A taxonomic review of the known Taiwanese taxa of the pericaline Lebiini, this paper includes a key to the genera, keys to species, descriptions, and redescriptions of all species, illustrations, geographic range maps, re-rankings, and new synonymies. In total 34 species are treated, nine of which are described as new. The genus Phasmotaenia Navás, 1907 (type-species: Taeniosoma sanchezi Bolívar, 1897) is currently known only from the Philippine Islands and Taiwan, but here shown to extend eastwards as far as to the Solomon Islands, Northern New Guinea and even Fiji. A taxonomic review of the genus, and updated keys to the species are presented. The type-species of Phasmotaenia Navás, 1907, P. sanchezi (Bolívar, 1897) from Luzon, Philippines is shown to have been misinterpreted by previous authors. This has resulted in the description of the here revealed junior synonym Phasmotaenia elongata Zompro & Eusebio, 2000 (n. syn.). A survey of the intraspecific variation of P. sanchezi (Bolívar, 1897) is provided along with illustrations of the holotype. Phasmotaenia australe (Günther, 1933) from the Solomon Islands is removed from synonymy with Phasmotaenia godeffroyi (Redtenbacher, 1908) n. comb. from Micronesia and shown to be a distinct and valid species (rev. stat.). Both species are transferred to Phasmotaenia Navás, 1907. Examination of the paratypes of P. australe (Günther, 1933) has revealed these to represent two different species distinct from the holotype, one of which is described as new herein (P. guentheri n. sp.). This study concerns the diplopod genus Eucampesmella Schubart, 1955, widespread in Brazil. After this work, the genus includes 12 valid species, and three incertae sedis: E. pugiuncula (Schubart, 1946), E. brunnea Kraus, 1959 and E. schubarti Kraus, 1957. The type-species, Eucampesmella tricuspis (Attems, 1931), is redescribed based on the holotype, and the following six new Brazilian species are added: Eucampesmella macunaima sp. nov. from the states of Rondônia, Pará, and Piauí; E. capitu sp. nov. from the states of Piauí and Paraíba; E. brascubas sp. nov. from the state of Sergipe; E. iracema sp. nov. from the state of Pernambuco; E. pedrobala sp. nov. from the state of Ceará; and E. lalla sp. nov. from the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Furthermore, E. lartiguei ferrii (Schubart, 1956) is recognized as a junior synonym of E. lartiguei lartiguei (Silvestri, 1897), which also had its status changed, and E. sulcata (Attems, 1898) is revalidated, prevailing under the name Leptodesmus tuberculiporus Attems, 1898. In addition, drawings, diagnoses, and distribution maps for all species of the genus are provided.

A taxonomic revision of the tribe Ceroptresini (Hymenoptera: Cynipidae) is conducted for the first time. Prior to this study, the total number of valid species of Ceroptres, the only genus within Ceroptresini to date, was 23. As a result of this revision, 15 Ceroptres species are retained as valid and one species, Amblynotus ensiger Walsh, 1864, is desynonymized from Ceroptres petiolicola (Osten-Sacken, 1861), being considered here as a valid Ceroptres species: C. ensiger (Walsh, 1864) status verified and comb. nov. An additional five new species are described from Mexico: Ceroptres junquerasi Lobato-Vila & Pujade-Villar sp. nov.; C. lenis Lobato-Vila & Pujade-Villar sp. nov.; C. mexicanus Lobato-Vila & Pujade-Villar sp. nov.; C. nigricrus Lobato-Vila & Pujade-Villar sp. nov.; C. quadratifacies Lobato-Vila & Pujade-Villar sp. nov., increasing the total number of valid Ceroptres species to 21. Ceroptres masudai Abe, 1997 is synonymized with C. kovalevi Belizin, 1973. Ceroptres niger Fullaway, 1911 is transferred to Andricus (Andricus confusus Lobato-Vila & Pujade-Villar comb. nov. and nom. nov.). Five species (Amblynotus inermis Walsh, 1864; Cynips quercusarbos Fitch, 1859; Cynips querficus Fitch, 1859; Cynips quercuspisum Fitch, 1859; and Cynips quercustuber Fitch, 1859) are not considered as valid Ceroptres. The status of Ceroptres quereicola (Shinji, 1938), previously classified as an unplaced species, is commented on. In addition, a Nearctic species from the USA, Ceroptres politus Ashmead, 1896, is here proposed as the type species of a new genus within Ceroptresini: Buffingtonella Lobato-Vila & Pujade-Villar gen. nov. Redescriptions, biological and distribution data, illustrations and keys to genera and species within Ceroptresini are provided. The diagnostic morphological traits of Ceroptresini, Ceroptres and the new genus are discussed.

