The European standard EN 206-1 contains descriptive requirements for concrete to withstand sulfate attack in the field. This approach limits the use of feasible concrete mixtures that don’t comply with these requirements. A performance approach based on the residual tensile strength of concrete briquet specimen according to ASTM C307 after storage in sodium sulfate solution close to field conditions is suggested by the authors. The newly developed test method is verified on a variety of 23 binders. Threshold values for the determination of the sulfate resistance of concrete after nine months of storage in 6000 mg SO42−/L sulfate solution at 5 °C are proposed. A first repeatability test as well as thermodynamic calculations prove the suitability of the method to test the performance of concrete during sulfate attack under practical conditions.

In order to explore the drying–wetting cycle test method of concrete under sulfate accelerating erosion, the influence of dry–wet time ratio on concrete sulfate erosion was studied. Under the condition of 7 days for one cycle, five different dry–wet time ratios were designed: 1:3, 1:1, 3:1, 5:1, and 10:1. The basic properties such as compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and dynamic elastic modulus of concrete were tested. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to analyze the microstructure of concrete before and after erosion. The test results show that under the environment of sulfate drying–wetting cycle erosion, the change of mechanical properties of concrete are divided into three stages: ascending period, fluctuating period and rapid descending period. Concrete is subjected to periodic damage process of initial damage followed by filling compaction, cracking, further filling, and cracking again, in that order. Dry–wet ratio has a significant effect on concrete sulfate attack. Under the same drying–wetting cycle period, as the dry–wet ratio increases, the degree of deterioration of concrete by sulfate attack increases first and then decreases. When the dry–wet ratio is 5:1, the deterioration is the most serious.

Delayed Ettringite Formation (DEF) is an internal sulfate attack caused by heat-induced decomposition and/or prevention of normal ettringite formed during the initial hydration of cement at elevated temperature (above about 70°C) and its re-crystallization in the hardened matrix. This reaction is a physico-chemical phenomenon inducing an expansion of the cement paste that could lead to cracking of cementitious matrix. These cracks result in a decrease in the mechanical performances and durability parameters of the material. However, the internal sulfate attack is characterized by a very slow reaction kinetics and therefore it is difficult to study it in laboratories. This research developed an accelerated method focused on mortar specimens; it is based on electrochemical techniques in order to speed the leaching of alkalis that could be accelerated the DEF.

We have studied and analyzed status and metrological supervision of blood glucose monitors, individual devices for a person’s blood glucose level measurement. It has been indicated that nowadays blood glucose monitors like other individual devices for medical measurement are not allowed to be involved in telemedicine public service. This accounts for absence of metrological supervision with these measurement devices in telemedicine. In addition, the key problem is absence of safe methods and means of remote verificaition, calibration and transmission of measurement data to health care centers. The article offers a remote test method for blood glucose monitors using a number of resistors with values correlating with measured blood glucose level. The available method has been successfully trialed in real practice.

This study applied SERVQUAL scale of Parasuraman et al to measure factors affecting customer satisfaction on service quality at Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank - An Giang Branch (Techcombank An Giang). The study was conducted to survey 207 customers who have been using the service at Techcombank An Giang. The survey results were analyzed by the Cronbach's Alpha reliability test method, then used Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) to verify and evaluate the scale of service quality. The results of the regression analysis show that customer's satisfaction about service quality at Techcombank An Giang includes four factors: The factor with the highest level is the Empathy with Beta = 0.253, the second of factor is the Responsibility with Beta = 0.248, ranked third in the influence level is the Tangible with Beta = 0.235, and the lowest impact level is the Reliability with Beta = 0.144. The research also uses statistical methods to describe and test the differences of demographic factors with customer's satisfactionon service quality.The analysis results show that there is no difference between customer's satisfaction on service quality and factors such as gender, age, income, number of transaction banks, regular transaction banks, and time to use the service at Techcombank An Giang. Through the research results, the author would like to propose some ideas to improve the quality of services, thereby attracting new customers and importantly, keeping traditional customers because the development orientation of Techcombank is to take care of old customers to cross sell other products of the bank. The Stud results offer a basis for the branch to identify the factors influencing customer satisfaction on their service quality, thereby having an appropriate strategy to improve customer satisfaction.
