Study on Improving the Empirical Formula of Calculating Francis Turbine’s Axial Hydro-Thrust

This paper improved the empirical formula so that it can calculate the axial hydro-thrust under different working conditions. Then based on the operational parameters of a hydropower station, two calculation methods were used to calculate axial hydro-thrust and made comparative analysis. The results show that the improved formula is simple in computation and closely combined with parameters like flow, head and speed, and its calculation accuracy satisfies the engineering demand.

Blast wave is numerical simulated based on FCT method. According to the comparative analysis, taking Henrych empirical formula as a standard, FCT method is more accuracy than Godunov method. Moreover, it has been found that the numerical accuracy is insufficient when the distance is small, it is necessary to develop and modify the numerical method continuously.

Using the precision bomb combustion calorimeter B-08-MA, the combustion energies of 5- (2- nitrophenyl) -furan-2-carbaldehyde, 5- (2-nitro-4-methylphenyl) -furan-2-carbaldehyde and 5- ( 2-nitro-4- oxymethylphenyl) -furan-2-carbaldehyde. Based on the obtained data, the values of enthalpies of combustion and formation of substances in the condensed state are calculated. A comparative analysis of experimentally determined values with theoretically calculated values by additive calculation methods is given.

The article presents the research in the design of a uniform medical suit and methods of implementing ergonomic requirements in the process of solving problems. The authors have chosen special uniforms for surgeons as an object of study and analysis. As a result of comparative analysis, it is noted that currently, the assortment does not meet consumer needs since many manufacturers do not attach much importance to the ergonomic requirements. The current domestic standards and regulatory and technical documents also do not always take into account the specialization and working conditions of a specialist. In the course of targeted research, the whole range of issues related to the pre-project analysis of the situation was resolved, the sequence of development of the design solution was indicated. The authors have given specific practical recommendations for the preparation of design documentation for a new model of a women's surgical blouse. The developed design documentation can serve as an information source when launching new models into industrial production since it is designed to meet the requirements for the ergonomics of surgeons.

A comparative analysis of the professional characteristics of the coach and the teacher, their working conditions and working methods is carried out. It is concluded that extrapolation of the concept of economic term to the sphere of general and higher education in Russia is irrelevant.

Cycloid reducers are gear trains which can be classified as planetary transmissions. These transmissions have a very wide range of uses in industry in transporters, robots, satellites, etc. This research presents a comparative analysis of three analytical methods for determining cycloid drive efficiency. The paper explores every mathematically formulated method and compares them to experimental results from literature. The presented methods for determining efficiency have a common property, in that they all determine losses due to friction on the bearing cam surface of the shaft, the rollers of the central gear and the output rollers. The calculation of efficiency values is done for standard power values. The methods differ primarily in the way they calculate losses. For each method of calculating efficiency there is an analysis of pros and cons. The paper concludes with suggestions as well as possible directions for further research.

As an important part of the turbomachinery, the rotor–bearing system has been upgraded to provide a high rotating speed in order to meet the demand of high power production. With increasing demand for stability, the squeeze film damper (SFD) has been widely used in industrial machinery because it can reduce the vibration amplitude and suppress the external force. Usually, it shows inadaptability under the different working conditions where the SFD parameters didn’t change appropriately. Therefore, the reasonable choice of operational parameters of SFD is the key solution that can provide viscous damping effectively and restrain the nonlinear vibration generated by faults. In this paper, the mathematical model of a rotor-ball bearing-SFD system considering the misalignment fault and misalignment-rubbing coupling fault is built first. Then the dynamic characteristics under typical working conditions (ω = 1000 rad/s) of the faulted rotor are discussed. The vibration attenuation effects of the SFD parameters selected by using the multi-objective optimization method on the dynamic responses are analyzed. The results show that when the rotor system operates under different states, the value and the sensitivity of optimization parameters are altered. With no fault, the amplitude of fundamental frequency decrease 23%. With the misalignment fault, the amplitude of the fundamental frequency decreases by 43.4%, the amplitude of 2× fundamental frequency decreases by 27.5%, and the amplitude of 3× fundamental frequency decreases by 66.7%. With the misalignment-rubbing coupling fault, the amplitude of fundamental frequency reduces by 7.4%, the amplitude of 2× fundamental frequency drops by 51.5%, and the amplitude of 3× fundamental frequency drops by 16.8%. Overall, the feasibility of the optimization method of the variable-structured SFD operational parameters for the faulted rotor system is verified. These parametric analyses are very helpful in the development of a high-speed rotor system and provide a theoretical reference for the vibration control and optimal design of rotating machinery.
