The parking of vehicles in inhabited areas is a problem of majority of town with developed road traffic. The deficiency of parking place especially in town centers causes a lot of conflicts which influence the traffic flow continuity and traffic safety. Newly established parking places are usually occupied in short time and the problem is repeated. Trying to locate a lot of parking places on limited space of urban road results in various conflict situations when the vehicles parked along the road (lengthwise, perpendicularly or at angle) reach the roadway, the drivers enter the running lane during getting out of a vehicle or getting in a vehicle, etc. The paper presented brings results of analysis of conflict situations from such urban road with parking places along the road with use of video analysis. There are also presented designs for solutions of these problems with the purpose to increase the safety of all road participants.

The work is devoted to placement of streets and urban roads greening elements. The statistics of the road traffic fatalities rate as a result of ride on obstruction, in particular a tree in Ukraine, Poland, the USA, Denmark, have been analyzed. An unsatisfactory situation in Ukraine was confirmed, where the accident rate on roads with a fatal outcome is almost 10 times higher than in the safest countries of the world. The main functions of the streets and urban roads greening elements are generalized. There are: environmental protection (noise absorption, air purification from exhaust gases and pollination); decorating (creation of space for satisfaction of esthetic requirements of a person); accentuating; barrier etc. The greening elements of Ukraine streets and urban roads are classified and compared with the classifications of Queensland (Australia) and Poland. Current placement of greening elements in Poltava (Ukraine) streets was analyzed and the main disadvantages of placing greening elements were revealed. The normative requirements for the street and urban road greening elements placement in Ukraine, Queensland (Australia), Poland, Sweden, Denmark have been analyzed. Existing placement of the street and urban road greening elements in countries with high level of traffic safety were researched and the ways of improvement of existing street greening in Ukraine was found.

Based on the survey of the traffic flow characteristics in the intersection, combined with the traffic flow basic principle and the existing research results at home and abroad, the road congestion condition is evaluated by determining the microcosmic evaluation index coefficient by VISSIM microcosmic simulation software. Then, the reasonable measures are put forward to improve urban road congestion condition. The analysis shows that the residents’ trip efficiency is improved and the quality of the urban road traffic condition is ameliorated.

On the basis of analyzing and comparing with the existing road facilities in normal state, the traffic features in emergency and the design of redundancy, a method of planning and designing the traffic of urban road in emergency is put forward to solve the problem by switching the road facilities From normal state to emergency rapidly in a short time through some simple traffic organization and physical facilities instead of changing the road traffic facilities in the normal state so that the valuable resources of the road traffic in city can be made the most intensive use of both in normal state and in emergency

The wrong behavior of the road traffic participants is a permanently discussed issue in many countries with advanced road transport. Such behavior doesn’t always result in traffic accident, but only in restriction or danger of the culprit or other participants. For monitoring the behavior problems we can for example use the video-analysis of the conflict situations. The methodology of the conflict situations monitoring with the video-apparatus application is described in the paper presented. There are also results of the conflict situations analysis on the selected roundabouts in the Czech Republic. The paper refers to suitability of the conflict situations video-analysis application not only for monitoring the wrong behavior of drivers and other participants of road traffic, but also for monitoring the inappropriately designed building elements (this hypothesis is confirmed by results of research, which are shown this article).

The groups of participants of the pedestrian and automobile flows, whose actions cause the greatest danger to the occurrence of conflict situations in the zone of unregulated transition, are identified. The factors determining the likelihood of a traffic accident at an unregulated transition are systematized, for which probability estimates of the occurrence of road traffic accidents are calculated. As an estimated parameter, the hazard coefficient of a conflict point of an unregulated transition is proposed, which is determined by the ratio of the probability of a traffic accident in the real-time hourly interval to the average annual probability of a traffic accident reduced to the hourly interval. The dependences of the hazard ratio of an unregulated transition are established on the most significant factors: the speed mode of transport in the area before the transition and the state of the road surface.

Urban traffic flow forecasting is a critical issue in intelligent transportation systems. Due to the complexity and uncertainty of urban road conditions, how to capture the dynamic spatiotemporal correlation and make accurate predictions is very challenging. In most of existing works, urban road network is often modeled as a fixed graph based on local proximity. However, such modeling is not sufficient to describe the dynamics of the road network and capture the global contextual information. In this paper, we consider constructing the road network as a dynamic weighted graph through attention mechanism. Furthermore, we propose to seek both spatial neighbors and semantic neighbors to make more connections between road nodes. We propose a novel Spatiotemporal Adaptive Gated Graph Convolution Network ( STAG-GCN ) to predict traffic conditions for several time steps ahead. STAG-GCN mainly consists of two major components: (1) multivariate self-attention Temporal Convolution Network ( TCN ) is utilized to capture local and long-range temporal dependencies across recent, daily-periodic and weekly-periodic observations; (2) mix-hop AG-GCN extracts selective spatial and semantic dependencies within multi-layer stacking through adaptive graph gating mechanism and mix-hop propagation mechanism. The output of different components are weighted fused to generate the final prediction results. Extensive experiments on two real-world large scale urban traffic dataset have verified the effectiveness, and the multi-step forecasting performance of our proposed models outperforms the state-of-the-art baselines.

9238 traffic accidents data are collected in rural road of China. Through the data analysis, the main causes of rural road traffic accident are presented. The external environment, the participant features, road features and accident characteristics are involved. The regression analysis in SPSS is applied to find the relationship between the accident features. Overall, the rural road traffic accident was mainly due to in the rural area there are mass travel mode, lower grade roads, poorer safety awareness of traveler and the road is lack of traffic safety facilities and so on.

In this paper, road pavement collapses resulting from sewer leakage are divided into six categories: negligible, marginal, considerable, serious, very serious and catastrophic, with the categorization being based on two criteria, both related to traffic safety, i.e., the number of fatalities caused by sinkholes, and the extent of the road pavement damage. The causes of road pavement collapses are also discussed. The study involved analyzing the deterioration of sewer pipes with long service lives, focusing on the most common materials, i.e., concrete and vitrified clay. The results of the sewer inspections performed by the Kielce University of Technology suggest that the spot and linear defects detected in sewers of this type can be divided into three groups. The findings were used to formulate some recommendations on how to improve road traffic safety by preventing road pavement collapses.
