This paper from the network level design the urban rail transit passenger transport microcosmic simulation model. Take the model’s achieve and apply as a target, through analyse the simulation model’s class library and its properties, design the event driven model, optimize the model frame and etc work, develop the urban rail transit passenger transport microcosmic simulation system, and through the Suzhou Rail transit planning network’s calculation example, verified the system’s availability.

With the rising of urban rail transit planning and constructing in China, the relationship between rail transit and bus must be located. After analyzed the inevitability of competition and the necessity of cooperation between rail transit and bus, this paper strategically located the relationship between rail transit and bus. At last, based on the characteristic of competition between rail transit and bus, this paper brought forward specific measures of staggering competition with cooperation corresponding to different rail transit develop stage to implement rail transit and bus. Higher level competition will be formed, and the competition result is not “single win” but “both win”.

Based on the analysis and summary of 19 PEIA cases of urban rail transit (URT) planning, this paper pointed out the major problems on PEIA of URT in practice, such as the depth of environmental impact prediction was inadequate, Optimal comments to URT Planning were not operational, and Public Participation was not representative etc. In response to these problems, this paper put forward some suggestions on both of regulating the technical means of PEIA for URT and improving the capacity of PEIA technical personnel. It could be helpful to improve the scientificity and practicity of PEIA for of urban rail transit planning in China.

Extensive efforts have been made in pedestrian evacuation of urban rail transit systems, since there has emerged an increasing number of congestion problems. However, few studies focus on the comprehensive urban rail transit hubs. As a comprehensive interchange hub integrating urban railway and intercity railway lines, Beijing West Railway Station was taken as a case study object. The pedestrian evacuation characteristics were analysed first. Then, a social force-based simulation model of Beijing West Railway Station was constructed in PTV Viswalk. The model was applied to visually display a real evacuation process and help identify evacuation bottlenecks. The results showed that the risk points at different facilities had various causes and features. Furthermore, the simulation model could also be used to evaluate the effectiveness of different optimization measures as long as certain model parameters were changed beforehand.

Abstract In order to study the interaction among the traction power supply, the train group and the operation dispatching of urban rail transit, a coupling simulation system of power supply system, trains and dispatching management is constructed. In order to solve the problems of different timescales and difficult cooperation operation for related subsystems, a multi-bus distributed real-time network architecture based on hierarchical management of communication data is established, and simulation management software is developed to facilitate the free expansion of the simulation system. Meanwhile, the track line, train operation and other large timescale subsystems are realized by the pure digital simulation. And the time-sensitive subsystems, such as train traction system, braking system, auxiliary power supply system and network system etc., are built by the semi-physical simulation. In this article, the system structure and the main implementation principle of each simulation subsystem are given in detail, and the system is tested and verified at the end. The results show that the simulation system can meet the expected requirements.

At present, China has entered a rapid developed stage of urban rail transit. As of the end of 2010, China approved the urban rail transit construction in 28 cities, of which 75% of the city is a state-level historic city. In this article, the author researches the Xi’an cultural resources and the experiences of historic city conservation planning of Xi'an, analyzes the Xi'an urban rail transit planning, and expresses the opinion that the historic city should be attached importance to the heritage impact assessment studies of urban rail transit network. Final the author summaries the evaluation principle of Xi'an urban rail transport planning from the perspective of historic city conservation, and hopes that all these experiences can be used by other historic city.
