Abuse conditions of torsion and vibration occurred on crankshaft should be eliminated or diminished during the engine design process. 3D model of the crankshaft is set up by means of the simplified crankshaft system, using the concentrated quality method. FEA software was used for analyzing the different vibration amplitude orders. Two models with absorber and without absorber were compared and tested. The results of torsional vibration amplitudes-speed and so on are benefit to the new product development for eliminating the potential mechanical harm.

In order to research the principle of crankshaft horizontal-bending vibration, free modal experiments of 4105 diesel engine crankshaft vibration was designed and done. Vibration parameters of free vibration, torsional vibration, vertical-bending vibration and horizontal-bending vibration were obtained respectively through different measurements points setting and motivation techniques. Through analysis of frequencies and models, a conclusion was drawn:the torsional vibration was just coupling with the horizontal-bending vibration.

In this article, a coupling model of shafting torsional vibration with advanced injection angle is proposed to study the effect of advanced injection angle on shaft torsional vibration. Using Simulink, a model shaft system of a 4190ZL_C medium-speed diesel engine is created to study the effect. The proposed coupling model, the traditional simulation method and the test are conducted on the torsional vibration of the 4190ZL_C medium-speed diesel engine, separately. The results show that the spectrum from the coupling vibration model is more abundant than from the traditional vibration model. Hence, considering the effect of advanced injection angle on shaft torsional vibration, the proposed coupling model can improve the modeling accuracy of shaft torsional vibration. It provides a new approach in engine design.

By means of FEM using ANSYS, this paper set up a three–dimensional model by using Pro/E for model S195 diesel engine’s crankshaft corresponding to practical conditions . The distortion and stress of the crankshaft was investigated . The fatigue strength of crankshaft was verified under changing load . The rationality of crank stress analysis method, which is in current widely used, was discussed . The model analysis was made for the crankshaft , and provide the valuable theory basis for engine design optimizing and improving .

To address the problem of helicopter engine crankshaft fracture in engineer, this paper carried out an analysis of an inline four-cylinder engine torsional vibration, applying virtual prototyping technology based on ADAMS. According to this analysis, draw several orders of crankshaft torsional vibration natural frequency and the main vibration modes. This paper carried out a harmonic analysis of the disturbing torque acting on the crankshaft and torsional vibration amplitude of the free end relative to the flywheel, and obtained Critical speed map of crankshaft torsional vibration. These results can offer theoretical basis for engine optimization design.

The rapid process design technology about box parts based on 3D model was researched in this paper, in order to analyze process feature, it has broken through key technology for obtaining 3D process knowledge from the process knowledge database. The process knowledge sharing and technique process optimization were realized. It shortens the preparation cycle of process of new product development.