The genus Magulla Simon 1892 is revalidated and redescribed. The female of the type species M. obesa Simon 1892 is redescribed and the male is described for the first time. Magulla janeirus (Keyserling 1891) is considered a valid species. Magulla symmetrica Bücherl 1949 is transferred to Plesiopelma Pocock 1901, and considered a junior synonym of P. insulare (Mello-Leitão 1923). Additionally, two new species are described from Brazil: M. buecherli n. sp. from Ilhabela, São Paulo and M. brescoviti n. sp. from São Francisco de Paula, Rio Grande do Sul.

For 130 years the diogenid genusPaguropsisHenderson, 1888 was considered monotypic for an unusual species,P.typicaHenderson, 1888, described from the Philippines and seldom reported since. Although scantly studied, this species is known to live in striking symbiosis with a colonial sea anemone that the hermit can stretch back and forth like a blanket over its cephalic shield and part of cephalothoracic appendages, and thus the common name “blanket-crab”. During a study of paguroid collections obtained during recent French-sponsored biodiversity campaigns in the Indo-West Pacific, numerous specimens assignable toPaguropsiswere encountered. Analysis and comparison with types and other historical specimens deposited in various museums revealed the existence of five undescribed species. Discovery of these new species, together with the observation of anatomical characters previously undocumented or poorly described, including coloration, required a revision of the genusPaguropsis. The nameChlaenopagurusandersoniAlcock & McArdle, 1901, considered by Alcock (1905) a junior synonym ofP.typica, proved to be a valid species and is resurrected asP.andersoni(Alcock, 1899). In two of the new species, the shape of the gills, length/width of exopod of maxilliped 3, width and shape of sternite XI (of pereopods 3), and armature of the dactyls and fixed fingers of the chelate pereopods 4, were found to be characters so markedly different fromP.typicaand other species discovered that a new genus for them,Paguropsinagen. n., is justified. As result, the genusPaguropsisis found to contain five species:P.typica,P.andersoni,P.confusasp. n.,P.gigassp. n., andP.laciniasp. n.Herein,Paguropsinagen. n., is proposed and diagnosed for two new species,P.pistillatagen. et sp. n., andP.inermisgen. et sp. n.;Paguropsisis redefined,P.typicaand its previously believed junior synonym,P.andersoni, are redescribed. All species are illustrated, and color photographs provided. Also included are a summary of the biogeography of the two genera and all species; remarks on the significance of the unusual morphology; and remarks on knowledge of the symbiotic anemones used by the species. To complement the morphological descriptions and assist in future population and phylogenetic investigations, molecular data for mitochondrial COI barcode region and partial sequences of 12S and 16S rRNA are reported. A preliminary phylogenetic analysis using molecular data distinctly shows support for the separation of the species into two clades, one with all five species ofPaguropsis, and another with the two speciesPaguropsinagen. n.

