Problem. There was a need to expand the well-known concept of vehicle operational properties – fuel efficiency arose in connection with the advent of new alternative power plants (electric motors, flywheel engines, hybrid power plants, etc.), which requires the inclusion of not only the thermal energy of the fuel, but also other types of energy (electrical and mechanical). In the paper the research of choice and justification of the vehicle energy efficiency indicators by assessing the energy costs of the engine for its movement was made. The analysis of the relationship between energy characteristics of dynamics and vehicle efficiency was made. Goal. The aim of the study is to analyze methods for assessing the vehicle energy efficiency. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to determine indicators that will allow a comparative analysis of energy efficiency indicators of various vehicles. Methodology. The approaches taken in the work to solve this goal are based on substantiating the indicators of the energy efficiency of the car by assessing the energy consumption of the engine for its movement. Results. In our opinion, in projecting and evaluating the dynamic properties of vehicles, it is rational to use the energy indicators of the vehicle, for which it is necessary to develop appropriate assessment criteria. Analysis of the results of indicators calculation and, in table 1, has shown that the indicator in comparison with has less dispersion. Originality. The obtained results of the influence of the parameters of vehicles on the level of their energy load shows that the indicator has less dispersion than. In addition, the value does not correlate with the year of manufacture of the vehicle, which allows the use of this indicator at the design stage of vehicles. It is only necessary to set the rational normative value of this indicator. Practical value. The results obtained can be recommended to specialists for use in the design, production, certification and operation of automotive vehicles, vehicle energy efficiency, combined power plant.

It is shown that the development of the concept of metrological support for the creation of composite structures of aircraft aggregates of the transport category and their support at all stages of the existence of an aircraft should be based on the formation of a complex criterion for the effectiveness of the use of polymer composite materials. It is noted that the effectiveness of a structure made of polymer composite materials is provided by various methods, methods and technical means of metrology. The structure of a complex of studies aimed at developing the concept of metrological support is discussed, the first point of which is to analyze the types of metrological characteristics and the scope of work to determine them at the main stages of the existence of composite structures of aircraft aggregates of the transport category. Based on the analysis of numerous publications on the problem of metrological support of the main stages of creating technical products, the main types of measurements of the metrological characteristics of composite structures of aircraft aggregates of the transport category have been established, and the composition of the nomenclature of works on metrological support of the main stages of the existence of these structures has been determined. 12 main types of measurements of parameters have been identified, on which the whole variety of production physical quantities and the description of the properties and characteristics of structures of aircraft aggregates made of polymer composite materials are based. The composition of the main works on the metrological support of the four stages of the existence of the aircraft is revealed: design, production, operation and disposal of composite structures formed into systems of sequential blocks for performing these works. It is shown that the tasks of metrological support at the facility manufacturers should be solved during the technological preparation of serial production and testing of the installation series of products, and also take into account the peculiarities of aircraft operation and disposal of composite structural elements in terms of work safety and economic efficiency of their results. An enlarged sequence has been established for organizing work on metrological support for measuring the properties of composite structures of aircraft aggregates at aviation enterprises. The results presented in the first approximation provide a solution to practically important aspects of the problem under discussion.

