This article provides the analysis of the possibilities to instal new technologies in the Lithuanian railways the building of a high speed railway line I in Kreta corridor. It is advisable to project this line as a mixed one, i.e. intended for both passenger and goods traffic. The research carried out by the author has shown that light transport dominates in passenger transportation among four cities of Lithuania Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda and Siauliai, which transports even 81,3% of direct passengers. Buses carry 14,9% and only 3,8 % of passengers are carried by railway transport. Therefore the main problem public transport is facing is to“get the passengers back” from light transport means, i.e. cars. The prospective railway and road transport markets in local, intercity and international passengers' transportations are also established in this work.

The article proves the need to develop high-speed railway transport, due to the fact that the last decade of travel on high-speed trains around the world is often faster than on airplanes, due to the lack of lengthy check-in, baggage screening, airport transfers and others. This type of transportation is becoming a major factor in the growing trend when passengers choose a high-speed train instead of an airplane. A detailed analysis of high-speed railway transport activities and their competitive advantages in the domestic and world transport markets are outlined. It is proved that in the conditions of cardinal transformation of the external environment caused by globalization, digitalization and intellectualization of world economy the guarantee of efficiency of strategy of development of any business entity is establishment of exogenous factors. The necessity of using methods and models of strategic management in the process of development of high-speed railway transportation in Ukraine is substantiated, as well as the necessity of determining the corresponding exogenous factors. The study identified the following key factors: intensification of international traffic, development of subversive technologies for trains and new transport systems, introduction of multimodal high-speed railway passenger transport technologies, development of multimodal transport infrastructure for high-speed railway passenger transport, development of private passenger transport, partnerships in the use of various forms of state support, digitalization of business processes of high-speed railway passenger transportation, development of intelligent transport systems for high-speed railway passenger transportation, improving customer service of high-speed railway passenger transportation, increasing reliability and safety of rail passenger-passenger transportation cross-border cooperation during the development of high high-speed railway passenger traffic. This will create a basis for determining the impact of macroeconomic conditions on the development of high-speed passenger railway transport and establish the patterns of their economic growth.

The development of railways is the most important condition for maintaining its position at the transportation market and increasing the competitiveness of railway transport in future. This may be, for example, the specialization of existing railway lines on the line with mainly freight and on the line with mainly passenger traffic. But due to the insufficiently dense railway network, the implementation of such projects leads to appearance of large train runs and an increase in the cost of transportation. The article shows that the organization of high - speed railway traffic on the existing mainline reduces the train running time by using the example of Moscow - Voronezh - Rostov-on-the-Don - Krasnodar - Sochi transport corridor, which is experiencing a shortage of carrying capacity, and the project of specialization of the mainline for high-speed passenger traffic. In the conditions of fierce competition with air and road transport, the travel time of 16-18 hours to Sochi will not change the distribution of passenger traffic between modes of transport, but only maintain the status quo. But the removal of freight traffic from the Voronezh - Rostov line will bring big losses both for JSC «Russian Railways» (the loss of the cargo base) and for the economy of the whole country. The ETW method is used to compare the overall environmental impact of freight trains movement on a non-circular route, their movement through Volgograd, as well as on road transport. It is proved that when the cargo flow is carried out on a circular route, the environmental advantage of railway transport is lost, and its impact is compared with that of road transport. It is concluded that instead of specialization of the existing congested lines, it is necessary to consider the phased construction of a new specialized high-speed railway (HSR), for the payback of which there is already sufficient passenger traffic in this transport corridor.

With the rapid development of high-speed railway in China, high-speed railway transport hub (HRTH) has become the high-density distribution center of passenger flow. In order to accurately detect potential safety hazard hidden in passenger flow, it is necessary to forecast the status of passenger flow. In this paper, we proposed a hybrid temporal-spatio forecasting approach to obtain the passenger flow status in HRTH. The approach combined temporal forecasting based on radial basis function neural network (RBF NN) and spatio forecasting based on spatial correlation degree. Computational experiments on actual passenger flow status from a specific bottleneck position and its correlation points in HRTH showed that the proposed approach is effective to forecast the passenger flow status with high precision.

When developing a high-speed contact suspension for railways electrified with alternating current, it is important to ensure that the electric rolling stock passes the neutral insert without turning off the current and without reducing the speed of movement. The article provides an analysis of previously developed devices in the field of power supply of electrified railways of single-phase alternating current, in which an attempt was made to pass an electric rolling stock of a neutral insert without disconnecting the load. The device of isolating coupling of a catenary and a neutral insert for high-speed railway lines electrified on alternating current is described. In this case, the passage of the neutral insert is carried out under current and braking of the electric rolling stock will not occur. Among other things, to improve the efficiency of high-speed contact suspension for railways electrified with alternating current, it is proposed to use new materials and new technologies that can be used in the device of insulating coupling of the catenary

On the basis of different landform and multifarious topography in rugged mountainous area in southwest China, typical tunnel portals for single track tunnels in a new high speed railway line have been presented in the paper. The portal comprises headwall, shed tunnel, bridge abutment and its support. Portal with headwall is suitable for tunnel to resist front earth pressure on high and abrupt slope. Shed tunnel is placed in front of headwall so as to prevent rockfall; its outward part is built into a flared one. Meanwhile, the installation of bridge and its abutment are also included in the portal according to landform in the paper.

Vehicle on-board equipment is the most important train control equipment in high-speed railways. Due to the low efficiency and accuracy of manual detection, in this paper, we propose an intellectualized fault diagnosis method based on adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) network. Firstly, we collect the fault information sheets that are recorded by electrical personnel, using frequency weighting factor and principal component analysis (PCA) to realize the data extraction and dimension reduction; Then, in order to improve the fault diagnosis rate of the model, using genetic algorithm (GA) to optimize the parameters of the ANFIS network; Finally, using the fault data of a high-speed railway line in 2019 to test the model, the optimized ANFIS model can achieve 96% fault diagnosis rate for vehicle on-board equipments, which indicating the method is effective and accurate.
