In order to solve the retrieval problem of design example in rapid response design, similarity computation model among design examples is given, computation of attribute weight of design example is done based on the method of uneven weight distance coefficient, computation of similarity between product structure model that meet the requirement of customers and design examples existed is done by the method of combination weight. This method has been applied in rolling guide conceptual design based on example inference, the result indicated that the weight computational method proposed is simple and the reliability is good, it can solve the intelligent retrieval problem of design examples in rapid response design.

The contribution of this work relates to the field of Arabic text-based document analysis for the detection of plagiarism. This analysis will be carried out according to the triadic computation model of document similarity. The authors propose a hybrid segmentation prototype for Arabic text-based documents that links different processing steps in order to generate the similarity rate between the documents of an Arabic corpus. It involves two segmentation systems and a morphological analysis in order to obtain a matrix representation adapted to the triadic similarity computation according to three abstraction levels: documents, sentences and words.

The conceptual design model for mechanical product and its computer aided design are the important and focus problems. A mechanical product design process of FPBS model, function-principle-behavior-structure model, was put forward and discussed. The semantic relationships between the elements of FPBS model were studied to make foundation for the application of FPBS model. The operational demand of knowledge system for FPBS model was analyzed, and indicates the ontology can be applied effectively to knowledge system operation of FPBS model. Then, an ontology based FPBS model was established and a FPBS ontology model system was constructed. The experimental results indicate the model can be used in computer aided conceptual design for mechanical product effectively.

Sentence similarity calculation is one of the important foundations of natural language processing. The existing sentence similarity calculation measurements are based on either shallow semantics with the limitation of inadequately capturing latent semantics information or deep learning algorithms with the limitation of supervision. In this paper, we improve the traditional tolerance rough set model, with the advantages of lower time complexity and becoming incremental compared to the traditional one. And then we propose a sentence similarity computation model from the perspective of uncertainty of text data based on the probabilistic tolerance rough set model. It has the ability of mining latent semantics information and is unsupervised. Experiments on SICK2014 task and STSbenchmark dataset to calculate sentence similarity identify a significant and efficient performance of our model.

Design resources reuse is very important to the rapid response design. In this paper, a design resources reusable model based on product family is established to meet the rapid response design. Firstly, parameters transmission structure of product family is constructed based on Generic Bill of Materials (GBOM) and product master model, and then the reused design resource library is established by the instantiation to master model. Finally product configuration management and variant design is realized on the basis of the reused design resource library. In the developing process of the rapid response design system of machine tool component, the Linear Motion (LM) rolling guide variant design subsystem is developed by the application of the above methods to realize the variant design and configuration management of LM rolling guide. The result shows that the method can provide a reliable guarantee for establishment and effective management of corporate design resource base.

This paper describes the structure of heat pipe cooled hot forging die. A computational method was used to predict the temperature field of the die structure model. The research results show that the heat pipe can be effective cooled hot forging die, the temperature values of around heat pipe have a declining greater, thus significantly reducing the thermal load of the hot forging die, to further extend the life of the die.

Conceptual design is the premise of the detail design and could fully embody the human’s creativity, so it has become the core step for the new product’s development. In order to improve the creativity of conceptual design, the re-creation process model for the intelligent conceptual design is presented in this paper based on function-behavior-structure model. This model expanded the problem’s solution space by degrading the space of behavior and granularity, and describing the behavior space using the more basic behavior. At last, an example is given to prove that it is easy to obtain the novel and creative design scheme applying the method presented in this paper.

Modern product design can be considered as a process, which involves intensive iteration, complex reasoning, and mutual cooperation among the design groups in different disciplinary areas. In order to meet the requirements of modern products on multidisciplinary collaboration, the traditional method, where the product conceptual design is usually solved only within a single discipline, should be improved. Based on the classic function–behavior–structure model of product conceptual design, this paper studied the collaborative mechanism of functions, behaviors and structures, and proposed a new method/system of implementing formalized multidisciplinary collaboration in the product conceptual design process. In this method, the model/system of conceptual design process with multidisciplinary collaboration was established first, and three collaboration mechanisms were developed. After the coupling relationship among the design sub-states and the disciplinary classification characteristics of the design sub-states were expressed by the mathematical ways, the particle swarm algorithm was applied for the discipline planning, next the solving process for multidisciplinary collaboration were proposed. Finally, the conceptual design process of a stylus printer was used to illustrate the application of the proposed method.
