A New Industry-Centred Module on Structured Parallel Programming

This work presents the case for the introduction of a new module on parallel programming for the core degree programmes in the School of Computing at the Robert Gordon University, and elsewhere. Having been conceived and designed with the industry-leading tools for structured parallel programming in mind, this module introduces students to parallel architectures, structured parallelism, and parallel programming. The main innovation of our approach is its emphasis on the structured parallelism environments recently released by Google, Microsoft, and Intel.

As the core of modern economy, finance plays a vital role in the development of strategic emerging industries. A rapid progress of these industries demands a well formed financial support system and a full play given to the role financial support. According to emerging industries life cycle theory, the characteristics of new industry and its law of development determine its funding requirement in various stages of development. This paper analyzes the characteristics of strategic emerging material industries and proposes financing policy in its different stage.

The skeletal approach to the development of parallel applications has been revealed to be one of the most successful and has been widely explored in the recent years. The goal of this approach is to develop a methodology of parallel programming based on a restricted set of parallel constructs. This paper presents llc, a parallel skeletal language, the theoretical model that gives support to the language and a prototype implementation for its compiler. The language is based on directives, uses a C-like syntax and gives support to the most widely used skeletal constructs. llCoMP is a source to source compiler for the language built on top of MPI. We evaluate the performance of our prototype compiler using four different parallel architectures and three algorithms. We present the results obtained in both shared and distributed memory architectures. Our model guarantees the portability of the language to any platform and its simplicity greatly eases its implementation.

This paper analyzes the main problems and difficulties faced by private enterprises in upgrading and upgrading in our province and explores the countermeasures for effectively accelerating the transformation and upgrading of private enterprises through several field investigations inside and outside the province. Through several provincial surveys and cross-provincial studies, the research group visited several typical private economic regions and their successful enterprises, explored their successful development experience and regional policy advantages, and put forward some countermeasures to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of private enterprises. Through investigation, the research group found that private enterprises in our province are facing problems in the new normal of economic development on private enterprises many impact; Through in-depth analysis and research, the research group puts forward the corresponding countermeasures, that is, accelerate the supply-side structural reform, and strive to provide beneficial policy advice and Suggestions for accelerating the transformation and upgrading of private enterprises in our province. This paper focuses on the research on international new industry cooperation in the core area of maritime silk road. FuJian is facing the main problems and difficulties in the international new industry cooperation. After thorough investigation and analysis, the research group put forward several feasible schemes.

The paper considers the creation of intelligent solving machines and the arrangement of parallel programming in intelligent distributed multiprocessor systems based on them. There are proposed some main concepts. A system is designed for programming in the C+Graph high-level language. The ideology proposed can be considered as an efficient development of structural high-level language interpretation when applied to multi-microprocessor systems. Equipment structure of the basic version of intelligent solving machines is considered and some characteristics are discussed.

Eureka or phoenix from the ashes? The developmental trajectory of offshore wind energy in Northwestern Germany. After the crisis in the shipbuilding industry the hopes for new regional developmental impulses are based upon the boom in offshore wind energy production. The paper examines whether there exist direct or indirect links between the new and the old regional industrial trajectory. The results indicate that these links are only of indirect nature. The core stimuli for the development were the ports in which seagoing vessels are able to land and a strong market pull effect. The crisis in contrast only generated an indirect push effect and the shipbuilding industry provided human capital and specialized infrastructure from which the new industry could benefit, but which could have been created elsewhere as well.

Abstract The target article carefully describes the memory system, centered on the temporal lobe that builds specific memory traces. It does not, however, mention the laterality effects that exist within this system. This commentary briefly surveys evidence showing that clear asymmetries exist within the temporal lobe structures subserving the core system and that the right temporal structures mainly underpin face familiarity feelings.

The authors have investigated the dissolution process of human cholesterol gallstones using a scanning electron microscope(SEM). This study was carried out by comparing control gallstones incubated in beagle bile with gallstones obtained from patients who were treated with chenodeoxycholic acid(CDCA).The cholesterol gallstones for this study were obtained from 14 patients. Three control patients were treated without CDCA and eleven patients were treated with CDCA 300-600 mg/day for periods ranging from four to twenty five months. It was confirmed through chemical analysis that these gallstones contained more than 80% cholesterol in both the outer surface and the core. The specimen were obtained from the outer surface and the core of the gallstones. Each specimen was attached to alminum sheet and coated with carbon to 100Å thickness. The SEM observation was made by Hitachi S-550 with 20 kV acceleration voltage and with 60-20, 000X magnification.

The fat body of insects has always been compared functionally to the liver of vertebrates. Both synthesize and store glycogen and lipid and are concerned with the formation of blood proteins. The comparison becomes even more apt with the discovery of microbodies and the localization of urate oxidase and catalase in insect fat body. The microbodies are oval to spherical bodies about 1μ across with a depression and dense core on one side. The core is made of coiled tubules together with dense material close to the depressed membrane. The tubules may appear loose or densely packed but always intertwined like liquid crystals, never straight as in solid crystals (Fig. 1). When fat body is reacted with diaminobenzidine free base and H2O2 at pH 9.0 to determine the distribution of catalase, electron microscopy shows the enzyme in the matrix of the microbodies (Fig. 2). The reaction is abolished by 3-amino-1, 2, 4-triazole, a competitive inhibitor of catalase. The fat body is the only tissue which consistantly reacts positively for urate oxidase. The reaction product is sharply localized in granules of about the same size and distribution as the microbodies. The reaction is inhibited by 2, 6, 8-trichloropurine, a competitive inhibitor of urate oxidase.