Heavy transport aircraft are built and operated by US airlines (C-5A, C-5B, B-747-400), the European Concern Airbus (A-380), and the ANTONOV domestic state-owned enterprise. Such heavy aircraft as An-22, An-124 and An-225 have received worldwide recognition as the most efficient in their class [1, 2, 3]. It should be noted that such outstanding compatriots as O. K. Antonov, P. V. Balabuev, S. A. Bychkov, V. I. Tolmachev, V.F.Eroshin, O.K.Bogdanov made a decisive contribution to their improvement (including formation of mass characteristics). The main path of development of domestic heavy transport aircraft is to create modifications that meet the ever-increasing requirements of the time and customers to improve their transport and economic performance. The article shows that one of the ways to improve this type aircraft efficiency is the formation of their mass characteristics (i.e., mass of the aircraft modification itself and its individual units), which significantly affect all flight technical and economic parameters. It is proposed to take into account possible changes in four groups of parameters when assessing the starting mass (formed at the initial stages of creating a modification):T - a group of parameters that determine the level of requirements for a new modification;U - a group of parameters that determine the achievement of the stated goals at the stages of creation and operation of the modification;O - a group of parameters that determine the appearance of the future modification;P - a group of parameters that determine the mass and its density in the created modification.Division of the parameters into four groups makes it possible to evaluate and minimize the effect of the objective "square - cube" law on the mass gain in the design, production of a prototype and its flight tests and to represent it in the form of the starting mass of the modification (m0).The effectiveness of using the proposed approach to the formation of mass characteristics is shown on examples of the development of modifications of the An-124-100M and An-124-100M-150 airplanes.A distinctive feature of these modifications are: they were developed twenty years after creation of the base An-124 aircraft, carrying capacity has been increased by 30 tons, takeoff weight has been increased by 7%, the wing area, as well as the takeoff roll and landing run remained unchanged. The empty aircraft mass also remained unchanged, which indicates a special approach to the formation of mass characteristics. At the same time, in these modifications, the carrying capacity and flight performance increased by 25%, which is the highest achievement in the practice of creating aircraft of this type

The aim of this article is to characterize the impacts of Smart Additive Manufacturing (SAM) on industrial production, digital supply chains (DSCs) and corresponding digital value chains (DVCs), logistics and inventory management. The method used consists of a critical review of the literature, enriched by the authors’ field experience. The results show that digital transformation of manufacturing is affecting business models, from resource acquisition to the end user. Smart manufacturing is considered a successful improvement introduced by Industry 4.0. Additive Manufacturing (AM) plays a crucial role in this digital transformation, changing the way manufacturers think about the entire lifecycle of a product. SAM combines AM in a smart factory environment. SAM reduces the complexity of DSCs and contributes to a more flexible approach to logistics and inventory management. It has also spurred the growth and popularization of customized mass production as well as decentralized manufacturing, rapid prototyping, unprecedented flexibility in product design, production and delivery, and resource efficiency and sustainability. SAM technology impacts all five Fletcher’s stages in DVCs. However, the need for clear definitions and regulations on 3D printing of digital files and their reproduction, as well as product health, safety, and integrity issues, cannot be ignored. Furthermore, investment in this technology is still expensive and can be prohibitive for many companies, namely SMEs.

Merci Mon Héros (MMH) is a youth-led multi-media campaign in Francophone West Africa seeking to improve reproductive health and family planning outcomes using radio, television, social media, and community events. One component to this project is the development of a series of youth-driven videos created to encourage both youth and adults to break taboos by talking to each other about reproductive health and family planning. A costing study was conducted to capture costs associated with the design, production, and dissemination of 11 MMH videos (in French) on social media in Côte d'Ivoire and Niger. The total costs to design, produce and disseminate 11 of the campaign videos for MMH in both Côte d'Ivoire and Niger were $44,981. Unit costs were calculated using three different denominators, resulting in average unit costs of $0.16 per reach, $1.29 per engagement, and $4.27 per video view. These findings can be useful for future studies of SBC interventions using social media for framing the analysis and selecting the appropriate metrics for the denominator, as well as for budgeting and planning SBC programs using social media.

Complexity management is one of the most crucial and challenging issues in manufacturing. As an emerging technology, digital twin provides an innovative approach to manage complexity in a more autonomous, analytical and comprehensive manner. This paper proposes an innovative framework of digital twin-driven complexity management in intelligent manufacturing. The framework will cover three sources of manufacturing complexity, including product design, production lines and supply chains. Digital twin provides three services to manage complexity: (1) real-time monitors and data collections; (2) identifications, diagnoses and predictions of manufacturing complexity; (3) fortification of human-machine interaction. A case study of airplane manufacturing is presented to illustrate the proposed framework.
