Purpose of research is to develop a method for arraging routes for elimination of spontaneously formed unauthorized dumps on the territory of a municipal formation of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation.Methods. The development of a method for arraging routes for elimination of unauthorized dumps is based on the theory of graphs, which includes algorithms for finding the shortest path: Dijkstra's algorithm, Floyd-Warshall algorithm, Ford-Bellman algorithm, Hamiltonian cycle, etc. Having analyzed the peculiarities of using the listed algorithms, the authors have developed a method for arranging a route for the elimination of unauthorized dumps based on the Hamiltonian cycle.Results. The task of arranging a route is reduced to choosing those unauthorized dumps from the detected ones, which will be accepted as the vertices of the graph, between which it is necessary to find the shortest path. The authors' approach to the formation of a set of vertices of the graph is as follows. At the first stage, the initial and boundary conditions are set. The parking of special equipment (garbage trucks) is selected as the zero vertex of the graph, and the SMW polygon is selected as the last (nth) vertex. In this case, it should be taken in the account that after transporting waste from dumps to the place of their burial (landfill), the garbage truck must return back to the parking place. The limits taken into consideration are the maximum distance that the garbage truck can travel without refueling and the volume of the garbage truck body. Then, the closest to the starting point unauthorized dump which represents the greatest danger to the environment is chosen as the first vertex of the graph. An unauthorized dump closest to the first peak is chosen as the second, etc.. The search for vertices continues until the inequalities that take into account the given constraints are satisfied. Next, a graph, an adjacency matrix, and a route are formed. With this approach, for arranging a route, it is optimal to use the Hamiltonian cycle, which ensures finding the minimum path between all the vertices of the graph and returns to the starting point.Conclusion. Application of the authors' method for arranging routes for elimination of unauthorized dumps will make it possible to promptly clean up unauthorized dumps found in the city, which will significantly reduce the environmental load.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to find a real-time parking location for a four-wheeler. Design/methodology/approach Real-time parking availability using specific infrastructure requires a high cost of installation and maintenance cost, which is not affordable to all urban cities. The authors present statistical block matching algorithm (SBMA) for real-time parking management in small-town cities such as Bhavnagar using an in-built surveillance CCTV system, which is not installed for parking application. In particular, data from a camera situated in a mall was used to detect the parking status of some specific parking places using a region of interest (ROI). The method proposed computes the mean value of the pixels inside the ROI using blocks of different sizes (8 × 10 and 20 × 35), and the values were compared among different frames. When the difference between frames is more significant than a threshold, the process generates “no parking space for that place.” Otherwise, the method yields “parking place available.” Then, this information is used to print a bounding box on the parking places with the color green/red to show the availability of the parking place. Findings The real-time feedback loop (car parking positions) helps the presented model and dynamically refines the parking strategy and parking position to the users. A whole-day experiment/validation is shown in this paper, where the evaluation of the method is performed using pattern recognition metrics for classification: precision, recall and F1 score. Originality/value The authors found real-time parking availability for Himalaya Mall situated in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, for 18th June 2018 video using the SBMA method with accountable computational time for finding parking slots. The limitations of the presented method with future implementation are discussed at the end of this paper.

Nowadays, in all cities, there is an acute problem of a lack of parking spaces. The number of vehicles is constantly increasing not only in big cities and megacities, but also in small towns of the country, and there are not enough parking places—the pace of solving the problem is several times slower than the growth rate of transport among citizens. The paper is dedicated to the determination of an optimal size of a parking place for design vehicles in a parking space as an element of roads. In the example of passenger cars and trucks, the optimal number of parking places is presented. The results of the research on the dimensioning of parking spaces serve as recommendations and can be used for the design of objects of transportation infrastructure. According to the research, authors introduce the term “design vehicle” and provide its definition. They also figure out optimal parameters for each design vehicle and recommend a special template for designing parking places.

In big cities, there are plenty of parking spaces, but we often find nowhere to park. For example, New York has 1.4 million cars and 4.4 million on-street parking spaces, but it is still not easy to find a parking place near our destination, especially during peak hours. The reason is the lack of prediction of parking behavior. If we could provide parking behavior in advance, we can ease this parking problem that affects human well-being. We observe that parking lots have periodic parking patterns, which is an important factor for parking behavior prediction. Unfortunately, existing work ignores such periodic parking patterns in parking behavior prediction, and thus incurs low accuracy. To solve this problem, we propose PewLSTM, a novel periodic weather-aware LSTM model that successfully predicts the parking behavior based on historical records, weather, environments, and weekdays. PewLSTM has been successfully integrated into a real parking space reservation system, ThsParking, which is one of the top smart parking platforms in China. Based on 452,480real parking records in 683 days from 10 parking lots, PewLSTM yields 85.3% parking prediction accuracy, which is about 20% higher than the state-of-the-art parking behavior prediction method. The code and data can be obtained fromhttps://github.com/NingxuanFeng/PewLSTM.

With the increase in usage and availability of vehicles, finding an empty parking slot becoming very difficult in many public areas. So there is a requirement for a device that identifies empty slots in a parking place and also keeps the track of vehicles which are already parked very expertly. This task reduces human activity on the parking location in searching of empty slots and scheming the payment based on the timestamp i.e. how much time the vehicle is parked at the particular slot based on the use of parking place with the resource of money pockets. Some of the steps included in this functioning are vehicle identification, detection of empty slot and scheming of amount based on the time duration of parking. Vehicle identification is achieved with the use of RFID Tag, slot detection is also shown and amount calculation is done on the duration of parking. Here we are connecting all of the sensors to Raspberry pi to stumble on RFID Tag and deduct the charge from the cash wallet.

Vehicles are becoming an essential product in everyone’s life. Keeping a vehicle in a safe place will improve the life of its engine and other electrical systems. Hence, parking place occupies a major portion while constructing a house, apartment and shopping malls. The lighting system in such places are utilizing more energy and it leads to unnecessary expense on electricity bills. The proposed microcontroller based energy saving system is developed to minimize the utilization of light energy in parking spaces in an efficient manner. The results of the proposed system is compared with the general operation for identifying its efficiency. The proposed method saves the energy up to 46.35% than the existing lighting system.
