil belajar yang diukur melalui tes. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dibandingkan sebelum dilakukannya perlakuan (treatment).  Dari yang semula 33,8% meningkat sebesar 8,4%, menjadi 42,2% pada siklus-1, meningkat lagi menjadi 71,9% untuk siklus-2, dan pada siklus-3 meningkat menjadi 92,3%. Hasil analisis penerapan blended learning pada siklus ketiga menunjukkan peningkatan yang cukup signifikan karena mahasiswa mencapai ketuntasan dalam kegiatan belajarnya. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi blended learning efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar mahasiswa.

During the learning process of Kajian Matematika SD, there are only 10-15% of students who ask questions or give opinions. Students will express his opinion only when teacher raised questions. Writing test results also show that students are still cann’t collecting the necessary information, give reasons and solve the problem. This indicates that the critical thinking skill of students still needs to be improved. Metacognition is awareness in using strategies in the learning process so they can actively learning, critical thinking, able to solve problems and make decisions. Metacognitive strategy that consist of planning, monitoring and evaluating can be used to develop the skill of metacognitive. This research belongs to the classroom action research. The results of this research obtained that the implementation of metacognitive strategies is able to improve students's critical thinking skills.

This paper aims to provide insights into the use of i-Think maps in developing the understanding of critical thinking skill among ESL student teachers. The i-Think map programme was introduced by the Ministry of Education in 2012 which aims to produce innovative learners including those in language learning field. Employing Kemmis and Mac Taggart’s (2000) model of action research, eight different types of i-Think maps were introduced to three trainee teachers for four months in order to obtain feedback concerning their learning experience and understanding of critical thinking skill. Throughout the four-month period, the participants were asked to opt for suitable i-Think maps to summarise the content of the lectures delivered in their teaching session. The participants were trainee teachers at a Teacher Training Institute in Malaysia and they were purposively sampled as they had been diagnosed to have problems in applying critical thinking for coaching. Analysis of the data which were generated from document analysis and semi-structured interviews with the student teachers, showed that the participants were interested in using i-Think maps and they perceived the maps as a useful tool in improving their understanding of critical thinking. This paper contributes to the existing literature on critical thinking skills in ELT classroom by highlighting the importance of using i-Think maps as a teaching aid in enhancing the critical thinking ambience among the students.

Background: Prospective teachers are less able to formulate high-level questions, so that the skills of teachers to formulate high-level questions are still lacking, even though it really determines students' critical thinking abilities. This study aims to determine whether there is an increase in students' ability to formulate high-level questions through the discussion-comparison method 1,2 with critical analysis of articles in the Biology Education Study Program, University of Muhammadiyah Bengkulu. Methods: This research used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with four cycles. Results: The results showed that there was an increase in the ability to formulate high-level questions of students through the discussion-comparison method 1,2 with critical analysis of articles in the Biology Education Study Program, University of Muhammadiyah Bengkulu.

Higher order thinking skill is a topic which attracts more attention of researchers in education field. Critical thinking belongs to higher order thinking skills. This kind of thinking should be had by everyone. Critical thinking belongs to 21st century skills Solving real world-mathematical problem regularly is assumed as one of ways encouraging one to grow and to enhance his critical thinking. A person who has good critical thinking skill in solving mathematical problems is considered to also think critically well in living his daily life. This study aims to investigate the critical thinking skill of female students consisting of ability in giving argument, drawing conclusion, and evaluating conclusion. A case study was carried out to four female students who were recruited based on their volunteering. Their critical thinking skills were evaluated by using essay test and interview. Participants’ critical thinking in solving mathematical problems is classified into high, medium, or low level. FS-1 and FS-4 are classified as low-level critical thinker. FS-2 and FS-3 are classified as high-level critical thinker. It is recommended to conduct similar study with larger sample involving both male and female students to compare their critical thinking in solving mathematical problems.
