Computational thinking (CT) is increasingly emerging as a thinking skill to support the development of 21st century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, or technology literacy, essential for students to become successful in an increasingly complex society. Educators are always looking for new strategies for developing these skills in students. Three-dimensional (3D) printing and scanning technologies are sufficiently mature and economically accessible to be used at the school level. By using 3D technologies, students explore, invent, discover, and engage in real problems and situations. This study explores the use of 3D printing technologies in a secondary school in Athens over the course of two school years. The study investigates if 3D technologies can support the development of CT skills in students.

The 21st-century learning demanded students not only to be academically competent but also to master some crucial soft skills needed in today’s challenging world. Promoting and implementing HOTS becomes crucial things to do in the learning process. This study aimed to find out English teachers’ efficacy in using interactive, critical thinking and meta-cognitive pedagogical techniques to promote HOTS in the learning process. This study employed a survey research method. The research approach used is descriptive quantitative. Five Likert-scale questionnaires are used as the instruments for collecting the data. The questionnaires are distributed through the online form to 15 in-service English teachers at the secondary high school level. Furthermore, the data were analysed using a quantitative descriptive data analysis technique. The results of this study indicated that English teachers have high self-efficacy in using interactive, critical thinking, and meta-cognitive pedagogical strategies to promote HOTS in the learning process. The result of this study provides a preliminary understanding about the English teachers’ self-efficacy level in using some meaningful pedagogical techniques to promote HOTS in this 21st-century learning. This understanding will lead to the impact of their implementation in a real teaching context. Exploring their practice in the real classroom context in implementing HOTS becomes a crucial issue for further study.

This research aims is to produce a learning device based on 21st century skills with the implementation of problem-based learning to increase the critical thinking skill of students on polyhedron for grade 8th junior high school. The type of this research is development research using Plomp’s model, there are (1) preliminary research phase; (2) the prototype phase; and (3) assessment phase. The results of this research are a learning device based on 21st century skill with the implementation of  problem-based learning to increase the critical thinking skill of students on polyhedron for grade 8th junior high school. The results of the syllabus, RPP, LKPD validation and critical thinking skills show valid and very valid criteria with values of 3.19; 3.32; 3.26; and 3.13. In the final product test phase, learning devices were used through pre-experimental research to see the increase in critical thinking skills and there was an increase in the critical thinking skill of students using learning devices. This means that the learning device based on 21st century skill with the implementation of problem-based learning to increase the critical thinking skill of students on polyhedron for grade 8th junior high school has been valid, practical, and effective.

International competitiveness, new technologies and changing markets resulted in a paradigm shift in education that demanded to enrich students with higher-order thinking skills, especially critical thinking. National Curriculum Pakistan was developed and launched in 2006. The curriculum of English (2006) has been devised to provide opportunities for language development of learners to equip them with the competencies that help to better adapt to knowledge advancement and ever-changing local and global society. To investigate if the intended curriculum of English has the goals of higher-order thinking and the planned curriculum in the form of textbooks, is designed keeping in view the current demands of competitive competencies for what the National curriculum of English was planned, and to assess the teachers' perspectives and perception about critical thinking, the researcher conducted a qualitative study. In one of the districts of Punjab Pakistan, based upon the highest enrollment, four male and four female colleges from each of its four subdivisions were selected. One male and one female teacher from each college volunteered to participate in the study. The three-stage study aimed to analyze the intended and planned curriculum of English at higher secondary school level and then analyze the teacher's perception regarding critical thinking, and the actual classroom practices were observed to review the enacted curriculum.

The development of life in the 21st century requires a variety of skills that one must master. Physics learning in schools has a central role in providing 21st-century skills to students. Physics learning is an integrated field that facilitates 21st-century skills and much research is being done in this field. The purpose of this research is to provide a review or general overview related to 21st-century skills-based physics learning research (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving, and Creativity and Innovation) in Indonesia. This type of research is a literature study. The articles analyzed are articles published in Sinta-accredited national journals with publication years ranging from 2015-2020 and Scopus indexed international journals, as well as journal research fields focusing on evaluation and learning physics. The number of articles analyzed was 300 articles from national and international journals. From 2015 to 2020, critical thinking skills were the most researched topic with a percentage of 12% and 27% of researchers did not mention the physics topic studied in their research. A lot of learning research, especially physics learning, focuses on a quantitative approach in solving problems in the field of physics education in this case related to 21st-century skills. Most of the 4C skills-based physics learning research uses a relatively small sample of under 100 samples with the majority of the research locations being found mostly focused on Bali-Nusra and Java. The research subjects most frequently researched regarding 21st-century skills are high school level (SMA/SMK/MA).

This research study aimed to identify the twenty-first century skills needed by secondary school students in the Republic of Yemen as well as the teacher's role in developing these skills among students. The study used the descriptive method, and administered  a questionnaire to a random sample of (367) students.  The research came out with a list of the 21st century skills needed for high school students. The study findings revealed that there is a disparity in the teacher's role played in developing those skills.  While teacher's role in developing the skill of cooperation and effective communication received the highest mean, developing the skill of critical thinking, and the skill of the digital age scored the lowest mean. In addition, the results revealed that there were statistically significant differences in students' responses attributed to the gender variable on the skill of critical thinking in favor of males, and on leadership skills and decision making skills in favor of females. In light of these results, it was recommended that colleges of education and teacher preparation institutes should pay more attention to preparing their teachers in a manner consistent with the skills of the 21st  century, particularly critical thinking skills and digital skills. Schools should also be provided with technological facilities, and the curriculum should include 21st skills as well as teachers' roles in developing such skills. Education systemin this era, focused on 21st century. Learning of the 21st century is a system to the renewal of a movements education especially in the field of science and math . One of renewal is known with the STEM term. Competence of the 21st century is one of a concrete manifestation in terms of support learning the curriculum applied at present. One of the object of which is seen critical skill against. subjects found in the level of education, but in reality in the field is critical thinking skill being one an obstacle to human resources in indonesia. Referring to the teaching and learning process in the classroom, sometimes material that was delivered can not received optimally by students due to limited time face to face. The population of this research is SMAN 3 Sumbawa Besar at West Nusa Tenggara. The research sample as much as 54 students class XI random sampling technique. The collection of data used an essay of critical skill with a value of post test as quantitative data. The research results show that class of blended learning approach that uses STEM education shows that can improve critical skill of student.
