The globally followed common vibration predictor model includes distance from source to vibration monitoring location and quantity of explosive charge per delay without giving much consideration to blast design parameters. Though there are qualitative assertions on the influence of burden on the vibration intensity by many researchers, no work on quantification of influence of burden has been reported. This paper deals with the development of a predictor model incorporating burden deviations in the existing predictor equation. The influence of burden on the vibration was viewed from the angle of detonation and rock fracturing during blasting. The new predictor equation is based on existing models developed by other researchers on the influence of burden on the blasthole pressure and vibration intensity as well as on some logical assumptions. The influence of burden on vibration was examined in two independent phases of blasting, and the net effect was calculated by adding the influence in both the phases. The study provides a quantitative explanation for the common observations of increased vibration levels produced by the blast rounds with excess burden and/or misfired shots.

The vibration can influence the running of devices in the engine room. It is necessary to monitor the vibration state of all running machineries. Through integrating the Bluetooth technology into the common vibration sensor, a wireless on-line vibration monitoring system is designed to monitor all devices. It will be helpful to avoid severe failure and improve the cruising ability.

Quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) is one of the promising technologies that enable nanoscale circuit design with high performance and low-power consumption features. As memory cell and flip-flops are rudimentary for most of the digital circuits, having a high speed, and a less complex memory cell is significantly important. This paper presents novel architecture of D flip-flops and memory cell using a recently proposed five-input majority gate in QCA technology and simulated by QCADesigner tool version 2.0.3. The simulation results show that the proposed D flip-flops and the memory cell are more superior to the existing designs by considering the common design parameters. The proposed RAM cell spreads over an area of 0.12[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]m2and delay of 1.5 clock cycles. The proposed level-triggered, positive/negative edge-triggered, and dual edge-triggered D flip-flop uses 14%, 33%, and 21% less area, whereas the latency is 40%, 27%, and 25% less when compared to the previous best design. In addition, all the proposed designs are implemented in a single layer QCA and do not require any single or multilayer wire crossing.

In this paper, the blast vibration was monitored and the data from an underground engineering were analyzed. The empirical formula of the relation between the maximum vertical direction vibration velocity and the scaled explosive charge, the maximum horizontal radius direction vibration velocity and the scaled explosive charge, the maximum horizontal tangential direction vibration velocity and the scaled explosive charge were determined. According to the blasting safety regulations, the safety standard of the blasting vibration velocity is less than 7.0 cm/s. Through monitoring and inspection, the safety evaluation of the secondary lining of the highway tunnel was made. The safety evaluation of the protected highway tunnel is safety under the blasting vibration.
