In the era of smart home technology, early warning systems and emergency services are inevitable. To make smart homes safer, early fire alarm systems can play a significant role. Smart homes usually utilize communication, sensors, actuators, and other technologies to provide a safe and smart environment. This research work introduced a model for the fire alarm system and designed a fire alarm detection (FAD) simulator to produce a synthetic dataset. The designed simulator utilizes a variety of sensors (temperature, gas, and humidity) to simulate fire alarm scenarios based on real-world data. The produced data is investigated and analyzed to classify the possible fire behaviors based on key assumptions taken from real-world scenarios. Different classification models are used to determine an optimal classifier for fire detection. The proposed technique can identify the false alarms based on parameters like temperature, smoke, and gas values of different sensors embedded in a fire alarm detection simulator.

Damages and misfortunes caused by fire on ships have recently accelerated the creation of new approaches, development, and building the security and unchanging quality of the fire detection framework. Simultaneously, with the growing interest in better early fire detection and prevention, numerous frameworks are being created for the detection of progress, with control calculations having the task of carefully preparing and identifying true/false signals from fire or flames or the true alarm from false alarms. By utilizing the assistance provided by innovation, transport owners are more likely to service groups and fleets of ships and reduce potential fire accident costs. This article provides an overview of recent methodologies and technology for early detection of ship fires, as well as an enhanced approach for evaluating the Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) function of an alarming ship using a machine operating simulator called DMS-2017B. The DMS-2017B machinery operation simulator can unify the noise environment to avoid the influence of environmental differences on cabin experimental results. Compared to conventional Binomial Testing, a ship simulator coupled with the theory of affordance that provides a more realistic and operable way to assess the feature design of ship fire alarm and the threshold of some influence factors can also be used. According to the quantitative analysis of experimental results based on the ordered logit model, the function of the ship fire alarm would be improved significantly by adding recorded broadcasting and replacing static symbols with flashing symbols. Increasing sound pressure is also an effective way of doing this, but an auditory threshold is present. Above 75 dB, this effect will fade down, along with noise pollution. However, the effect difference between continuous alarm and square wave pulse alarm is negligible. The conclusion can provide some guidance for the design of a ship fire alarm. An appropriate design is expected to facilitate the efficiency of handling accidents and guiding evacuation.

House combustion is one of the main concerns for builders, designers, and property residents. Singular sensors were used for a long time in the event of detection of a fire, but these sensors can not measure the amount of fire to alert the emergency response units. To address this problem, this study aims to implement a smart fire detection system that would not only detect the fire using integrated sensors but also alert property owners, emergency services, and local police stations to protect lives and valuable assets simultaneously. The proposed model in this paper employs different integrated detectors, such as heat, smoke, and flame. The signals from those detectors go through the system algorithm to check the fire's potentiality and then broadcast the predicted result to various parties using GSM modem associated with the system. To get real-life data without putting human lives in danger, an IoT technology has been implemented to provide the fire department with the necessary data. Finally, the main feature of the proposed system is to minimize false alarms, which, in turn, makes this system more reliable. The experimental results showed the superiority of our model in terms of affordability, effectiveness, and responsiveness as the system uses the Ubidots platform, which makes the data exchange faster and reliable.

Introduction. The fire safety of the protected object is determined by the possibility of reliable fire detection. Insufficiently effective operation of the fire alarm system can lead to the death of people, unacceptable material and other damage. The video surveillance system, being one of the main links of the engineering security system, monitors emergency situations in real time and, in particular, a breakout of fire at the protected object. Goals and objectives. The purpose of the article is to analyze the state and trends in the development of video surveillance equipment aimed at improving the fire safety of protected objects. Tasks include regulatory justification of the use of video surveillance in fire alarm systems, review of methods of fire detection by video surveillance and improving their effectiveness under the influence of interfering factors, as well as evaluation of the effectiveness of video surveillance in fire protection systems. Methods. The methods of the system analysis and probability theory are used. Results and discussion. The requirements of regulatory documents for detectors with a video detection channel for their effective operation in fire alarm systems are considered. The main directions of development of means and methods of application of video surveillance in fire protection systems are defined. It is shown that reducing the risk of non-detection of fire to an acceptable level can be achieved by increasing the probability of effective operation of the fire alarm system, as well as by increasing the positive impact of the video surveillance system, which is a part of the complex security system of the object. Conclusions. Video surveillance significantly increases the efficiency of fire detection. It allows you to get a visual picture of the state of the protected object, which has such a high information content that no other security means can provide. The use of video surveillance equipment in fire alarm systems, as well as their integration with industrial and fire automation systems is one of the main reserves for increasing the fire safety of facilities. Abstract: The design of a fire alarm with Arduino-based system by means of GSM Module. The work purposely for house safety where the main point is to avoid the fire accidents occurred to the residents and the properties inside the house. In order to prevent losses accrued from fire accidents, various alarm systems have been developed such as smoke detectors, temperature sensor based systems etc. The design and implementation of a cost effective and reliable GSM based SMS Alert fire alarm system. The device will be able to monitor the temperature of the environment, the smoke level, send SMS alert to an inbuilt GSM number. When the system detects the temperature of 100C or more, it will immediately display an alert notification on LCD display and simultaneously sending an SMS alert to the users upon the high raise temperature in the house. This fire detection system consists of a smoke sensor, buzzer, LCD display and GSM module is interfaced with Arduino board. Keywords: Smoke sensor, GSM Module, Arduino, LED display, Buzzer

Internet of Things (IoT) is a potential technology to be used for data collection tasks in real-world environments. However, due to the difficulty of deploying and testing a real IoT implementation, many researchers end up having to use software simulation to evaluate their proposed techniques. This paper focuses on the use of IoT for collecting flood-related data, which would then use by flood-related applications such as flood prediction applications and flood early warning systems. This paper proposed a methodology for simulating the IoT system used for flood data collection. The proposed methodology consists of four main steps which are identifying the flood environment, defining the architecture for flood data collection, simulating the IoT-based flood data collection infrastructure and analyzing the results. The activities for each step are described in detail as to guide other researchers in the same area to adapt the methodology to their research work.
