Henan Art Center has a new curtain wall structure - the structure cable net glass wall. Because of the cable net structure for glass curtain wall construction and design difficulties, the design of curtain wall performance to deepen the main points of cable net structural wall of the working principle, design connections, cable net structural wall of the cable construction steps, cable pre-stressing and tension when the technical parameters and under the glass curtain wall materials and installation was introduced. And the main factors affecting the performance curtain wall and the cable tension when the ambient temperature and the tension stress was studied. The results showed that the construction program was optimize and construction quality and safety was ensure.

The developing trend of large scale curtain wall structure system is monolayer cable net glass curtain wall, so it’s important and necessary to study the corresponding calculation method and mechanical properties under fire conditions. The changing rule of the displacement and the maximum cable force with the temperature was analyzed by making series of numerical calculations, and the principle for determining critical temperature was deeply discussed upon the basis of the numerical simulation results. The critical temperature table considering different spans, grid dimensions and cable diameters is given, and the influence on critical temperature has also been studied when initial prestressed force of vertical cable is relatively small. Some suggestions are proposed finally.

A reliable estimation of the tender prices for lightweight curtain walls is a complex and time-consuming process for the contractor, as it depends on many factors related to both the technical parameters of the designed façade and the investor’s requirements for the solutions selected. The aim of the paper is to identify the factors affecting the costs of manufacturing lightweight curtain walls. Data regarding the complexity of curtain wall construction costs was obtained on the basis of the analysis of project documentation, cost estimates and as-built accounts for selected 50 public buildings. The authors identified the factors affecting the costs of aluminum-glass facades and ventilated facades. Their identification is the first element necessary to develop a new method of predicting the costs of implementation of such types of facade which are included in the authors’ research plans.

Based on elastic mechanics, this article deduced the theoretical value of the maximum stress and maximum deflection of sheet structure which was applied on point supported glass curtain wall structure, and figure out the stress and deflection values by calculation example. After that by simulating the structure with the finite element software ANSYS we drew the cloud atlas of stress and deflection values which we analyzed and compared with the theoretical values. Finally we can work out the error between the theoretical values and simulate value and analysis it.

The thermal comfort of occupants in the increasing number of modern buildings with glass curtain wall structures is of significant research interest. As the thermal sensitivity of building occupants varies with building features, situational factors, and the human body’s thermal balance, it is necessary to derive the comfort temperature based on field research, which was conducted in this study in a South Korean office building with a glass curtain wall structure. The influence of solar radiation on the indoor thermal environment and thermal comfort obtained by measurements and occupant questionnaires was analyzed using cumulative graphs and a sensitivity analysis. The observed changes in operative temperature over time confirmed that occupant comfort was significantly affected by the radiant temperature. Based on this result, two groups (Group A near the windows and Group B near the interior corridor) were defined for analysis. Owing to the influx of solar radiation, Group A was more sensitive to changes in the thermal environment (0.67/°C) than Group B (0.49/°C), and the derived comfort temperature for each group differed from the set temperature by approximately ±2 °C. Thus, it was confirmed that the solar radiation introduced through a glass curtain wall building has a direct impact on the indoor thermal environment and occupant comfort according to location.

The point-supported cable truss curtain wall is widely applied in today's high-rise construction structural design. The wind load is the main loads which are bore by Point supported glass curtain wall structure. When the curtain wall glass panels are subject to wind load, the panel will transform form surface loads to point load by spider claws passed to the supporting structure. This paper adopts the method of time domain and ANSYS software to analyse point-supported glass curtain wall cable truss structure of wind-induced vibration response.

High-strength prestressed cables were main bearing parts in single-layer cable mesh point-supported glass curtain wall structures, and it was always unable to take effective fire prevention measures on steel cables due to small sections. That the elastic modulus and yield strength of prestressed cables decreased sharply under fire conditions would threaten safety performance of the whole structure seriously. When glass breakage is considered and not considered, nonlinear finite element complete-process analysis for the single-layer cable mesh point-supported glass curtain wall structure was conducted. Influences of various factors on structure mechanical performance were studied under fire conditions. Through the calculation analysis of different joint constraint models, the ultimate temperature table suitable for different sizes and cable spacing of glass curtain walls was obtained under uniform heating conditions, and proposals for fire-resisting design were given.
