Aimed at cantilever-type foil cylinder film seal system, finite element method analysis model was established to calculate the deformation of cantilever foil under the gas pressure based on the theory of plate bending. The paper proposed a method to solve fluid-solid interaction problems in cantilever-type foil cylinder film seal system based on the numerical analysis method of cylinder gas film seal. The calculation program using the finite element method to solve fluid-solid interaction problems was developed. Calculation simulation of the film mechanical properties and steady-state performance of sealing system was realized which improved the accuracy of the sealing system performance analysis and provided the basis for the multi-parameters matching design of sealing system. The impact of adding cantilever foil support structure to the steady-state performance of sealing system and the influence of flexible support parameters on the steady-state performance of the sealing system was calculated through the method.

In this work, study on impact damage FEM model of composite structure was performed. From the finite element method analysis results of composite laminate, it was confirmed that the results of analysis was reasonable. The velocity of impactor to initiate damage was estimated, and in order to investigate the damage at the predicted velocity, impact analysis using finite element method was performed. According to the impact analysis results of composite laminate, it was confirmed that the damage was generated at the estimated impact velocity. Finally, the comparison of the numerical results with those measured by the experiment showed good agreement.

The purpose of the study is to assess through a FEM (Finite Element Method analysis), the behavior of a complex structure (enamel-tooth-alveolar bone-periodontal ligament-pulp), subjected to an external load through an orthodontic bracket-with forces of various intensities and to determine its influence on the entire structure. It is necessary to analyze the way all elements of the structure take over the external action given by the action of an orthodontic appliance through the brackets and the influence on the inner component -the pulp-inside of which there are the nerve endings.

When heat is conducted across an interface between two dissimilar materials, theimoelastic distortion affects the contact pressure distribution. The existence of a pressure-sensitive thermal contact resistance at the interface can cause such systems to be unstable in the steady-state. Stability analysis for thermoelastic contact has been conducted by linear perturbation methods for one-dimensional and simple two-dimensional geometries, but analytical solutions become very complicated for finite geometries. A method is therefore proposed in which the finite element method is used to reduce the stability problem to an eigenvalue problem. The linearity of the underlying perturbation problem enables us to conclude that solutions can be obtained in separated-variable form with exponential variation in time. This factor can therefore be removed from the governing equations and the finite element method is used to obtain a time-independent set of homogeneous equations in which the exponential growth rate appears as a linear parameter. We therefore obtain a linear eigenvalue problem and stability of the system requires that all the resulting eigenvalues should have negative real part. The method is discussed in application to the simple one-dimensional system of two contacting rods. The results show good agreement with previous analytical investigations and give additional information about the migration of eigenvalues in the complex plane as the steady-state heat flux is varied.
