Mobile commerce is increasingly becoming a key aspect of human activities with the advancement of mobile technology and services. This chapter examines key factors that influence m-commerce adoption and the moderating roles of gender and income. The conceptual framework is underpinned on an extended technology acceptance model. The data was collected using a questionnaire given to participants selected from Malaysia. The analysis was based on 260 valid responses. Findings reveal that five hypotheses developed for this chapter were supported for female participants, except perceived usefulness, and perceived ease of use was unsupported for male participants. Perceived usefulness and social influence were the most important factors for participants earning low and high income, respectively. Surprisingly, high-income earners indicated that cost is an important factor. The contributions to research and practice, including suggestions for future studies, are discussed.

M-learning is learning delivered via mobile devices and mobile technology. The research indicates that this medium of learning has potential to enhance formal as well as informal learning. However, acceptance of m-learning greatly depends upon personal attitude of students towards this medium; therefore this study focuses only on the individual context in which role of student’s readiness towards m-learning is investigated using Technology acceptance model (TAM). TAM is the popular choice among the researchers for investigating acceptance of any new technology primarily because of its robust and parsimonious nature. The sample selected for this study consisted of students from the private sector universities in a developing country. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The final results of investigation were based on 244 valid responses. The results indicate that the students’ skills and psychological readiness strongly influence their perceived ease of use (PEU) and perceived usefulness (PU) of m-learning, whereas both these constructs positively influenced their behavioral intention to use m-learning. The findings of this study have theoretical as well as practical implications which are discussed at the end.

This study identifies the cultural influences on the adoption of mobile commerce based on the comparative cases of Taiwan and Malaysia, so as to give insights to mobile operators' global entries. Using Hofstede's five cultural orientations as moderators in conjunction to Davis' technology acceptance model (TAM), the combined model has been tested by the confirmatory factor analysis for measurement validity and the multiple regression approach for the moderation effect of cultural influences on the adoption of novel mobile services. This results show that uncertainty avoidance (UA), individualism (ID), and long-term (LT) orientation have significant influences on the influence of perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease-of-use (PEOU) regarding the adoption intentions of mobile commerce. However, the power distance (PD) and masculinity (MA) have different effects in Taiwan and Malaysia. These results not only supplement the explanation of the technology adoption, but also hold strategic implications for the global expansion of mobile operators by emphasizing on local preferences and their differentiation advantages.

In Indonesia, the strategy of collecting zakat, infaq, and shodaqoh (ZIS) continues, one of which is through digital collection through the use of a crowdfunding platform. However, the community's intention or intention to distribute zakat, infaq, and shodaqoh through the crowdfunding platform has decreased based on the percentage of raising. The purpose of this study is to test the theory of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Trust (Trust) by analyzing what factors influence the intention of the Indonesian people to distribute ZIS through the use of a crowdfunding platform. The population in this study are people who have used digital payment platforms with a sample size of 385 respondents. This study uses data analysis techniques with the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The results of this study indicate that individuals believe that crowdfunding platforms are very easy to use and learn. On the other hand, individuals have high confidence in the crowdfunding platform and have a high perception of usability for the crowdfunding platform. The individual intensity is very high for using the crowdfunding platform. In the SEM-PLS analysis results, it was found that perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and trust have a positive and significant effect on behavioral intention. In addition, perceived ease of use and trust have an indirect effect on behavioral intention. This research is expected to be able to provide benefits in relation to policies to increase behavioral intention to distribute zakat, infaq, and Shodaqoh through the use of crowdfunding platforms.

Mobile commerce has already become one of the trends in future developments. Therefore, mobile shopping in application of mobile commerce will become one of the services with a vast development potential. A technology acceptance model (TAM) with trust is utilized to explore influence of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness in mobile shopping on customers' attitudes and behavioral intention to use, mobility, convenience and information richness, characterized by mobile commerce. An online survey was performed on a sample of 600 mobile users in Taiwan. Structural equation models (SEM) are used to examine hypotheses within the theoretical framework.

The primary objective of this study is to investigate the effects of level of readiness to electronic human resource management (e-HRM) applications of enterprises to perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and behavioral intention which are placed among the basic variables of Technology Acceptance Model. In the study, the readiness to e-HRM applications of enterprises is examined in five dimensions. These are Perceived Organizational Resources (POR), Perceived Organizational Support (POS), Organizational Information Policy (OIP), Perceived Organizational Innovativeness (POI) and Perceived Employee Technical Competency (PETC). The data of this survey were gathered from the enterprises which are placed among the first 500 industrial enterprises in Turkey prepared by Istanbul Chamber of Industry in 2009. The questionnaire was filled out by the directors or managers who have decisive positions in these enterprises. The questionnaire was prepared by taking the advantages of various studies (Udo et al., 2006; Prajogo and Ahmed, 2006; Alegre and Chiva, 2008; Hansen and Birkinshaw, 2007) for the sub dimensions of Organizational Readiness and for technology acceptance scale questions Davis’ Technology Acceptance Model is used. The data is analyzed by SPSS 18. At the end of the survey, it was found that Organizational Readiness variables positively affect e-HRM applications such as perceived usefulness, ease of use and behavioral intention to use.

Tech-friendliness in this new era is an important quotient considered and the persons’ acceptance towards the technology frequency matters a lot. But still the frequency varies from person to person, this brought in the concept of Technology Acceptance Model given by Fred Davis in 1989. The theory of TAM is based on two theories that are Theory of Reasoned Action and Theory of Planned Behavior, TAM is extended version of these two. Green Banking is a new technology introduced by the banks that focuses on the growth of Sustainable development and Banking system too. Thus, banks ask their customers to use it or practice it in their daily life transactions. But every customer has their own point of view on the usage of Green banking. Thus, the research aims to understand the customers’ perception towards the Green Banking for this TAM is used. The research states that Perceived risk is the primary factor that is followed by perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use that impacts the decision to use green banking. Thus, the behavioral intention results in actual use of green banking usage for which people are trying to accept the new technology. So, the banks have earned points for creating awareness among their customers but still they have to work hard and clarify their customers’ problems and vanish that hitch that is stopping them to use green banking easily.
