The electoral system is paramount to the survival of democracy all over the world. Current happenings around the world, particularly in the developing world where poor conduct of elections had left a number of countries devastated are of great concern to world leaders. Therefore, efforts are ongoing to introduce a voting system that is transparent, convenient and reliable. This chapter presents an overview of an integrated electronic voting (e-Voting) system comprising: the electronic voting machine (EVM), Internet voting (i-Voting) and mobile voting (m-Voting). Similarly, issues of interoperability of the integrated system are discussed as well as the needed security measures. It is however recommended that emphasis be directed at EVM for use within the country while others are restricted to special cases of remote voting for citizens living abroad or living with certain deformities.

Electronic voting, as well as Internet voting, is in the process of being incorporated into most democracies in the world. The literature on the topic is abundant as well as the technologies offered. Most of the work, nevertheless, seems to bypass the actual origins of the modern (and current) electronic voting systems (Oudenhove et al., 2001).

This paper developed for the risk free and person oriented Online Voting System. The Online Voting gadget is made for the humans of the united states living round the world and needs to vote for their representative. The election can be carried out in two methods the paper ballot election and the computerized ballot elections. The automatic ballot elections are referred to as the digital voting. The on line vote casting device is rather developed and the on-line polling machine can be changed through precisely and at once vote casting on line and on the spot results. The on line balloting gadget is completed by using the net so it can be known as the Internet Voting. The gadget proceeds the on-line vote casting machine in a new approach known as Homomorphic Encryption . Homogeneous encryption is the form of encryption, which lets the computer generate encrypted end results in ciphertexts, as though they were performed in a plaintext, when decrypted, which matches the end result of the operations. In this paper we have a digital voting device based on homomorphic encryption to make sure that the vote is confidential. The benefits of multi-homorphic encryption systems are all presented in our suggestion. The proposed electoral system is suitable for elections that include non-partial votes and for multi-candidate elections. For outsourced storage and counting, homomorphic encryption can be used.

India's voting system plays an important role in Indian Democracy. The existing system is offline and has certain weaknesses. In recent years, the spread of covid19, inefficient rural voters, people far from their place of birth, paper waste affecting nature, budgets that should be used for development, invisible fraud, waste of human labor, have been recorded and can be avoided by the virtual voting system. The research aims to supply an easy and secure electoral system in India. The method used descriptive qualitative. The results indicate that a virtual voting system is environmentally friendly and is considered a resource-saving way for the election. It is because minimizes errors and increases voter participation through convenient virtual voting. In conclusion, a virtual voting system can develop an Aadhar based advanced Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), which helps in a free and fair way of conducting elections

Mongolia introduced a new electronic voting system for the first time for the 2012 parliamentary election. E-voting empowers citizens by making voting simpler and providing better opportunities for certain groups of citizens to participate in the election process. The electoral reform was one of the major steps the parliament carried out in order to restore public trust lost in the violent protests against the 2008 parliamentary election results. A free, transparent, and fair electoral system was important to correct the fraud in the old election system. This chapter examines the effectiveness of the mixed system of election, the electronic voting system, and other changes to the electoral system in Mongolia.

Abstract In this modern age countries worldwide evince a growing interest in electronic voting (e-Voting), which brings the idea of modernizing elections through electronic systems and provides many advantages such as efficiency, disseminating results more quickly, and in a cost-effective way. The paper gives a brief overview on recent developments of electronic voting systems in Bangladesh by using electronic voting machine (EVM) and addresses some strategies and principles in order to improve accessibility, easiness, accuracy, and security of election for better democratic process.

India being a democracy, that too world’s largest, still conducts its elections using either Secret Ballet Voting or Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) both of which involve high costs, manual labor and are inefficient. So, the system must be optimized to be made efficient which would not leave room for unwanted means of voting. The current system requires the physical presence of every individual which is inconvenient to many people. This paper focuses on a system that uses faces to unlock the voting system just like in your phone and does not require physical presence to cast a vote as the traditional system does. The process is time-consuming as well. The entirely web-based system enables people to cast their votes from anywhere in the world. Using detection of faces decreases the chance of duplicating a vote and those who are registered prior to the election and are recognized by the system will be allowed to vote. Just like fingerprints, every face also has unique features like the distance between the eyes and eyebrows that remain unchanged with growing age which makes the system more secure. Hence, the approach makes the system the best way to vote

This paper presents a study of vulnerabilities, risks, considerations and securities that can occur in a system of electronic voting in an election process of any authority. It is proposed to make an analysis as an electronic voting system can impersonate the vote traditional manual that is used for several decades in all cities of the world, these systems must ensure the integrity and proper use of the data and information obtained, but some occasions not taken into account the security considerations that are necessary in this class of systems. For this, an analysis of the security provided by electronic voting system is made as well as the vulnerabilities that may occur during the election process and some considerations to consider about electronic voting.

Democratic government in the world today rely on electronic voting as the foremost means of providing credible, transparent and fair elections for the electorate. There is a need for developed electronic voting systems to be security enhanced to ensure the authenticity of the developed system. Traditional paper balloting systems suffer from vote tampering, multiple voting and illegal voting by unregistered voters. They are also, susceptible to under aged voting due to the difficulty in authenticating the identity of prospective voters. Manual collation and publication of vote results also leads to slow response times and inaccuracies in published results. This research paper proposes a system to combat the current challenges through the development of a fingerprint biometric authentication system for secure electronic voting machines. It uses a fingerprint biometric sensor, integrated via Python to verify users of the system. The inclusion of biometrics improves the security features of the system. The secure voting system is built using PHP and easy to use Graphical User Interface was designed using HTML and CSS. Users are required to interact with the machine via a 7” touchscreen interface. From the results, it shows that the developed machine has a minimum response time of 0.6 seconds for specific operation, an FAR of 2%, FRR of 10% and overall system accuracy of 94%. The developed machine is able to combat the challenges of authentication of users, thereby guaranteeing the transparency, credibility, integrity and vote authenticity of the elections.
