Two parasitoids, Metapelma beijingense Yang (Hymenoptera, Eupelmidae) and Spathius ochus Nixon (Hymenoptera, Braconidae) are redescribed and illustrated. Both were reared from Coraebus cavifrons Descarpentries & Villiers (Coleoptera, Buprestidae) boring in Symplocos stellaris Brand (Symplocaceae). Metapelma beijingense is a solitary parasitoid with a parasitism rate of about 13.5% and S. ochus is a gregarious parasitoid with a parasitism rate of about 21.2%. A revised key to Oriental and Palaearctic species of Metapelma Westwood and a key to the species of the Spathius labdacus-group are provided.

The Cercyon shinanensis species group with two included species is erected within the nominotypical subgenus of Cercyon Leach, 1817. This group is compared with other Palaearctic species groups of Cercyon s. str. The little-known C. shinanensis Nakane, 1965 from Japan (Honshu) is redescribed and its diagnostic features are given. Cercyon sundukovi sp. nov. is described from the Russian Far East (Kunashir Island).

Two new species groups are established for East Palaearctic species of the genus Anthobium Leach, 1819: the atrocephalum group containing the widespread Palaearctic A. atrocephalum (Gyllenhal, 1827), A. formosanum Shavrin, sp. n. (Taiwan), A. hammondi Watanabe, 1990 (Japan), A. lackneri Shavrin, sp. n. (Japan: Hokkaido), and two Chinese species, A. kabateki Shavrin, sp. n. (Yunnan, Gansu) and A. marci Shavrin, sp. n. (Sichuan); the convexior group containing four new species from China: A. convexior Shavrin, sp. n. (Shaanxi, Sichuan), A. auritum Shavrin, sp. n. (Yunnan), A. kabaki Shavrin, sp. n. (Sichuan), and A. semenovi Shavrin, sp. n. (Sichuan). New species are described and illustrated. The species groups are defined, briefly discussed and a key to the species of each group is given. Additionally, a new species of the morchella group, A. inopinatum Shavrin, sp. n. (China: Yunnan) and the nigrum group, A. bengalicum Shavrin, sp. n. (India: West Bengal), are described and illustrated. New faunistic records of A. reflexum (Reitter, 1891) from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan are provided.

AbstractWithin Pollenia Robineau-Desvoidy a venturii species-group is defined and revised. It consists of a single species P. venturii Zumpt. P. solitaria Grunin is proposed as a junior synonym. It is characterized by unique features in the male aedeagus and the lateral sacs of the internal female reproductive organs. Male and female terminalia are illustrated, the latter for the first time. A preliminary cladistic analysis of all known Palaearctic species of Pollenia (except P. japonica Kano & Shinonaga) suggests that the sister-group of P. venturii is a clade consisting of the viatica + vagabunda + amentaria + haeretica species-groups. A sclerotized internal wall of the lateral sacs in the internal reproductive system of female Pollenia appears to be a parallelism developed independently in the venturii, rudis, most members of the tenuiforceps and some members of the semicinerea groups, rather than an underlying synapomorphy. P. venturii is known from France, Germany, Greece, Italy and Russia. A key is provided to species-groups in Pollenia.

This paper includes a key to the Palaearctic species groups of Botanophila, characteristics of each species group (key and characteristics compiled by Michael Ackland), and keys to the species of Botanophila from China. This paper also provides the characters of the genus Botanophila and describes three new species, namely B. densispinula sp. nov., B. platysurstyla sp. nov. and B. subspinulibasis sp. nov.; Botanophila nigrifrontata (Fan & Zheng) is synonymized with B. melametopa (Fan); and B. zhuoniensis (Jin) and B. nigribella (Deng) are redescribed. The type specimens of the new species are deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Shenyang Normal University.

Three European taxa of the Trhypochthonius-tectorum complex are differentiated and described: Trhypochthonius tectorum (Berlese) s. str., T. silvestris europaeus n. subsp. and T. japonicus n. forma occidentalis. These taxa are compared with T. americanus (Ewing), T. silvestris Jacot and T. japonicus Aoki. Because of the high similarity among these species, a biometrical analysis is performed which confirmed three species groups with disjunct distributions: Trhypochthonius tectorum in Europe with T. tectorum americanus (n. comb.) in North America, T. silvestris in North America with T. s. europaeus n. subsp. in Europe, T. japonicus in Japan with T. japonicus n. forma occidentalis in Europe. The relationships of further Palaearctic species of this complex are discussed and we propose taxonomical changes: Trhypochthonius tectorum fujinitaensis Fujikawa (n. comb.) and T. t. stercus Fujikawa (n. comb.); T. silvestris misumaiensis Fujikawa (n. comb.) and T. s. septentrionalis Fujikawa (n. comb.). The disjunct biogeographical distribution of the members of the three species leads to the assumption of a relative high geological age of the parthenogenetic species-complex of “T. tectorum s. lat.”. A key for the Central European species of Trhypochthonius is presented.

The wolf spider genus Alopecosa Simon, 1885, contains 160 named species (Platnick 2012) and the type species of the genus is A. fabrilis (Clerck, 1757), which is a Palaearctic species like most species in the genus (Platnick 2012). The taxonomic structure of the genus has been studied in two revisions; Lugetti & Tongiorgi (1969) divided 24 species of European Alopecosa into five species groups and Dondale & Redner (1979) divided seven species from North America into three groups. Many species currently in Alopecosa do not appear to be related to the type species; hence the genus is polyphyletic and should be divided into several genera (Marusik & Kovblyuk 2011). Faunistic revisions of Alopecosa have been produced for Italy (Lugetti & Tongiorgi 1969), Romania (Fuhn & Niculescu-Burlacu 1971), North America (Dondale & Redner 1979), China (Song et al. 1999) and Sweden (Almquist 2005). In the Ukraine and European Russia, 18 and 22 species have been reported, respectively (Mikhailov 1997, 2000). Twenty species of Alopecosa have been described since the year 2000 (Platnick 2012), including one from Central Europe (Czech Republic and Slovakia) (Buchar 2001), one from Greece (Buchar 2001), one from Southwestern Russia and six species from Western Kazakhstan (Ponomarev 2007, 2008, 2009).

Abstract Two extinct species of the modern genus Tetramorium Mayr, T. paraarmatum sp. n. and T. kulickae sp. n., are described from the Baltic amber (Poland, ca. 37 Ma). This is the first record of the fossil species of this genus. Described species resemble recent Palaearctic species, and we preliminarily place them to the inerme and caespitum species groups, respectively. Findings of other, previously non-recorded and not described yet fossil Tetramorium species from the Middle (or possibly Early) Eocene and Miocene deposits of Europe and North America are discussed.

(China: Yunnan, Meili Xue Shan) and A. puetzi sp.n. (China: Sichuan, Daxue Shan, Qionglai Shan). Nigrum-Group containing A. nigrum (Cameron, 1924) (Himalaya), A. anishchenkoi sp.n. (China: Gansu, Dalijia Shan), A. conjunctum sp.n. (China: Yunnan, Diancang Shan), A. densepunctatum sp.n. (China: Yunnan, Meili Xue Shan) and A. ivani sp.n. (Nepal: Bagmati; Bhutan). The species groups are defined, briefly discussed and a key to the species included in each group is given. Lectotypes are designated for Eudeliphrum gracilipalpe Champion, 1920 and Lathrimaeum nigrum Cameron, 1924. Species in each species-group are described/redescribed, illustrated and their geographical distribution is mapped. Members of the genus Anthobium are recorded for the first time from China and Bhutan, and Anthobium gracilipalpe is recorded for the first time from Nepal.
