Aeronautic electronic components & devices selection is an important means to improve the aeronautic product reliability in its development stage. This paper proposes a multidimensional grey evaluation method to evaluate the electronic components & devices selection process by four indexes after the analysis of aeronautic production contractors and component manufactures. A memory selection example was presented to prove the feasibility of the proposed method. The proposed method can avoid the evaluation error effectively due to subjective factors and help to improve the product use reliability.

This paper introduces an effective new Design For Quality tool called the Assembly Reliability Evaluation Method (AREM) that visualizes assembly fault potential. The distinctive features of AREM are: (1) visualization of parts and operations having a high fault probability; (2) evaluation of shop reliability, as well as product reliability and, (3) easy data input by symbol selection as well as simultaneous assemblability evaluation; can be evaluated quantitatively. The method can be integrated with other DFX tools such as the Assemblability Evaluation Method (AEM), and the Recyclability/Disassemblability Evaluation Method (REM/DEM) to realize a comprehensive production design evaluation system.

The personalization of certain teaching processes produces improved learn-ing results. In the assessment of learning, there is a need to personalize the test items according to the learning styles of the students. This paper pro-poses the design of an adaptive application that generates personalized tests according to the students' learning styles. To facilitate the design of the proposed application, an ontology for creating personalized tests was de-signed based on the use of learning styles by means of applying the Methontology methodology. This ontology has a hierarchy of 3 levels, 9 first-level classes, 12 second-level subclasses, and 10 third-level sub-classes. The application was developed using the Primefaces framework and the Jena library to manage the ontology. At the end of the development stage, the usability of the application created was measured using the heu-ristic evaluation method based on the ten principles of Jackob Nielsen. The results obtained indicate that the application complies with the aforemen-tioned principles, earning a 94% usability rating. Consequently, it can be deemed a useful application for end-users

In service selection, an end user often has his or her personal preferences imposing on a candidate service’s non-functional properties. For a service selection process promoted by a group of users, candidate services are often evaluated by a group of end users who may have different preferences or priorities. In this situation, it is often a challenging effort to make a tradeoff among various preferences or priorities of the users. In view of this challenge, a multi-criteria decision-making method, named AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), is introduced to transform both qualitative personal preferences and users’ priorities into numeric weights. Furthermore, a QoS-aware service evaluation method is presented for a shared service’s co-selection taking advantage of AHP theory. At last, a case study is presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the method.

The digitalized Instrumentation and Control (I&C) system of nuclear power plants (NPP) could provide operator easily Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and more powerful overall operation capability. However, some software errors may cause a kind of Common Cause Failure (CCF). As a consequence, the event of Anticipated Transients Without Scram (ATWS) will occur. In order to assure that the plant can be shutdown safely and to follow the requirements of 10CFR50.62, the utility builds up various ATWS mitigation features in NPP. The features include Fine Motion Control Rod Drive Run In, Alternate Rod Insertion, Standby Liquid Control System, Reactor Internal Pump Trip or Runback, Feedwater Flow Runback and Inhibition of Automatic Depressurization System. This research developed an evaluation method of diverse back-up means for computerized I&C system. A diverse backup of digital I&C system is the most important means to defend against CCF and un-detectable software faults. Institute of Nuclear Energy Research (INER) is developing a computerized I&C test facility, which is incorporated a commercial grade I&C systems with Personal Computer Transient Analyzer (PCTran)/Advanced Boiling Water Reactor (ABWR), a NPP simulation computer code. By taking the technology of Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) to implement the methods of ATWS mitigation, the research built up a diverse back-up of digital I&C system to expect to defend against CCF and undetectable software faults. According to the testing and evaluation, the work can be achieved the analysis of Diversity and Defense-in-Depth (D3).

Network security risk assessment is an important means of acquiring and mastering the current and future state of network, which is of great significance to maintain the safe operation of the network. This paper presents an improved risk assessment method based on Markov game that has simply changed the past, in which the risk status of the network assets were classified into fixed categories. Depending on the game relationship between fixing vulnerabilities and threat attacking, this method has more detailed characterization of the network risk. Network attacks and vulnerabilities are sorted, which reduces the state space, making the scale of model input greatly reduced, improving the assessment of large-scale network efficiency. Simulation results demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of this method.
