The subject investigated of this article is Maanshan Changjiang River Highway Bridge, which is a prestressed concrete cable-stayed bridge with three arched pylons. With the analysis of the details in design and construction of the main pylon of bridge, such as the set of the beams, the design of curve-shaped pylon and some significant parameters, it provide feasible experience in multi-pylon cable-stayed bridge. This article established the simplified finite element model with the software MIDAS/Civil and analyzed the load carrying capability and the deformation at the finished state of the bridge.

Cable-stayed self-anchored suspension composed bridges have novel structures and aesthetic appearance with complex system and difficulty for design and construction. In order to acquire a better knowledge of the load-carrying capability of this type of bridges, based on a real bridge and the theory of abnormal similarity, a full-bridge scaled down(1:20) test model was built to simulate the whole process of construction. The test results were preferably fit the theoretical calculation value. It can be seen that the design of the bridge was reasonable, and the accuracy of the calculation of finite element model was verified at the same time. The test and the related results can be used as the reference for the test and design of the similar bridges.

This paper takes a Chinese Changjiang River highway bridge as engineering background, and a kind of continuous three-dimensional (vertical, lateral and torsion)controllers which can apply in the large span cable-stayed bridge is presented. The controllers can control vertical, lateral and torsional response of bridge wind-induced vibration at the same time. Through comparative wind tunnel test of the bridge model with and without controllers, some important conclusions are made as follows: when the continuous three-dimensional controllers are installed on the bridge model, its flutter critical wind speed increases significantly (mostly increases 33.36%); Meanwhile, there is a certain degree of reduction in its RMS values of vertical, lateral and torsional angular displacement response.

The parameters of joint parts must be included in the finite element model of a whole grinding machine. The subject investigated in this paper is B2-K3000 high-precision composite flexible grinding machine. Through finite element modeling, the joint part parameters are integrated into the whole grinding machine model to establish a dynamic model and then analyze its static and dynamic characteristics. The result shows that the whole grinding machine possesses good features, but it still needs to be improved. This paper gives suggestions for its structure development and application.

In order to study the dynamic characteristics of a super-long-span cable-stayed bridge which is semi-floating system, the spatial finite element model of this cable-stayed bridge was established in ANSYS based on the finite element theory.Modal solution was conducted using subspace iteration method, and natural frequencies and vibration modes were obtained. The dynamic characteristics of this super-long-span cable-stayed bridge were then analyzed. Results showed that the super-long-span cable-stayed bridge of semi-floating system has long basic cycle, low natural frequencies, dense modes and intercoupling vibration modes.

Seismic displacement response of cable stayed bridge without back stays was studied in this paper. Based on the cable stayed bridge without back stays on Zhenshui Road in Xinmi City, finite element method (FEM) was applied to calculate and analyze natural vibration and peak displacement response of the structure. The results show that with regard to mid-span and consolidation of pier and main tower, uniaxial seismic wave input results in peak displacement response of corresponding direction is bigger than that of any other direction. Peak displacement response of the top of the main tower is bigger than those of mid-span and consolidation of pier and main tower in any seismic wave input cases, which indicates that the top of the tower needs to be focused in the process of design and construction. Seismic wave along triaxial direction has the biggest impact on the structure. Keywords: cable stayed bridge without back stays; seismic displacement response; seismic wave input; peak displacement response
