Digital Watermarking Capacity and Detection Error Rate

The digital multimedia, including text, image, graphics, audio, video, and so forth, has become a main way for information communication along with the popularization of Internet and the development of multimedia techniques. How to provide copyright protection has drawn extensive attention in recent years. As a main method for copyright protection, digital watermarking has been widely studied and applied. In this chapter we discuss the important properties of watermarks, the capacity, and the detection error rate. The watermarking system is analyzed based on the channel capacity and error rate of the communication system, and the relation between the detection error rate with the capacity and payload capacity is derived. This chapter also introduces a new analysis method of the watermarking capacity, which is based on the theories of attractors and attraction basin of artificial neural network. The attraction basin of neural network decides the upper limit of watermarking, and the attractors of neural network decide the lower limit of watermarking. According to the experimental results, the detection error rate of watermark is mainly influenced by the watermark average energy and the watermarking capacity. The error rate rises with the increase of watermarking capacity. When the channel coding is used, the watermarking error rate drops with the decrease of the payload capacity of watermarking.

Digital watermarking was introduced as a result of rapid advancement of networked multimedia systems. It had been developed to enforce copyright technologies for cover of copyright possession. This technology is first used for still images however recently they need been developed for different multimedia objects like audio, video etc. Watermarking, that belong to the information hiding field, has seen plenty of research interest. There's a lot of work begin conducted in numerous branches in this field. The image watermarking techniques might divide on the idea of domain like spatial domain or transform domain or on the basis of wavelets. The copyright protection, capacity, security, strength etc are a number of the necessary factors that are taken in account whereas the watermarking system is intended. This paper aims to produce a detailed survey of all watermarking techniques specially focuses on image watermarking types and its applications in today’s world.

Digital watermarking technology is being adopted to make certain and facilitate records authentication, safety and copyright protection of virtual media. It is taken into consideration as the maximum important era in these day’s world, to save you unlawful copying of information. Digital watermarking can be getting to audio, video, textual content or pictures. In this paper present the quad tree decomposition of cover picture consequences in variable sized square blocks. The presented approach adaptively determines locations within variable sized quad tree blocks in a cover image for embedding the secret text. The number of blocks obtained for a cover image is controlled using a threshold and a minimum block size.

The illegal hackers  penetrate the servers and networks of corporate and financial institutions to gain money and extract vital information. The hacking varies from one computing system to many system. They gain access by sending malicious packets in the network through virus, worms, Trojan horses etc. The hackers scan a network through various tools and collect information of network and host. Hence it is very much essential to detect the attacks as they enter into a network. The methods  available for intrusion detection are Naive Bayes, Decision tree, Support Vector Machine, K-Nearest Neighbor, Artificial Neural Networks. A neural network consists of processing units in complex manner and able to store information and make it functional for use. It acts like human brain and takes knowledge from the environment through training and learning process. Many algorithms are available for learning process This work carry out research on analysis of malicious packets and predicting the error rate in detection of injured packets through artificial neural network algorithms.

Digital watermarking has been proposed as a solution to the problem of copyright protection of multimedia data in a networked environment. It makes possible to tightly associated to a digital document a code allowing the identification of the data creator, owner, authorized consumer, and so on. In this paper a new DCT-domain system for digital watermarking algorithm for digital images is presented: the method, which operates in the frequency domain, embeds a pseudo-random sequence of scrambled image in a selected set of DCT coefficients. After embedding, the watermark is adapted to the image by exploiting the masking characteristics of the human visual system, thus ensuring the watermark invisibility. By exploiting the statistical properties of the embedded sequence, the mark can be reliably extracted without resorting to the original uncorrupted image. Experimental results demonstrate that the watermark is robust to several signal processing techniques, including JPEG compression, cut, fuzzy, addition of noise, and sharpen.

Abstract Recently, much interest is being taken in a method to protect the copyright of digital data and prevent illegal duplication of it. However, in the area of CAD/CAM and CG, there are no effective ways to protect the copyright of the 3D geometric models. As a first step to solve this problem, a new digital watermarking method for 3D polygonal models is introduced in this paper. Watermarking is one of the copyright protection methods where an invisible watermark is secretly embedded into the original data. The proposed watermarking method is based on the wavelet transform (WT) and multi-resolution representation (MRR) of the polygonal model. The watermark can be embedded in the large wavelet coefficient vectors at various resolution levels of the MRR. This makes the embedded watermark imperceptible and invariant to the affine transformation, and also makes the control of the geometric error caused by the watermarking reliable.