The northern South American genus Haematotropis Jeekel, 2000 is shown to presently encompass 21 species, all duly redescribed, illustrated, keyed, and mapped, including 13 new species: H. amazonica sp. nov. (Amazonas, Brazil), H. aripuanensis sp. nov. (Mato Grosso, Brazil), H. callyi sp. nov. (French Guiana), H. dentata sp. nov. (Maranhão, Brazil), H. disjunctoides sp. nov. (Pará, Brazil), H. goeldii sp. nov. (Pará, Brazil), H. jurutiensis sp. nov. (Pará, Brazil), H. driki sp. nov. (Amazonas, Brazil), H. melgacensis sp. nov. (Pará, Brazil), H. mosaica sp. nov. (Pará, Brazil), H. paraensis sp. nov. (Pará, Brazil), H. poranga sp. nov. (Pará, Brazil) and H. tysoni sp. nov. (Amazonas, Brazil). New characters are used in all descriptions and redescriptions. Aphelidesmus guianensis Chamberlin, 1923, the type species of Ochrotropis Jeekel, 2000, is a new junior synonym of Aphelidesmus divergens Chamberlin, 1918, comb. nov. ex Ochrotropis in Haematotropis.

AbstractA new genus, Misturaphis, is described, with type-species Misturaphis shiloensis new species, from Artemisia caudata Michx. Cryptaphis bromi new species is described from Bromus inermis Leyss. Asiphonaphis anogis Hottes and Frison is declared a junior synonym of Pergandeidia corni Tissot, and P. corni is re-designated as type species of the genus Pseudasiphonaphis, with new name Pseudasiphonaphis corni (Tissot).

The tribe Sisyphini sensu stricto Mulsant, 1842 comprises only three genera, the widespread Sisyphus Latreille, 1807 and Neosisyphus Müller, 1942, and the Mauritius endemic, Nesosisyphus Vinson, 1946. In southern Africa, Sisyphus and Neosisyphus are represented by five species groups in each genus. Together, they comprise a total of 33 valid species, of which six are new: Sisyphus auricomus sp. n; Sisyphus australis sp. n ; Sisyphus bicuariensis sp. n; Sisyphus inconspicuus sp. n; Sisyphus swazi sp. n; and Neosisyphus tembyi sp. n. A further Southern African species, Sisyphus crispatus Gory, 1833, is proposed as a nomen dubium. Sisyphus natalensis Balthasar, 1968 (syn. n), and Sisyphus bornemisszanus Endrödi, 1983 (pars) (syn. n) are made synonyms of Sisyphus sordidus Boheman, 1857. Lectotypes and paralectotypes are designated for Sisyphus costatus (Thunberg, 1818); Sisyphus seminulum Gerstaecker, 1871; Sisyphus nanniscus Péringuey, 1901; Sisyphus transvaalensis Péringuey 1901; Neosisyphus spinipes (Thunberg, 1818) and Neosisyphus barbarossa (Wiedemann, 1823). Diagnoses, photographs of habitus and male genitalia, lists of examined material and distribution maps are presented for all species. An identification key to the southern African sisyphine species is provided.

The leafhopper subgenus Pediopsoides (Sispocnis) Anufriev, 1967 is reviewed and the type species is fixed asBythoscopuskogotensisMatsumura, 1912. Six valid species of the subgenus are recognized including two new species described and illustrated here, Pediopsoides (Sispocnis) rectus Li, Li & Dai,sp. nov.and P. (S.) triangulus Li, Li & Dai,sp. nov.from Sichuan Province of Southwestern China. Additionally P. (S.) heterodigitatus Dai & Zhang, 2009 is proposed as a junior synonym of P. (S.) aomians (Kuoh, 1981) based on examination of many specimens. A key to species of the subgenus is also provided for identification.

We review the endemic Australian bee fly genusEusurbusRoberts (Bombyliidae, Bombyliinae) and recognize two described species and three new species. The monotypic genusBromoglycisHull is identified as a new junior synonym ofEusurbus. Another species,E. nigracinctusRoberts, is designated as the type species of a new genusZentamyiagen. nov. This new genus is similar toEusurbusbased on several combined external characters including two-segmented palp, one-segmented flagellomere, open anal cell and cellr5, and the cellbrmuch longer than cellbm. However,Zentamyiagen. nov. has a more flattened scutum, and the apex of the flagellum is tapered. Moreover, the male genitalia are very different fromEusurbus, the male epandrium is narrow and long, and its posterolateral margin has a cluster of dense hairs; the female lacks a sand chamber, and the sperm pump is long and strong. A morphological phylogeny toEusurbusspecies is provided.
